      @alpha beta Are you a reporter for a red top newspaper (aka gutter press)? You know the sort that likes to bring people down but hise the skeltons in their own cupboards in fear of their hypocrisy been seen. Or maybe you are just perfect?

      @alpha beta You need to stay off the internet you are completely deluded and brainwashed with conspiracy theories. Everything you have just said is wrong. I can't believe there are actually people like you around its scary. You've convinced yourself that you've unlocked some 'new truth' with your wacky conspiracies. I bet you also believe that the government is run by alien lizardmen and you probably tell everyone who disagrees with you to ''open their eyes".

      alpha beta No but he uses the same verbiage New World Order the globalist taking over. He just does it for money in his pocket because talking about it solves nothing. You could say oh he’s bringing awareness to the subject bruh who doesn’t know the 1% run the world people may not know the details but you’d have to be living under a rock for the last thousand years to not know that shit.

    I love the way Brain Cox can't stop smiling when he talks about science. It really shows he has massive amounts of passion on the subject. I didn't understand some of this video (granted his way of explaining is fantastic and I understood lots more than I thought I would) but I could just watch him talk about science all day, watching someone with that much passion just commands attention, even if you don't get it.

    • @nicoleshabayum1137
      @nicoleshabayum1137 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If quality lies in resonance, then it should prove interesting to quantify it, somehow -- if this were a unisonic interview, we should also be able to compose harmonic interviews, or dissonant ones. By this line of reasoning, perhaps a lot of interviews fail because they're simply out of key.

    I think the most important question to be answered in astrophysics is "What is spacetime made of?". Since spacetime can be warped by matter, it must be made of something. Figuring out what spacetime is made of could then answer questions such as what is dark matter, what is dark energy, and why do particles behave as waves. Until we understand which thread is used to make the fabric of spacetime, I think the other answers will remain elusive.

    I've never understood why curved space will make things move and attract. They say curved space like it is the same thing as uncurved space, but uncurved space does not make things move or attract. Why would curved space do that? Why do not objects just sit still in curved space?

    i have never understood the singularity, if all the matter in the universe was in one single item, it would have no size as there would be no space( extrinsic space would not count as space is the distance between objects) and there would be no time, it would have mass but no size. did it exist?

    Comment for Alex in Perth who asked the first question - how can light be both wave and particle? The answer is nobody truly knows however think about this for a moment. Law of Conservation of Energy states energy cannot be created nor destroyed, it can only change from one form to another. Therefore, a transmutation process must exist (I call it particalisation) in order for light wave energy to transform into photon light particle. It may well be the interaction of the light wave energy with other particles initiates this process of 'particalisation'.
    This to me, is how light can be both particle and wave.

    • @speider
      @speider 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The actual answer is that it is a wave, up to the point where it interacts with another particle.

    • @PeterPete
      @PeterPete 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Speider
      You're just describing what might happen. Alex asked specifically HOW can light be both wave and particle? Answer that question now.

    • @speider
      @speider 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Peter Peterson The question is: how can light be both a particle and a wave? Technically, itæs only a wave. I'd like to refer you to Quantum Field Theory, please look up a lecture by Sean Carroll, who'se been involved with the large hadron collider :)

    • @PeterPete
      @PeterPete 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Speider
      Alex asked quite simply, HOW can light be both wave and particle?
      Brian only describes, YOU have only described. Now YOU want ME to look up some guy's theory, some guys idea/description?
      Just answer the question, HOW can light be both wave and particle? It cannot be that difficult as it was asked to Professor Brian Cox by a young person.
      If you don't know just say you don't know rather than pretend you do know, because it's pretty obvious Brian doesn't know.
      But coming up with a theory of how light can be both wave and particle is the easy part. You've then got to prove it to the masses.
      At the end of the day nobody will ever truly know because it is beyond our comprehension - one cannot imagine the unimaginable.

    • @speider
      @speider 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you being dim on purpose?
      "Now YOU want ME to look up some guy's theory, some guys idea/description?"
      No. I don't want you to look up some guy's theory.
      Quantum Field Theory is THE most accurate and highly tested description of physics. It is what you learn if you become a university physicist. It is what gave us the answers to the microwave background radiation, and it is the foundation for everything being done at CERN. "Alex asked quite simply HOW can light be both wave and particle", but the question doesn't make sense.
      In school, you were probably asked the question if light was particles or waves, but the problem is that nobody tells you the answer unless you go into physics/theoretical physics. Light is a wave, but we see it as a particle if we try to break it down into measurable units. It isn't both. It's just a wave. We have a type of measurment that allows us to call it a particle, when it really isn't one. But explaining this "easily" would take an hour, or a book.
      "But coming up with a theory of how light can be both wave and particle is the easy part. You've then got to prove it to the masses." Quantum Field Theory has more evidence behind it that Gravitational Theory and Evolusionary Theory. The "masses" are never the people who scrutinize hypothesis and theories with any degree of authority. It would be awesome if people were interested in science, but the "masses" are not. Their ignorance, however, is not a sign that any theory or hypothesis is inaccurate.
      "At the end of the day nobody will ever truly know because it is beyond our comprehension - one cannot imagine the unimaginable."
      Deciding that something will never be known and claiming it to be unimaginable when shcience has a very good grasp of it, is not only ignorant but a way of limiting everyone else to not being able to know more than you, which is folly.
      People imagine universes that are literally impossible all the time.
