Hi, officer, here. Separating work from home is not easy. And you'll never fully be able to separate them. One thing that kinda works for me, at work, I only use my last name, whereas, once I'm home, I use my first name. It signals my brain that I'm home and it's okay. Then there are days/weeks where I'm just in a headspace of paranoia. Comes and goes
Fun Fact: Nicholas Cage didn't do any research or even any actual acting. He just turned up as-is in his own clothes, being himself ... And they just filmed him! 🤨😂😂🇬🇧
I think we can all agree here, Nicholas Cage is a very talented actor when it comes to horror and this movies marketing was insane, to explain the company who made the movie released small videos with the whole thing sometimes staring at a window or with one of them inside of a house, with small bits of dialog repeating itself until you see the title card and release date and sometimes you can see things if u stay through the whole thing
Funny enough, the insane over hype was all from preview screenings. Once the general public was able to see it, people settled down on it. That being said, the overhype actually under hyped it for me. People were saying that ‘this is the most evil, dark, disturbing film ever made’, or some people said shit like ‘this film is so scary that it’s proof that Satan exists’. From those comments I thought ‘there’s no fucking way it’s even remotely scary they’re just trying to build hype to get people to watch it’, then I watched it and it really got under my skin! Absolutely one of the most unsettling films I’ve ever seen.
I didn’t catch almost any of them first watch, but there are a LOT of shots with the devil shadow in the background! It blew my mind when I rewatched looking for it, reminded me of Hill House.
I thought the third act was cool. Just enough creepy thriller mixed with supernatural to leave you never wanting to trust the presence of any doll in your house. A+ editing and costume changes. I'm pre-awarding you for best TH-cam content creator Halloween costume of 2024, because knowing your Art, it's yours to lose 🏆
People who hated the third act expected this movie to be Silence of the Lambs, but the other promotional material clearly foreshadowed a supernatural explanation for this film's events.
I didn’t know how to feel about this film straight out of cinema, but I think it’s a breath of fresh air. I’ve had enough of cheap jumpscares in my lifetime, this is what thrillers need.
It is the girl from It Follows. Speaking of which l, they have a sequel in the works and I’m beyond excited for called “They Follow”. I believe it still has Maika Monroe in it.
Pug can you do 'Last Night in Soho'? Its not that scary and i promise, but its just sad how that movie only have few reactions 😢 its one of my fav movies
This movie just gets better and better with rewatches! If you like Maika Monroe too, I would highly recommend Watcher (2022), super unsettling slow burn thriller Also glad to see the TH-cam algorithm has stopped kicking your ass so much.
Thank you ! I LOVE the effort you put into your videos . Those shots of you in hall were perfection ! And of course LOVE those MILO cameos ! you made my Friday so much better. THANK YOU!
There were many devils hidden throughout the film. It's so fun watching people catch/ notice certain ones and miss others lol Also, Lee Harker's character never swings her arms when she walks which perfectly adds to her awkwardness.
I missed almost all of the devil in the background shots the first time I watched. I guess I’m a dumbass. In all fairness though, they did hide him very well. The fact that he’s around in the background so much makes the movie creepier.
Hey man, as a horror fan i'm glad a quite big reactor like you still does horror films, a lot of reactors just do it for the popular titles and then dipped from horror eventually. Keep doing this!
I think scary is the wrong word, I think this movie is the epitome of unsettling. The way Longlegs acts, the cloaked devil, the devil in the background. Subtle terrors. I loved this movie I just felt like it was a solid, original horror, and I think that's the best thing it can be!
8:56 one of my parent's was a homicide detective for a good chunk of my childhood so I feel pretty confident in answering this. Sleep, lots of sleep, very long nights, you're always working so the little time you get alone/with family is the only time you get to not think about it. Emotional detachment, they don't cry at anything. The last time I knew they cried was at our family dog dying, and I wasn't there to see it. Which is understandable when you've seen bodies decomposing through floors and into rooms under them. Dogs? They fucking love their dogs, I've never in my life known them when they haven't had a dog. Me, they can fixate on my life and raising me even though I'm an adult. I don't know if that actually is something that does anything but I speculate. I will also clarify that every cop is different and they aren't given in depth instructions on how to deal with their work beyond training. This is just my observation on them and the interactions I've had with their coworkers. There's other reasons why but it's personal and with the social climate on cops and my parents privacy I won't broadcast that publicly, but my inbox is open lol. Also I'm not making excuses the system is very flawed, they don't even require therapy for police which says alot. But I have a ton of info on what homicide detectives are like, it was my childhood and is a daily topic in my life. Regardless, I love them alot, they became a cop before ( a large amount) of people became cops to piss off (black mainly) people, which I find more common now. They genuinely wanted to help people. Anyways this was long winded I apologize.
I read all of this and truly appreciate the time you spent to write this out as I was genuinely curious. Thank you so much for writing it our and telling me about your experiences, I promise it wasn't too long 😊
This movie in a nutshell is 3.5% Nicolas Cage 40% detective work 30% driving 20% actual scary shit 10% Maika Monroe malfunctioning (seriously, the way she potrays Lee as almost like a robot with the way she examines things and moves her head is great)
This film is a Rorschach test to gauge whether you see the possibly the best haunted doll movie ever made or the most disappointing dark FBI procedural. I see the former.
I watched this film with my brother and afterwards he said we needed to watch more Nicholas Cage movies so we watched Willy’s Wonderland which is very similar to FNAF! I would highly recommend the movie if you haven’t seen it! 😅
I REALLY enjoyed this movie and was glad to see it mostly blind without any of the hype ruining it for me. I was glad it wasn't a conventional horror film either. My only complaint was that the ending felt rushed and we could have used a couple more minutes of closure maybe? I dunno. But otherwise a VERY good movie that was very unsettling, disturbing and all the more that because of how it was shot.
Yeah baby...loved this movie, luv u too Pugga (platonically 😊)! I agree the film wasn't the scariest of all time, but come on...considering "Psycho" came out in 1960, that's a tall freakin' order right...but honestly I've seen at least a dozen different reactions to it so far & yours is by far my fave. Bless your dirty little heart, Alex!
Awesome reaction!!!! Dying!! If u liked this the same people did “the Black coats daughter” and it’s soooo much like this and creepy AF more bloody too! FYI you missed the devil horns and all in a bunch of those dark clips , it’s well worth a rewatch!
I wouldn't say it's the scariest, but it's definitely the creepiest movie I've watched in a while. It's the first time Nic Cage has truly creeped me out. Buy that man a beer.
This was Nicholas Cages's creppiest performance ever. What give me the feeling of being unsettled was the part of the movie when he was signing toward Lee and her mother. If i were in their situation, i would stand 20 feet away from Longlegs, while holding a gun pointing at him with one hand, and calling the police with the other.
some spoilers in this comment* if you think about how at the end you find out the devil is basically always over her shoulder hinting to her "like a tap on the shoulder" it really makes a lot of the wide shots of just her lower in the frame so much creepier on a second watch. Like she is framed very low and with a wide lens many times throughout the film and thats all I can think about re watching this movie that the devil is also there right behind her basically manipulating her. Also another random thing when it comes to the mom the first time we see her she looks eerily just like longlegs with her sickly pale appearance and later in the film she looks quite normal. Kind of hinting to us she's the accomplice with all the clues by the basement door as well.
I actually came into this with pretty low expectations bc I HATED Blackcoat’s Daughter, for many reasons… but I really enjoyed this one. There are a few plot holes (like, nobody thought “OH RUBY’S BIRTHDAY IS ON THE EXACT DAY, HMM”) but I loved the atmosphere, cinematography, acting, script, etc. Excited to watch again w you!
I love this movie. I may be a bit biased tho cause im a nic cage fan. The beginning and the mid part are very good and after long legs dies it becomes mixed opinions for many. I found it an ok ending. Not too much nic cage and not too little. Lot of good acting and ofc our man himself nick being one of the actors of all time. Interrogation scene is dedinetly the highlight for me. And while not being the most horrifying horror movie it still had good and disturbing moments
10:11 why would you need to check your birth certificate to know your birthday? Even if your birth occured between two days, that would only apply if you were born one day before or after the 14th.
Of course it's normal for some people to be psychic and even know things like numbers. For me it's normal. The actress said she played the role with an autistic person in mind. And she did well. Autistic aren't creeps.
Beautiful movie. If you eliminate a boring ego of “I know movies and have an opinion”, it’s amazing. Great shots, great casting, solid atmosphere. 6.8? Nope. 7.4
12:43 Bro my heart actually dropped I was not expecting that LOL

Respect.

@@Puggapillar don’t worry, Alex it’s OK at least the only thing that was scary in this video was your hair
I'm convinced that Nic Cage's character in this movie is even more unhinged than his character in Face/Off!

Nick as Longlegs is like Colin Farrell as Penguin.
Amazing makeup!
My birthday is January 14, same as the main character. When i saw this in the theater, and her birthday popped up, i was like 😬🤣🤣🤣
damn RIP
Mine too 😂 I turned to my wife in the theater and told her she was gonna miss me when long legs found me. I'm a full grown man for context lol
