Can't get lows on a mk1 with bellows gents. The way bellows fold when u air out causes it to rest on each other & prevents the shock shaft from bottoming out. Where as sleeves folds over when u air out which does not come in the way of the shaft bottoming out. U will also need top hat mounts if u wanna lay frame..

Look I would say it's because of the engine that's not in yet but 1) everybody else derived that already and 2) even without the engine that's still to high though, there's still something not right there man.. Fitting the engine isn't the issue, it's not a coil spring that needs all that weight to lower it. The weight of the car alone should be enough to compress the bags. So the engine weight isn't the issue here guys
Uncle late late Don't try & get the back lower as u won't be able to get the front to match the rear because the mk1 sump always prevents lows Unless u plan on going with raised engine mounts but that's s whole new game, interested to see that tho Just my experience on bagging mk1s
those bags you are using infront need some w8 on them to fully compress bro are you sure the shaft is hitting inside?... awe we have matching forhead marks lol i knocked my head on the golfs boot too lmao
