I hope he just figured out he gets alot of treatos, from rhe vet and a limp does the trick. Brings back some not so good memories of when one of my puppers started limping without an obvious wound, several visits later an x-ray revealed bone cancer.
Oh, Colly! The kick off (so to speak!) to 2024 with a bandaged paw? Nothing that a few extra treatos can't fix along with the bandage and the medicine the vet gave you. You are already on the mend! ❤❤❣❣❤❤

Oh man, I freak out any time my Golden grandpuppy seems sick or injured. He got really sick when he was about 5 months old, and I believe if I hadn't insisted on taking him to the vet on about the 4th day, he would have died. I knew I loved the the little brat, but when I thought he might possibly die, I realized I already loved that dog more than any pet I've ever known. What worries me is he's oddly tenacious for a Golden, and far more reckless than I remembered Goldens being. He's still super friendly, like a proper Golden, but when he chases a ball or whatever, he sprints full speed, with no concern for what lies beyond the target object. He manages to brake in time like 99% of the time due to his quick reflexes, but every once in a while, he plows into a wall or pillar, or a bird bath. He had hurt his back right leg at about a year old, and I made the mistake of googling his symptoms, which it turns out is every bit as ill-advised as it is to do for people's symptoms. I was pretty sure it was hip dysplasia, and that we might have to have him put down. Turns out he was fine, just a minor injury, and he was back to normal after a couple weeks.

My golden had this--paw licking/biting which led to ulcerated spots which led to limping. Vet diagnosed it as atopy and gave her a shot of Cytopoint. Took several weeks to kick-in, but the problem has completely resolved. Atopy is often a seasonal issue, so come spring and summer, Lucy will probably need another shot. (BTW, my vet cautioned against wrapping because that traps moisture in and delays healing.)
