I think it’s a great piece
Yes! Been waiting for this quartet.
Where is the original recording? This is my favorite version but it constantly fluctuates slightly in pitch as though it was recorded from a faulty record player.
Beautiful
I suppose it's not an 'angry' piece, the way some more 'serious' works are, but it's lovely. Almost classicistic, too, which is interesting to see.
This quartet is like that of Joseph Haydn or Beethoven set of 6 op 18.

I didn't like it, it feels like it doesn't take itself serious
what does that even mean?
@Jerf Hankell This is obviously not the best of Strauss, but this is still a beautiful work, if anyone were to compose this today, they would be deserving of great esteem, especially if they were 17, like Strauss was. It does sound like he is trying to operate under inspiration from Brahms and Mendohlson, but he does it beautifully, both in orchestration and theme nonetheless.
@Jerf Hankell oh lol
Strauss' music never takes itself seriously. Isn't that great?
@@nickweems24 Can you guys actually develop a real criticism instead of saying bull shit stuff like "it doesn't take itself seriously" since when does music discuss what it takes seriously? like wtf. Please say something that actually makes sense.
