Or, as in this case, they would have to get a judge to rule that the elected official cannot carry out their duties. But the County can't fire the Treasurer, the Assessor, the Public Administrator, or any other elected official solely on their own

And that pandering lawyer doesn't even know the law. There are legal means to remove an elected official, such as a recall election. In essence, it would take an election by the voters to negate the results of a previous vote. But for the County itself, they would have to go through the court system, and request a judgement according to a highly restrictive set of conditions that would, in essence, allow them to negate the results of that prior election.
