What I’m learning is maybe my lack of having a system is why year after year I’ve felt like I’ve wasted money on planners that I didn’t use functionally well
Hello Alaina, Thank you for this vlogmas series, I have been taking notes and watching all of the series. I have three questions 1: How to keep momentum and not fall off the wagon? 2: How to make your planner useful and applicable? 3: How to stay motivated during and after planning? I will also like to join the Organized U community and get help for planning and organization in my life. Thank you for a great youtube channel.❤❤
THIS IS BRILLIANT!!. I love to organize and have routines and habits and trackers. But always struggled to keep up cause I never used them the way you showed in this video. Thank you so much.
Thank you for this video, I need to simplify my system, too much duplication which means that there is unnecessary repetition. This is a great food for thought video on how to organize the different areas.
Thank you for sharing your organization system. I am definitely on my organizing journey this season of life. I am finding the restructuring of my hectic schedule to be difficult. For the moment what is working is taking very small post it flags to write all of my to dos on then moving them around my schedule as needed until I can get everything done. So far it's been keeping me flexible, but getting me more towards a structured planning system. Work in progress 😊 Thank you for your videos
I'd love a video on how to become more of a paper planner vs digital. I gravitate toward digital but really want to move into more paper based to avoid screens and just all the other pros that come with that!
Goodmorning 😁 Alina. I'm for sure a paper girl. I've also started a brain storming section in my daily planner.. its been a game changer. Thanks for all the great tips
This may be the single most valuable video of yours that I have watched! Although I am very detail-oriented myself, the level of detail in most of your videos seems daunting to me and I don't see that I would keep up with it. This video, on the other hand, took me through a series of valuable questions. I found I have most of the parts you suggest in a manner that works for me. There were 2 areas I realized were weak points, however. I'm still actively working on trying to find ways to build new habits and to consistently use a habit tracker, while battling resistance. That one I was pretty aware of, and work towards improving most of the time. The other area was where I put information I need to refer back to year after year (things that involve dates mostly, such as birthdays and anniversaries, but also certain types of lists). This one I find I'm less aware of, although it comes to the top whenever I need this type of information and have to go searching through a bunch of notebooks, journals, and planners. I've decided to choose and dedicate an identifiable notebook for all "long term" information, and for that only. (No using it to write about a video or to answer workbook questions as I watch a webinar, for example.) So, thank you! This was very helpful to me.
Thanks, I have a system now! I'm going back to paper after a year of digital planning. I can customize my planner, keeping my needs at the forefront, not just using the layout designers create.
My preferred form of Organization : Paper planner My Brainstorming Process : I use note taking app in my cellphone for brainstorming ideas when away from paper planner but prefer paperback most of the time Information Store : I retain my old planners I don't know what you mean by year over year. Can you explain?? I however make use of google suite of tools for retaining documents and archives What will I do when I'm busy? If not daily I do weekly review, migrate tasks as needed. I prefer to finish all tasks within a particular week not more than one month When things don't go as planned - We can do review end of day, migrate tasks to closest possible day in my planner Complete routines and habits - Review planner and update tracker daily
I'm going to attempt hourly next year rather than traditional vertical split into sections and see how that goes. My only problem with hourly is there are a lot of hours that I can't guarantee. I work retail; I don't know exactly what time I am going to get off. I go to college an hour or so away and never know how long it is going to take me to drive home. If I have to stop to get gas, that experience could take anywhere from 10- 35 minutes. All of this alone makes it really hard to plan the rest of my day and I'm not sure how to get around that.
What I’m learning is maybe my lack of having a system is why year after year I’ve felt like I’ve wasted money on planners that I didn’t use functionally well
I totally agree!
This was the reason for me many years ago. Now I can't function without the system.🤦♀️👑💄💋

You can add white space or gaps in your day for traveling and time you aren’t sure about

I love you so much
