It’s extremely possible he’s begun stalking. Timeline wise he would’ve been released from the mental facility a few years earlier, and by the time we see him in Season 1 of the OG he basically already knows everything about Dexter including the details of his kills and rituals. There’s no reason this COULDN’T be Brian.
@@metalfan421 Nah I didn’t mean to imply confirmation, but the fact that someone would say Brain doesn’t know where Dexter is at this point is kinda weird
The show creators must know that we were expecting Doakes, but my hope is that season 1 will be a big enough hit to land a second season where perhaps Doakes comes in then? They did say he was in the military so that could be explained why he isn’t in season 1.
@@ionutcristian9650ngl dude I thought the same about anyone else capturing Dexters mannerisms and energy and Gibson is killing it rn. I also thought Batista was pretty unreplaceable but they did that too, this young Batista is killing it too.
I've been watching episode 3 on the side monitor, while working, and just hearing LaGuerta is eerie. She sounds EXACTLY like the original actress. The voice, the manner of talking. Everything
Why would Brian wait? To allow Dexter's "dark passenger" to take root and evolve on it's own Could be the producers put that actor there to look that way to make the audience talk... and possibly set something up later
I'd have to watch the original series again because I can't remember if it was confirmed or not when Brian knew Dexter was a serial killer like him. I mean it wouldn't be impossible for them to have crossed paths once before, Miami is huge but it's possible, especially if at that time he just knew that was his little brother and nothing else. Maybe in a future episode we will see the same person in a small role, no names just a nod to the fans saying "This is when Brian started following Dexter when he found out that he was his brother" with him seeing Dexter taking out some trash etc. The fact he was able to trick Deb, Dexter, many other cops shows he had a high level of intelligence and cunning equal to or superior to that of Dexter but his inner need to have a connection to his brother made him messy. I mean... just look at how he was written for the original series and what he accomplished, right? Wouldn't be beyond imagination to think he played the long game or originally decided against breaking the ice (ba dum tssssss) and contacting him because he was a killer and was honing his craft, or maybe conflicted that he was a killer and didn't want to bring his baby brother into that world or ruin the what he saw was a happy life he felt Dexter was living, until he found out his brother is just like him, opening the door to planning the ice truck murders. OR it was just an absolute casting coincidence and all of us are reading too much into it.
I thought she did pretty good playing the young Deb, i mean a role like that no matter who you get to play her a lot of people are going to say she isn't good enough 🍻🍺
@ yeah I guess. I just watched episode 4 last night and she was making my blood boil. There’s a scene where Dexter and Harry are talking about a child they found dead. And she came in and made it all about herself because she became the captain of her volleyball team.
I like this show so far. I think the casting is good. Batista and Masuka is perfect. I was sceptical about Harry new casting but I like him too. Dexter and Debra are good but they kind of doesn't look like the original actors Patrick Gibson does look like Michael C Hall but Debra does not look like the Debra from original show. But they got the mannerisms and personality perfect. I still think it's Brian in the restaurant scene and I have seen some comments saying that Brian wanted to test Dexter that Dexter does remember him and the past which I think makes sense. Overall so far the show is 8.5/10.
Brian is probably looking for his brother and we will find out he didn't know that was Dexter or he wasn't sure. He might have more than one potential. Its not current day with internet access and all the info at your fingertips. So yes its definitely Brian. But he either doesn't know who Dexter is yet OR he isn't ready to confront him because he's not become his own final form of the Ice Truck killer
I've been pleasantly surprised by how well the new, younger cast have picked up on all the original actor's wee character nuances. New Masuka is eerily similar and has nailed rhe laugh. The actor playing younger Dexter is crushing it too and I think is helped by the Michael C Hall narration which brings continuity to it all, although the new actor has really pinned down the cadence of how Dexter talks in the original show. Batista and LaGuerta absolutely spot on too. Always felt Deb was the weakest character in the original series so her new actor has the hardest job but she's doing a good job of making the character believable and empathetic given she's completely ignored by her family.
That’s how they introduced Brian in the og show too though, just some rando dr helping the amputee. It makes perfect sense to me. Why even have that scene unless it services the story somehow with a guy that even speaks in the same rhythm as Brian moser
Brian may have been working up the courage to get back into Dexter’s life. We know he must’ve stalked Dexter for a while for him to know he was a serial killer.
It's also bizarre for a complete stranger to ask if a seat at a table for four is taken. I have never, in my life, been out at a restaurant or a bar and been seated at a table like that or a bench and had anyone ask me if one of my seats were available.
2:56 i think it was brian and he knew where dexter was for a long while, but didnt know if dexter was a killer as well and didnt want to establish a relationship with someone he couldnt truly relate to, opting to just keep an eye on him instead. And when the actual dexter show comes out he figures out that dexter is a killer and thus begins socialising with him.
I didn't know this show was coming out. And I randomly rewatched the Dexter series this year. And when I had a look at the new show. For me the casting felt so jarring. Not because the actors are bad, just because my brain is struggling to accept the change. PS: To be fair the actor they picked seems like a better fit for 'young dex' more so than the original actor having a 'teen hairdo' like they did in the original show. lol
@@LaughingLuLu I will wait a bit before diving into the show to let the 'shock' fade away. Dexter was such a great show I hope this does it justice in the long run. :) Great video btw!
Well I mean in the beginning of the video I do say that this video is my thoughts on the 2 new episodes of the show. I think the title just fit because its how I felt about all the characters, and more works as addon to my last video on dexter original sin. Idk if that makes sense but it made sense in my head when I was making the video.
Nothing to do with the looks for me (although, Bautista’s cosplayer is actually kind of hilarious - completely takes me out of it every time I see him), they’re like parodies of the original cast - without any of the charisma

Brian and Harry could secretly interact @metalfan421

I'm hoping for it.
