Weight reduction
Its drum brakes. It 90's jetta. They never had calipers.

+Stuart Harper They're flat masks to give a (poor) race car effect. They were fitted on the front and back so the Jetta looks like it doesn't have calipers but rather vented rotors front and back. They're just dumb stick-ons, right next to fake chrome vents. Still on the market but thankfully it never became a thing with the fanboys. They're stuck on the inside of your rims, lines up and bolted on.

Let's not forget the 5 speed eclipse shifts 7 times before spinning out and putting the car in to reverse.
And it's not an eclipse
It was indeed an eclipse. It was a Gs-t. I own an eagle talon which is basically the same car, they're commonly called dsm's. One mistake that was overlooked, when bryan is first shown driving the eclipse, that's the Gs-t version, which is a turbod 4g63 engine...but at the car meet when they look under the hood it simply has a cold air intake in the opposite side, suggesting that particular car was a 420a

you may think that speed changed quickly but wheel spin will do that if you have enough of power.
The speed jumps quickly like that due to wheelspin. Reverse light was on because he was reversing. Apart from that, great video man! Most of the stuff, I hadn't seen before.

It's pretty much the first movie that changed allot of people's lives and dispite having so many mistakes, the movie was a success! This movie is what created even more street racers! It even made me develop the love for 💪 🚗. RIP Paul.
in the 2nd clip where the speed jumps and the reverse lights are on if you listen and count that eclipse changes gears 6 times making it a 7 speed
Not trying to say shit but I do hope you watched the making of this movie because Brian's Green Eclipse wasn't even really spinning out, they had Paul Walker in the car and the car was on a flat truck the used CGI to make the car look like it was spinning.
Just like in some of the other fast and furious movies. Done with green screen in the background.

1. The speed jumps up quickly because he's in the power band of that car, add that and the turbo for the 4g63 and it will jump quickly! 2. The reverse lights are on for a purpose! When you do a 360, first you're going to rip the e-brake, throw into the corner, put it in reverse and give it gas, counter steer and and then put it back in gear, so that wasn't a mistake! Do some research
As much as I love the movie and the entire franchise, I didn't realize there were so many mistakes.

Good catches I like seeing all these things and yeah I know they're all stunts and cameras and the movie is good but the movie makers are trying to make sure you can't spot them and that's why it's fun to spot them. Also those ramps on the hill are always there I live in the house next to those ramps. They still haven't removed them.
the reason ( most probable to me ) they had one set of tires on the trailer is so the stunt driver is safe while driving under the trailer. he\she has more room under the trailer so the trailer doesn't smack the bumper and cause a really bad accident

In the scene w/ walkers lights, he thre.w it in reverse when he spins out to stop faster, and since it is turbo, when he double clothes that is how he jumps speeds

I'm sorry but this comment doesn't make any sense.
He wiped out. To keep going he threw it in reverse to then go back into a forward gear, not to stop.
Being turbo doesn't have to do anything with stopping, in fact he would either stall, fuck up his trans or spin in reverse if he in fact dumped the clutch at high rpm.

If you tried to say double clutches he didn't double clutch in that movie cause when he races toretto Toretto even says he was shifting like a granny and not double clutching.
A movie that will never die
For the valves scenes, there are 2 valves to open, not just one. When he opens the valve on the right, the valve on the left is in the shadow, then they give it better lighting when he opens the valve on the left but is too zoomed in so the right valve isnt included in the close up shot of the left valve.
Still was a great movie
The eclipse also has a 7 speed gearbox in its' first scene. If you count, you see Brian shift 6 times. Then in the panning shot, you hear the blow off valve go off and the revs drop again, indicating another gear change. This is still my favorite movie in the franchise though!
You forgot in the last race, the supra changes to have a roll bar in it when the charger is on the air and it also has a roll bar when it spins 180 degrees, but changes to have no roll bar when Brian gets out of the car

In the beginning, when Vince (?) jumps on the truck, you can see the truck driver keeping a straight face and driving casually as if nothing's happening.
It could be too much, but I feel like this movie has some transcendence to it. What they did and when they did it was just unlike anything we had seen up to that point.

When dom parks his rx7 in the parking garage after the cops break up the first race, the cop that passes him is a crown Vic and when it pulls a 180 to come back to catch him it's a caprice
The nos system in the Rx7 was set up so that it was fully functional, so you may think it looks wrong but it worked.

Jesse doesn't only change the steering wheel during the race in the desert. in some interior shots he is in a whole different car. Just at the shape of the rear Window, that's not a Jetta, but some Coupe ;)
To be fair with the roll cage one, any movie will do that. If they build a hero car (that was intended to look a certain way and not include a roll cage), the stunt cars will ALWAYS have added safety gear, usually including a roll cage, to keep the stunt performers as safe as possible. With the reverse lights one in the beginning, it's very possible the stunt driver knocked the shifter to reverse while spinning the car around a few times. And with the end and the stunt drivers helmet, the most realistic way to get that crash, is by having someone drive the car and flip it, instead of it being pulled on wires; maybe they could have chosen a better angle, but like, enjoy the movie instead of picking it apart

on number 2 the jumping of the speed is quite common when you tune the boost on the car and the reverse is needed to do those type of turns! Just letting you know!

The car has a lot of power that's why the speed in the eclipse changes so fast
The very first one with the 2 wheels to 1 back to 2 is because they had to have a modded trailer basically fpr the cars to fit

If you look at the shipping can trailer the reason why it has tandem axles as its leaving the port is because it's a regular can trailer. If you are watching later on when the front axle is removed you will notice that they have removed all air bag suspension from the remaining axle and have replaced it with triangular metal plates on either side to raise the actual height of the trailer which is also noticeable when the camera view goes up towards the fifth wheel hook up on the back of the tractor and you can actually see that there is a riser where the fifth wheel is supposed to be sitting on the frame but instead the horse cock of the trailer slides into that riser giving enough room for the Civics to pass underneath the trailer. I also know this because I used to work for a moving company and my crew had the same basic Freightliner cabover twin-screw tractor, which I know has a lot of people saying whoopty Doo but it does matter because every time we would unhook a trailer from our tractor due to the low height of the fifth wheel every other tractor who would try to pull up under a trailer we used would have to get out and raise the trailer up so the horse cock would not be too low to hook up to the trailer.

1 mistake they forgot was when they are looking under the hood of the eclipse. Naming off all the parts. It's not the 4g63 turbo engine. It's the NA eclipse motor and you can clearly see the header not a turbo manifold.
Jesse's car changes completely. It is not a Jetta anymore. You can tell by the pillars going from white to black.
there's also one more as Brian beats the train at the end. He some how gets a roll cage
