    Thank you! I suffered for years and almost died a few years ago from an antibiotic resistant strain of bacteria. I healed myself after quitting pharmaceutical antibiotics and switching to herbal medicine and other integrative methods. I'm happy to be pain free and healthy but I'm still upset that I had these options all along and I only heard about them from a friend and had to do all the research and experimentation on myself while in severe pain with recurring UTIs. My pain is gone and I'm immensely grateful for my health - but my soul hurts for everyone else who is needlessly suffering without any idea that there are options. I'm in a B.S. program now in college for public health education and promotion with a focus on integrative health and I'm nearing the end of the program but not sure how to move forward yet. I keep coming back to the idea of being an ND but it makes me nervous going into debt for it. I may look into physical therapy to shift my career sooner and start making money to save for more school later but not sure yet. This video made me happy and gave me hope for this as a future career. Thanks for making it!

      First, look at the accredited schools from the AANMC (naturopathic.org), and then you can start reaching out to the different schools. Federal funding is available and the schools can help you with that!

    Hello! Im looking into going to school for Naturopathy (or Herbalism) but I would really like to move to Australia. Does anyone have any advice on whether studying in the US or Australia is better? Schooling in Australia is much cheaper but does it grant me the same scope of practice? I have been getting a lot of mixed information on whether Naturopaths can prescribe meds in Australia. Also If I were to study in Australia, would I ever be able to then practice in the states? Thank you!

      I'm not sure on the scope of practice in Australia, but I do know that you can't practice in the US after going to school in Australia.

      I'm not doing any telemedicine, as my workup is heavily centered around the hands on physical assessment. You can learn more here - regenerativeperformance.com/contact

    i am currently receiving my bachelor's degree in Alternative medicine, and hopefully, attending the southwest college of naturopathic medicine. Do you have any suggestions on successfully getting accepted into the school

      Best of luck! Just be yourself in the interview! It can be an intimidating process for sure, but just remember to relax and focus on your strengths.

    I went to an accredited school out of state and am a Naturopathic doctor. I went back to my home state and wish I could practice but Tennessee won't let me. I know.of another Naturopath (not sure if she went to an accredited school) near me and she practices. How does she get away with this. Is there a loophole I'm not understanding?

    • @DrewTimmermansND
      @DrewTimmermansND  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Naturopathic doctors are not licensed in TN, so if someone is claiming they are a naturopathic doctor and practicing medicine in TN that could be huge problems.
      Even if someone went to an accredited school (meaning AANMC accredited), you can't practice medicine in TN. Some people will go to an unaccredited school/program (non-AANMC program) and then will practice and claim they are a naturopathic doctor, which is also a big issue.
      No legal loopholes. In TN, Naturopathic Doctors cannot practice medicine.

      You can be a practicing Naturopath but you cannot diagnose the patients.

      In unlicensed states, correct. This is a big problem though, we need more regulation so we don't have people people who shouldn't be 'practicing' seeing 'patients'

    And yet you are quite comfortable essentially calling traditional Naturopaths "quacks"....as if that's not what MD's call YOU. Smarter to join forces with those who work for natural healing against the drug pushers, I think.
