    Chris asking who would use one of the sleep pods and making a joke about it being only TH-camrs, and me laughing as I recall Connor using one in a recent video.

    I love the vibe in Izakayas, you sit at the bar and just chat up random people, on my last trip I visited 4 izakayas and in 2 of them I got offered drinks by the locals.
    On my last izakaya visit, inspired by the generosity of locals, I also felt inclined of sharing my food and drinks with the folks I've sat next to

    I will never forget the crazy night I had in Osaka this year. Some 50 year old Japanese guy took me and my small group out to a club and spent literally $2000 for us. We had our own private lounge and Champagne non stop 😂 it was an incredible night hahaha

    Pete is indeed insane for travelling with just one bag. Like he said I already know he's going to end up getting a suitcase in Japan anyway. How else are you gonna bring back all the goodies?

      @fallansaint Think of it like this. If you only do 20 minute binges of the show, then each episode will allow you to have 3 servings if they were hourly episodes. You'd be eating like a king.

    I did 16 days in Japan with a backpack and a sling. it's not as bad as some people would have you think. you're only hauling it between destinations, and then you leave it at the hotel while you're out exploring for the day with just the vital things in a sling or packable day pack.
    actually doing it again when I go back in February, and I got an even smaller pack than the big osprey bag I took last time.

    • @undercrisis
      @undercrisis ปีที่แล้ว

      It only starts being miserable as you get the souvenir creep. Which to be fair will happen to most tourists coming to Japan,as it did to me.

    • @alexrammed
      @alexrammed ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Did same for 21 days back in Feb-March. Now going in September with same back pack. You don't need a lot of stuff. Socks and underpants for 5-7 days, clothes for 3-4 days, wash it in coin laundry when needed (about 200-300yen per wash load). What else would you really need there? Just buy it there on the spot. Stuff is not that expensive. Even suitcases can be bought as low as 6000-7000 yen, and not a bad ones at that.

    • @MUSHIN_888
      @MUSHIN_888 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Is it crowded in February? I went in December 2022 and it wasn’t that crowded. Then December 2024 was very crowded. U reckon February since it is in middle of winter it’s less crowded?

    • @ubernewb3005
      @ubernewb3005 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MUSHIN_888 I just got home from spending almost all of December in Tokyo and the Osaka area, and most places I went weren't too bad. One thing that might have helped was the fact that I went to a lot of the busier temples and shrines later in the evening vs the day when most people go. shrines at night are so serene and peaceful it's like a completely different experience.
      when I made my first trip in February of last year, it seemed like every place I went was just packed. my biggest mistake was going to universal studios on a Sunday, where ride lines were well over an hour (with a few pushing 3 hours) Disney Sea on a Thursday was a little better, but not by much. same went with the different shrines and such I visited.

    I accidentally booked my last trip during golden week and landed in Tokyo Friday. It really was not too bad except for the train back from Harajuku back to Shinjuku. That is the only time I’ve ever really been packed in a train. The fear of going during golden week is a bit overblown imo.

    • @SpinningTurtle66
      @SpinningTurtle66 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I went during Golden Week and it was fine. I get that people like to go to places when they’re empty and quiet, but if you want to go to the largest city in the world then crowds are pretty much unavoidable lol
      Like you I was only on an absolutely packed train once, and it was also in one of the super touristy places

    Hoping Pete has a great time on his trip to Japan! I do wish though that people would learn a little bit about the water that's going to be released to the ocean. Kyle Hill has a great video on it. In total, they're going to be adding 3 grams of that radioactive material to the pacific ocean over the course of 7+ years. The pacific ocean has 8000+ already.
