Felt like the topic went alittle sideway with all the music industry which i might add is an interesting topic but barely anything to do which the FA dylan part. with all respect that part deserved more to be talked about, like he himself is legendary to this day should side tracked to the mark he left in the skate industries.
Rog is smart, mfs acting like he not. He’s trying to ensure skating is as original as can be, all he is saying is that it would take an effort to connect music industries with skating. Besides that Dylan is a mfn skate angel and his part was beautiful
Best solution honestly is to put out raw parts aside with production parts. That'll also help out amateur editors to practice making parts or someone clipping a piece of a part for another project that gives the skater more exposer.
Skateboarding is being used as an accessory for many trends or companies like mention with fashion/modeling. It will be always be used as accessory for corporate greed.
Love how their talking about the music industry bs and the Acid Bath "When the Kite String Pops" album cover is in the background 🤣 I donno it's just funny to me
i feel like you guys should've touched on the fact that a lot of brands are owned by big ass companies. Travis Scott was mentioned, but there is no way that Altamont, Boardriders, Authentic Brands group, or Nike could not have some sort of influence in the music industry.
Well said by all. However! The musician has equal rights to the 'skate part'. Every trick is enhanced by the music. Every commercial is enhanced by music. Roger is right.
In a world with Primitive X Kikomann, Girl X Kodak, and any other collab, music is the next logical step. And it's gonna come down to which company first pops their cherry doing it, before the floodgates open. Give a year or so, and it will be normal.
Kids buying music of skate videos sometimes. If your alltime favorite pro has a part with a song that catches you too, you will get the song or maybe buy the album of the artist later....
The idea of putting the clips on the music labels page might seem good but what if the artist doesn't like skateboarding. Maybe some musicians who like skateboarding can collaborate with skaters they are friends with maybe. I know some musicians and skaters hang out and are at the same evensts so it's not a farfetched idea if all parties agree
The music industry exploits their musicians they dont care about skaters trust me. Skate companies should just pay royalties. Every play equals x ammount of money to the music owner (some cents). Done. This dude with glasses doesent understand that there is no way warner or sony music or whatever would give a song for unlimited plays for a fcking "music video". They want the money.
skateboarding needs to work with artists that own their masters/publishing, then nobody could say anything. (3 6 mafia for example.) also roger’s drunk ass was annoying aF in this clip.
Streezus all butt hurt lmao. Shit doesn’t change if no one tries. I’ve found so many bands through skate and surf videos which has undoubtedly progressed those artists in some way. Providing labels w raw data would go a long ways since they’re so money hungry. Or just stop using shit music and work with indie artists!
He’s such a know it all it’s nauseating. I know the music industry, and there are plenty of cool independent labels who would probably be down to work with skaters the way Rog explained.
This is the corniest-fakest podcast…. Kelly and Chris have got to be gay guys… they are way to positive 24/7… overkill laughs… scared to be real, they just have to pretend to like everything regardless of how fake and insincere,,, as long as it’s the most “positive”
“Lets watch the Dylan tribute all the way through.” “Nah let’s sidebar to 10 minutes bickering about the music industry.”
Miss Dylan man I named my son after him . No bs
You’re such a fucking legend
So they didn't talk about the video at all🤔
Hit up local and indie artists they are more then willing to release songs for free or next to nothing.
This discussion gave me anxiety lol 😂🤦🏻♂️
I literally have an entire playlist with like a hundred songs and plenty artists that I only discovered through skate videos
link it!
I was hoping to hear about the Dylan footage not music but oh well I guess
Ayo fuck the music talk about our boy dylan. Man left a beautiful legacy and this convo went else where.
R.I.P Dylan 🙏🏽💙
Best ever, RIP Dylan
Emerica made chapter 1 got me into explosions in the sky
Poor Rog always getting harped on.

Jeron “come on roger” hahaha

I love how Crob said “Hand over foot” and not “Hand over fist” 🤣🤣

RIP Wes Kremer's "Crusty By Nature" part
They takin it down?
@@bleachvisionTV It's been down, there's a fan made remix version but the Naughty By Nature version is gone
Contact Ian Mackaye of dischord records re music. Ian is a skater apart from all his other talents. I am sure you could come to an arrangement.
Talk about Dylan not the music industry. Smh.
Good conversation, but they literally didn't discuss the part past the very beginning
fact is even the artist doesn't have the contol over they own art anymore... the label has the rights
I LOVE THE KIND OF CONVERSATION. Really fun to watch.
thank you
That was about Dylan? Lol
Clicked for Dylan, this had nothing to do with Dylan…
maybe skaters should start using music for their footage where the label is more open do give time unlimited rights...
I would hate watching a skate part and then find out they switched the song lol it doesn’t feel the same even though it’s the same part 😂
Love how their talking about the music industry bs and the Acid Bath "When the Kite String Pops" album cover is in the background 🤣 I donno it's just funny to me
rog be like \m/
Y’all acting like companies don’t have the website themselves , or use Vimeo etc

Use indie artists and hire music supervisors for skate companies. License music like you would for any other film or ad
Mike Mcintire Mack Dawg brought Pennywise and NoFx punk bands to skate and snowboard vids and by befriending the bands and labels

Musicians will go with whatever gets them more money and makes them look cool.
@@HipHopBeatSource foreals. If it gets more people to listen to their shit that's all they care about. Not that it's a bad thing

Sigh. Wish they didnt make it about anything but Dylan
Please actually watch the Dylan part
Oh ok
♥️♥️♥️
Yo ill re track most historical parts for free.
i want to see y'all talking about our boy dylan, not music, come on....
