      Same here Asian lion looks more beautiful because of their face structure. It seems lions in Gir sanctuary has no mane but the lions that lived all over India once has huge manes and looked majestic...may be if they re introduce them to other areas of India which were once their habitat then may be we could see the Lions with huge manes that once roamed in India. As we see slightest difference among African lion in African continent so its possible that lions within India from different region might develope some feature that we find in some written documentation.

      Thanks for watching The Lion King video. All the Lions & Lioness in Gir are very healthy. It is just that they are very lazy & like to relax near a water source for most part of the day.

      We had to google translate your comment since we don't understand Spanish. First of all thanks for watching the video & for your comments. Asiatic Lions do hunt very often but are very rarely captured doing the same on camera since there are very few open grasslands in Gir. They also fight with other Lions on regular basis for territory. We have very often since injury marks on Lions occurred due to territorial fights. We have also seen Two Sub Adult Lions enjoying meal of freshly killed Spotted Deer. Video of the same coming up later this year.

      African Lion's mane is bigger as compared to Asiatic lion & body only slightly bigger.

    Even though asiatic lions are India's second biggest cat asiatic lions are exactly the same size as african lions since the common misconception is that they are a bit smaller but they are the same size as the african lion so since this is a male in his prime he must be 350-420lbs

    • @DiscoverWildIndia

    • @rickstar6276
      @rickstar6276 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@educationforblind6362 no it only affects pride size lions don't need a lot of food to begin with only 15lbs of meat a day to survive but even than they don't eat every day large mammals in the dry areas of india may not be as abundant like in africa but that's why they live in smaller groups and male asiatic lions are usually solitary so they get all the food they hunt to themselves so they get enough food to stay the same size as the African lion even a spotted deer could last a few days for a single big male lion and sambar deer average 390lbs so for a pride it would last a while so like I said before the dry areas of india may not have as much large animals like in africa but food is still abundant to keep the asiatic lion the size of the African lion

      Sorry, don't remember the route as this Lion was filmed way back in 2014. We took total of 11 safaris across all routes. Lions are not commonly named as in the case of Tigers. Though i have heard that the guides in Gir have started naming them. One of them is called Gabbar Singh but no idea about name of the one featured in the video. Thanks for watching.
