@@BullDeerAryu_ it's just a joke. Yannic the dev of Zeepkist flew from Netherlands to Canada to meet several of his now youtubers friends (Kan, Kosmonaut and Dapper) and to assist to Kan's wedding. It's my full time job.
I didn't even know you could just stick yourself approximately close enough to the train and it works. Now I have to experiment a bit as well as it seems to be fairly consistent seeing how kAN just throws himself at the train not even turning towards where you'd usually want to land.
@@AWriterWandering that would mean the bounding box where you can ride the train (cart) was spherical. But yes it's probably that simple - a rectangular bounding box that is bigger than the carts to make sure players don't get thrown off just because they missed it by a hair (tho in some cases here kAN wasn't even touching the platform so maybe Yannic should make them a bit smaller)
One thing train logic needs is speed controllers and single-use gates. This way you can have more variable times. Imagine at a checkpoint is a "nitro gate", which, when the player hits it, speeds up the train, and on the track there is a nitro gate that when the train hits it, it slows down the train back to it's non-nitro state. These de-nitro gates would be like "train checkpoints" so that the train is keeping up with how fast you make it to your player checkpoints.

In regards to recording videos right before your wedding, It is important in those days leading up to such an event, to take some time (if you can) to relax and de-stress, have a bit of fun. So long as doing so doesn't interfere with the wedding that is. It's a happy occasion, but can be stressful as well. Congratulations!
On the paraglider topic: in the same space as the paraglider checkpoint, you could have a logic gate that disables some integral part of the track (like the station door), or you could put a giant rock around the finish (my personal favourite); there's options. :) As always, I *love* the logic tracks, and can't wait to see what else you come up with. But more importantly, congrats on the wedding! 🎉 Your bride's a lucky gal
Im so happy for you kAN, have an incredible wedding! Also, wow, you guys really became best friends with Yannic, he's traveling really far to come to your wedding and meet some of the guys (wish scrap could come, unless he is...) but I love that you all developed such great friendships by playing games together and talking online.
Being able to stick to the train on any part of it makes me think of a kacky track where you have to hook onto different trains at weird angles and let go at the right time to grab the next one
A track where a train is constantly riding alongside it and uses the train as part of the track. Like a jump to the train and then halfway to a tunnel/cave and back to the train. Basically alternating between track and train. And for the finish, maybe a cool cinematic run when you have to race to the finish before the train crosses your path.
Congrats on getting hitched! July 31st will be 8yrs for my wife and I! Really happy you're making more Zeepkist content even with how busy you are. Best wishes and congrats again!
Didn't get to be there in the lobby but I'll definitely go and play the track. I find the train and paraglider tracks to be quite fun and enjoyable to do and perform on
"Let me know what you guys think" I think getting married is pretty cool :) congratulations Very cool that Yannic is visiting for it too! Hopefully everyone has a great time
Congratulations on the wedding. I have to say, this has proven to be an amazing update for your tracks. Both of the train puzzle maps seem really cool and they have a nice progression. Since you've done one that requires timing and one that requires finding, I really want to see one based on thinking, by which I mean one where you have to apply logic and you don't want to just switch all the switches.
You were likely 2 seconds further up on the train. The first time you were on the 3 train car but that second time you were on the engine. That would have saved you at least a second or 2
That is awesome hope it's a good one and congrats :p and it's awesome to hear that you and unique get on that well that he flow over to Canada for you he always sounded like an awesome guy but that is ace :p
Congrats KAN! Also I bet I know how justmaki shaved two seconds off, they managed to latch onto the train at the very front so the train was pushing them in front of it.
Kaaaaan! Ok, I had to do that. Congrats btw, but related to these videos, couple thoughts. I love what you are doing with the logic items, but it seems a little arbitrary to touch a certain green translucent cube and that makes a more direct route for the train... So without any modifications to the game, perhaps there could be a model of a gun or a hammer or something to suggest that it's breaking the rock and allowing the train path to work....but given that you can literally talk to the dev, there's the somewhat obvious and more complicated idea of entities having health and their being a thing you could drive through to give you a gun... Then, there's the more creator oriented version of entities that when they receive a logic signal doing an animation, for example a cannon that when it receives a signal shoots a ball or firework.. the thought being you drive by a cannon and it animates firing, then a rock that's blocking the track didn't just disappear, but crumbles.... Anyway have an awesome wedding man!
I randomly click on a video once a while ago and now I get to hear about the creator of the game I subbed to watch kan play going to kan’s wedding. Fantastic.
a 2 lap map where you have to hit the triggers on the worst possible angles (going wide/inside 90s) in order to open shortcuts the second time around. its more of a mind bender as taking those bad angles every other time is gonna catch people off guard tricking them into accidently taking bad corners the second time around.
Wait wait wait, Yannic went to your wedding??? First of all, congrats, I wish you two long and loving lives! But second, woah that's cool and really great of him to come. Now, about them future Zeep collabs...
Do a "Subway Station Blitz" track. You start/quickly get on a train and it pulls up to a station. You then get off the train, race to the next station (leave the subway through town and into the next), get back on the train, and ride it to the finish. If the entire train is flatbeds/open cars what car you make it onto will add variation to the times.
I think some advice for improvement on this maps concept is to put the "clear path" trigger first, then the "switch track" trigger. I also think you should make a habit of making the hardest tricks at the start of a track instead of at the end, it would make a fail at the hardest trick feel less bad and you wouldn't lose so much time just getting to it to try again. PS, asset ideas based on juat this track. Semaphore (mentined) Lever, like you might see as a rail switch. Dynamite bundle. detonator plunger like those old/cartoon ones! Small colorable flag so that you can mark things like the dynamite bundles. (Assuming one doesn't already exist, I don't play the game.)
Congrats on you upcoming wedding. If you ever come out to Southern California and want to drive a real train, let me know. I had Hyce here a few months ago for a tour.

I feel it would be better if the trigger boxes could be moved freely to anywhere. Now they kind of have to be at certain positions related to the object they are modifying. Also different colours, shapes, icons, etc. for the trigger boxes could help with recognising different behaviours.
Kan, you shouldn't rely on people using photo-mode. That's a really bad crutch. Instead, make your color coding REALLY big so it's easier to notice at a glance/high speeds. Like, put a GIANT cylinder under the train signal thats almost flush with the ground but like. . . a pixel above. This way there is a big color-coded circle under the train signals that is more easy to see at fast speeds. Alternatively, you can just use text like Yannic does.
