Dane Swan's final tally of 34 votes was the highest in history under the 3-2-1 system. Pre-Arizona, Swan picked up 13 Brownlow votes in 10 games, post-Arizona, Swan polled a stunning 21 votes in 11 games, polling in nine of the next 10 games on his return from Arizona. He polled votes in 14 of his 23 games, including seven three-votes performances. Swan became the eighth Collingwood player to win football's highest individual award.
