Nanci was an Angel on Earth, as I'm hoping she is now in Heaven. She was as unblemished, untainted as one can be in the world of recording. I'm sure she sacrificed much by not allowing herself to be pigeon-holed into musical categories or 'sexed up' and marketed like other female recording artists. Rest in Peace, Nanci. You are much loved.

I found Nanci after she had passed. I have to say that I love that gal. Lone Star Frame of Mind always picks me up. I think when I moved to BC, Canada from Ontario way back in 1971 I would have traveled to TEXAS to see her. YES, I would have become a "ROADEE". ....B. Simpson, Pender Island, BC, Canada.

I encountered her with Iris DeMent, John Prine, the Chieftains, Emmylou Harris. Primarily John Prine. The more I poke and prod around folk-country-rock-a-billy the more gems and characters I find. We lost several to life choices, accidents, or age. We've lost more, including Nanci, and John Prine in this damned plague.

More Lone Star gold from Nanci. Love the look back at the drummer. Interestingly she is trying real hard not to hit those guitar strings on her Guild! Is it because she is doing a live vocal against a backing track and she's trying to keep her vocal track clean?
