What a tragic truth. I have recently moved to this area and am keen to learn about the land and the areas First Nations history. It's devastating to hear, but it's important to learn about and acknowledge.

For 65,000+ years the First Nations ppl have walked this land. All humans die & return to the land & become dust. For 65,000 these ppl have been absorbed by the country we walk on. When we walk on this country it’s important to be thankful to the Ancestors even if you aren’t blood tied, it’s important to be thankful & respectful of the land you are stepping on & interacting with. We must not leave rubbish on the land etc.
Much love to you Sis for being open minded to learning.
      🙏

Has anyone searched the area with a metal detector? If hundreds were killed there should be hundreds of lead shots, possibly some human remains as well.

Thank you for speaking about the details of these places... we need to know them and recognise them. It's like the movie "High Ground" - there are ways to show these stories to reckon with Australia's past and give proper respect and remembrance to the fallen and what the land and her people have seen.
