I got both these kits for my kingdom hearts display and think they’re both awesome! I do get the gripes but they’re both by far the best Buzz and Woody figures in this scale.
A little piece of foam, like the thin craft foam, inside the hat, where the hat band would be will keep it in place a lot better! I think I need to get both kits, fun builds, cool figures for some acba shots!
Got Woody and Buzz as my first model kits. Built Woody last week and had fun. He looks great but yea the hat thing is annoying and I wish they included a piece to hold the eyes into place. He looks great in different poses and I look forward to building Buzz soon.

Great video! It was fun putting together for Woody but it is a different experience for Buzz (he is very hard to assemble!!!!). P/S: I have the same issue with moving the eyes too.
Classic gundam problems. Add a little floor polish or thin joint thinkener to the sockets of the eyes, should be golden. Like you said, its a kit, will need a bit of added work here and there.. As for the arms, some Tamiya green lid glue/weld, work the joints so they dont freeze up, should keep it from flexing apart. Hobby Lobby carries that!. I hear ppl love Buzz and his spring loaded wings... just saying.. i have built gundams since the early 00s, not too many of these kits so thats where my experience is with bandai.. Keep up the great work! Always entertaining and informative!

Seems like you'd want to glue the upper sleeves in place, and maybe the shoulder plug (on the arm side) as well, depending on how much it would affect movement, just to help it stay together. Same with the eyeballs. I feel like you'd wanna get him looking where you want, then bust out the quick-set cement/super glue. Also I dunno if I'd be able to avoid permanently having 'scared face with googly eyes' as default. That mouth with the eyes being all wacky is genuinely really funny.
That's because in the movies, his hat doesn't fit onto his head. All of the woody dolls get this wrong too, the hat doesn't fit on his head, it floats above it. Hence why the model kit has those 4 tabs that stick out of the inside? Those are what the had sit on the head with, which is what makes it difficult to get the right look. I think a balljoint setup similar to the black series BB-8 would work decently, and it'd allow you to get it in the right pivot. They could have integrated that into an alternate hair piece, and it might have worked out.

Glad I’m not crazy. I also built Buzz but I could only get one of his wings to spring out. And it’s barely sprinting out . It’s easy to manipulate with your hands but still a disappointment. Hasn't deterred me from wanting to buy it, though. 😁 I think the reason Woody fails where Buzz succeeds is simply that Woody is *a cloth doll.* He doesn't translate to hardness of plastic since his movement is more floppy. I'm personally going to get this as a *modification project* and paint up some details on it. It bugs me that there's little things missing, like blue in the belt loops or the pattern onto the neckerchief. But hey, let's throw ourselves deep into hobbidom!
I hope i'm not the only one but I sure hope Bandai would make a model kit line for Marvel. Imagine having versions of iron man or war machine armors in the form of model kit🤤🤤
As fun as this looks there's just alot of paint missing and I love the articulation of the revoltech. But the bandai buzz looks leagues better than the Revo buzz and I'm really looking forward to him
Mine has some ugly gaps and I tried as hard as I could to get it to line up correctly and even then... There's some ugly gap in them that annoy the hell out of me

buzz is 1000x times better imo, also with model kits they may say no glue needed, however some times it very much is, i uses glue on the sleeves, hat and eyes and got rid of those issues thanks to it
@@Getwright- I did yes, it depend where you glue it, if you glue as far back as you can then you can remove it with some effort, one thing that might be good if you don't want to glue it is insert a tiny strong magnet into the head when building and then put a strip of magnetic tape into the hat so it holds its self down, it's what I normally do with hats for figures but I didn't have any laying around this time

Gotta be honest, I don’t really compare these model kits to actual action figures. They can look good on a shelf, but they aren’t made for playing with. They are just models and models aren’t made to be messed with after they’re built. The hat thing is a major flaw though, that’s ridiculous
Honestly, if they weren't meant to be messed with after they're built, they wouldn't put articulation in them. The sre figures with action, action figures.
Those eye decals are NOT going to hold up.. which sucks. That hat will hold just fine with some poster tac.. but it's odd they way the put a peg hole in there and nothing to attach to? I like bandai's model kits though and agree that the clean nature of it all is nice. I think the arms are removable to copy his toy story 2 look.
With a little sanding and glue, he might be better. Those ankle joints are sorry though. Maybe there's some way to mod them for better articulation. It looks fantastic. $34 on Amazon seems a little pricey to me. I'd bite at $20-$25.

I think a bit of blue tack in the peg hole of the hat would be pretty helpful as another option
Saw a video where a guy used little magnets. One in the little gap at the top of the head and one in the hat.

What about putting tiny magnets in the peg hole on the hat and under the top hair piece would that work for keeping the hat on woody??

i would try using sand paper on the eye that gets stuck. just lightly sand down inside of face plates.

If you want the hat to stay on just take a small piece of scotch tape and make a ring with it, maybe that will help without having to glue it on.
