Its always a weird feeling when you hear a song years ago and then suddenly you hear it again and it fits your current life scenario so perfectly. queens of the stone age kicks ass by the way
Perfectly put! That's exactly what I'm going through lately. I grew up on all types of music; classic rock, metal, grunge, electronic music, hip hop, jam bands, the Dead, and have damn near gone and seen most of the bands from the 90's and early 2000's, and classic rock bands that would pop up to tour again. When this album came out in 2002 and videos would be put out, which I only remember being maybe 3 or so and of course the song No One Knows, which I thought was good but wasn't great at the time but I liked it. I liked it way more than what Dave was doing, which I still have never really gotten into except a few songs like Everlong, and I was never thinking Queens were great or anything. There was a ton of bad rock that came out mid 2k up until now, with a few bands I would consider here and there. I had probably heard KYUSS when I was younger also but overlooked it. Now lately I've been on some weird Josh Homme kick, and realizing this man is a genius, his lyrics can go deep, and he's probably the only musician keeping music alive, and to get JPJ's of Led Zep to play in your band, getting Mark Lanegan back right around when Layne passed (jeez, wish he stayed around but that's how he wanted it I suppose) who Josh already knew from Trees which I Hadn't known (RIP) and Dave of course and all these talented musicians who are still pushing great rock music, it's amazing I didn't give them more attn back in 98, I was just heavy into drum n bass at the time and thought rock was dying out. Now I listen to his body of work up until now and am blown away, and wondering why I wasn't feeling it as much back then, but now their epic music is in my head all of the time! It's right in that sweet spot and seems like he (and his band members at the time) can bend the songs and go in any direction they feel like, which takes real genius level musicianship to plan out and produce. Now I'm rambling lol, this songs give me a natural rush.

This whole album is so great. The songs all mesh so well and Dave's drumming is at its absolute peak in creativity and execution. Technical but also fun to play and makes you feel like a total bad ass when you feel the vibe and fuckin nail it.
@@speedking7224 I think Gene definitely wrote and recorded the drum track for this song, the credit 100% goes to him, but the playing seems like Grohl. I've got a feeling they had Grohl play Gene's parts for the album like they did when they re-recorded In Bloom for Nevermind with Chad Channing's parts. I could be wrong though.

Track accepting life's changes and going with the flow. It encourages us to let go of our traditional ways of approaching a situation and to accept the unpredictable nature of life. It also encourages us to take risks and to embrace the unknown and have faith in ourselves to create something new and beautiful. In the song, the narrator reflects on being able to break out of old thought patterns and embracing change, even if it means making mistakes. The chorus emphasizes the idea of accepting the unpredictability of life and letting go of control and going with the flow.
I love this line but I like the next one better, Shakespeare says "it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" Josh Homme says "Lose is more than hesitate"
First heard this about 10 years ago on Gran Tourismo 4 as a kid. I've been a huge QotSA fan ever since. I have all of their studio albums, not to mention how they influenced me as a musician Hope I get to see them live while they're still around :/

I'm going to see QOTSA live by the end of August at the French festival Rock En Seine and listening to their songs is only increasing this great moment!
love how many interpretations this song gets from people, theres a romantic angle, a punk angle, and more all with their own idiosyncrasies to them, which are all further detailed in the other tracks on the album
