Mr. Banana is my favorite side character. He dresses as a banana, his catchphrase is “stay peachy,” and his childhood dream was to be a cucumber. Pure chaos I tell you.
It quite literally hurts that a FRENCH-ANIMATION set in FRANCE seemingly has no idea how the French government operates. Now to mourn the brain cells lost watching this episode.

@@vladimir3905 My comment is more aimed at the show as a whole. The mayor constantly oversteps the bounds of his station and they even had the police chief call in the French military on at least one occasion.
Funniest thing to me is that the show pretends that Paris is the entire country. There's no army, there's no president, no Government, no parliament, no senate no nothing. The mayor of a town just has supreme authority over everything. It's so ridiculous. Not even the kings had that much power for they still had the nobles to argue with.
I thought about it just as well. For god sake, the robit police thing this episode? Even if Audrey agreed to it, he'd have to tell about it the GOVERNMENT! the president as well! Literally walk to the government building and propose the idea. And come on, no government would acceot this at this day and age...
I'm surprised Astruc didn't just make Chloe an actual dictator instead of implying, with no tact, that democracy doesn’t sit well with her so she struggles to pronounce it.
It's painful because all the pieces are there and plenty of moments showed there was more to Chloe than being a bully, thus the steps he takes to make her as unlikeable as possible make the show unwatchable as it genuinely feels like he's doing it purely out of spite.
Yeah. Thomas Astruc RUINED Chloe and gives Chloe stans/fans (who hoped Chloe would genuinely change for the better) the bird... Chloe deserves character development and become more lovable instead of staying a (irredeemable) bully/spoiled brat. Her fans deserve better... I miss Queen Bee. Chloe/QB had so much potential to be an asset to the other Miraculous Heroes. Shame that virtually all her classmates turn their backs on her when in reality, Chloe's crying out for help and is hurting internally. Chloe being a pawn to Gabriel/HawkMoth/Lila/etc. didn't help her cause either. I sincerely hope that Zoe (& even Marinette & Adrien & others) can see Chloe's pain and somehow, someway help her see the light and show her the error of her current ways. If only another writer other than Thomas can make Chloe a better person...
So true I quit watching this show because of Ass-truc’s childish hatred for Chloe and his awful writing decisions. Like just why destroy Chloe a 14 year old that had her whole life ahead of her and will more than likely change and look back at her past self and not be proud of it. Astruc is wrong in thinking Chloe is irredeemable because she’s “bad and mean.” Oh please there have been people far worse than Chloe that redeemed themselves like Darth Vader, Vegeta, Sasuke, Golbez, Kuja and Lusimine. Compared to all of those people Chloe is an angel yet they’ve ended up redeeming themselves.
This is what you get when you get a guy who is a storyboard dude and not a director or writer free range his idea was great, but his follow through sucks should have brought real writers and directors in and him being a consultant for the image he wants
I have no idea why they are giving Andre a redemption arc, especially this late. They have shown time and time again that even without the influence of Chloe and Audrey, he is still corrupt. And theyve also shown that Chloe picks up this corrupt behaviour from him, for example: In season one during the class president election, Chloe wants to dig dirt on Marinette , which she says her father does during elections. Honestly, this redemption was only made to make Chloe look worse and that this was all on her and not the negative influence of her parents, when its plainly obvious it is, the writers show us this.
It's WAYYYYY too late for that! Andre should've stopped being a simp for Audrey and grew a spine years ago. And that bit about him saying Chloe had a heartless evil heart? Hmmm...wonder where she picked it up from?
They're basically adding or changing a lot of stuff they clearly didn't think back then and want us to pretend it was always the case. That's called retconning. You could say that outside meeting Master Fu, and giving out the extra miraculous, seasons 1 to 3 are no longer canon.
Because your reasons don’t justify your behaviour, except if you’re Felix, Marinette, Andre, Sabrina, and it gets even worse in the finale. This logic only applies to Chloe.
they said here that the only reason He bothered with the politics in the first place was to impress audrey, then he kinda got stuck in a rut. He ended up hating his wife who doesn't respect him, cheated on him and abuses him. His daughter is just as bad, and he sold his morals and happiness. So he's miserable and has nothing in his life that gives him joy. But it's really hard to just stop being a mayor and running a hotel chain. I imagine he convinced himself that he had to do it for his wife and chloe and that things would get better. His step daughter Zoe is the only good thing in his life and he goes out of his way to try and shield her from her mother and Chloe. They barely know each other at that. which kinda gives you an insight into just how depressing his life must be. So yea, no, i don't blame him for finally snapping and ditching the two people in his life who should be there for him more then anything. Even when it comes to children there are limits to how much abuse you can take before you have to make the hard choices. Chloe isn't some little girl, or helpless child. we've seen what she's capable of and the writing insisted on making her irredeemable. The only positive spot to Audrey's situation, is that his wife makes tons of cash, so he'll likely be able to avoid having to give her half his stuff or perhaps He just doesn't care any more and will give her everything just to be done with her. After which he can start fresh and try to do better for himself.
This episode really set in stone what an absolute man-child Astruc is. If the previous ones already did that, this was the nail in the coffin. The guy can't handle the fact that a character he apparently always wanted to be a one-note bully got a dedicated following. And instead of leaning into that like Zag or even just ignoring it, he throws a huge tantrum and makes her a literal dictator just to stick it to the fans. What a clown.
THANK YOU! I'm so glad this jackass is leaving after this season from what I hear. I don't like Chloe but this?? What he's doing to her character is abysmal and they need to fucking stop. Just write her out the show for all our sakes.

Well that's odd if he wanted chole to look worse than hetler then the episodes were chole almost redeems herself should have been written by him does he have a learning disability or something?
It's like they said, "Who cares about logic? We need to make Chloe a dictator." So she can suddenly do literally anything. Like, if she could have gotten Marinette expelled that easily, why hadn't she done it earlier? Sometimes I get so frustrated with this show.
Is no one actually talking about that the former mayor should be in prison already, not only did he use public funds and infrastructure for personal gain (Chloe) but directly used his power to excuse criminal offenses for his daughter. Which both are illegal
We can start with the whole 'hotel owner' plot. Most countries consider that a conflict of interest, because it leads to things like having international guests staying at his hotel. Add in the stuff with the ice rink, the wax museum, etc.
it's a kid's show and frankly if we break down everything into how bad it actually is this show would be super depressing. Which might have worked if they'd remained on the path for the older audiences, but they retooled it for a kids show and we'll have to accept some .... conveniences. Besides, I've seen the leaked final episode. heh if you think him getting off without jail time is annoying... well. you'll see.
With Chloe successfully staging a coup, I have to disagree. Chloe is nothing more than a puppet here. Gabriel and Tamoe set this all up. It's all part of their big grand plan which gets revealed in coming episodes.
I take it all back. Initially, I was one of those who criticized Astruc for scuppering Chloe's redemption arc. But now? I'm fully on board for anything ol' Tommy wants to do. This is going to go down as the moment Miraculous jumped the shark/nuked the fridge/mayor'd the Chloe, whatever. Astruc is so hateful toward Chloe that he is willing to come up with something so ridiculous as a teenager becoming mayor, something that makes no logical sense even within the confines of a children's cartoon, just to make her more evil and more irredeemable...solely to suit his own narrative. Ironwood from RWBY going from reasonable authority figure to full-on councilman-murder-y nuke-a-city dictator had more subtlety than this. Astruc, at this stage, is just burning down his own franchise out of pure spite at this point, and I'm all here for it. Mayor Chloe is the point where Miraculous since season 3 went from disappointing to becoming so bad that it's entertaining to see how it all implodes.
Might be a crazy theory, but what if he had a "Chloe" bully him and his treatment of this character is his revenge? Bad writing and poor planning is one thing, but it's like making Chloe evil is his number one goal.
I feel like, unlike last season, I can't tell you what's happened in the last episodes, I'm afraid I only remember the major things from them, but not the actual plot
Wow, that Andre redemption arc came out of nowhere. Until the middle of Season 5, Andre was the perfect parody of a corrupt politician. He was also good comic relief. I don't know why they suddenly gave him a full-fledged redemption arc and changed his character so late in the show - there was hardly any buildup in the past 100 episodes!
Just want to point out that the literally emotionally abusive, manipulative, coldhearted, arguably genocidal *main antagonist of the show* is portrayed in a more sympathetic light than "just" a spoiled rich teenager girl. That's how much Astruc hates her.
I really don't care about Chloe but...when she became mayor, I just laughed by ass off. Like WTF is this?! After this season, I BEG of them to please write Chloe off the show. It is scientifically proven they have no idea what to do with her!

Despite that craziness of the ending, I really like the idea that the heros are now seen as outlaws. I think that plot point could bring something interesting (if done well) however, I doubt its a plot point that will last long.
They're not really outlaws, like, I doubt any civilians will oppose their activities, and I feel the robots are there so the actual human police doesn't have to go after them either.
It's absolutely laughable how much Astruc hates Chloe; enough so to the point where he makes her go from 0 to 100 like this. This show hasn't been worthwhile since Season 2 ended and I will stand by that statement.
This episode was so annoying honestly. Like, so suddenly, Chloe Bourgeois, a random 14-year-old girl that many people call really bratty, just becomes a mayor out of nowhere. And everyone decides to go with it. And Hawkmoth being Hawk Moth or whatever you call him. And I have supported Adrinette (except the stalking, so I'm not fully supporting the canon ship) but why were they acting so... blegh. Suddenly hawkmoth is getting so much luck that it's about to become Lila level. At least, Andre finally stands u for himself and quits caring for Chloe. I'm just disappointed how wasted the ending is.
I agree with all points except the stalking. Marinette was obsessed sure but not a stalker. That line of thinking really needs to go somewhere and die. I can explain how she wasn't if you care to know.
I can tell you what i think it's bullshit and pathetic.Thomas Astruc sacrificed decent writing just to make Chloe even more unlikable. The moment she announced herself as mayor the whole street would have been filled with riots and her father would have been murdered on the spot.
Ok season 5 has sounded pretty batshit crazy already, but this episode really seems like it jumped headfirst off a cliff into the craziest plot you could possibly imagine
Only miraculous can have 15 episode with no plot only to shove so much in a single episode and just randomly decide what is important and what isn't. Felix comited genocide 3 episodes ago. Remember?
This show is one big tease. They tease ships, they tease a possibly good story, and then squanders it. But ships, and superheroes, and a predictable plot, you can get a hit show with eight seasons and a movie!
@@FlawPink Chloe's betrayal is random twists just for shock value, we saw gabe's redemption coming and he has turned back from a redemption to being an assfuck
What I found ironic about the episode is how "Lila" and Gabriel, in the next episode, are using Chloe as their puppet, seeing as Chloe and Audrey do the same thing towards Andre with his power as mayor. As Chloe is an easy scapegoat for both of them, everyone hates Chloe to the point that now everyone has given up on her. Chloe doesn't care anymore as she believes she has nothing to lose, and seeing that "Lila" plans can work better and get what she wants, only for it to explode in her face. It's funny seeing "Lila" and Gabriel playing with each other to get what they want from Gabriel, thinking he'll be able to get the Ladybug and Chat Noir miraculous and "Lila" more info about Gabe to get the butterfly miraculous, so next episode should be interesting.
Chloe is constantly being manipulated in this show. She only exists for people to enrage, and then redirect so they destroy whatever THEY want. Thus they suffer no consequences and chloe remains hated which is seen as socially acceptable.
@@myrla9745 She literally is. She's constantly manipulated by Monarch, and Lila. They use her as a scapegoat to their schemes because they know it would be more damaging if they're the ones caught. And It is socially acceptable at this point to hate Chloe, so I don't really blame her for being this much of a b**** at this point.
I kinda just feel bad for Chloe, this entire time her character could have evolved into something more complex than a mean psycho girl but Astruc is just to afriad (or incompetent) to write her as anything more. Unlike Zag who wrote around her flaws and made her a more complex and compelling character, Astruc just falls back to what he knows and not bulid on it. This arc could be interesting if we got to see more Chloe's feelings of always being a type of pawn. Weather it be Gabe, Lyla, Marionette, or her mother using her to thier end and not caring about her feelings. But Astruc would never do it. He is too afraid to EVOLVE his characters out of their troupes into anything meaningful. Instead just making everyone reset in maturity until the season finale where they need to rush a fuck ton of character development. It's just very poor writing on the Miraculous teams part.
That's what pisses me the most about it. It's not that Chloe didn't get a redemption, it's the disruptive, blatantly malicious, petty "in your face" way they (re)wrote her character. A 'failed redemption arc' where she spirals down into becoming a legit villain COULD'VE WORKED if they actually tried, but instead seems Astruc had a mental breakdown knowing people felt sorry for Chloe and saw her as a person and not an unforgivable sociopath in the first place.
I think a lot of this comes from including a character in your story that apparently is based on a real person and someone that Astruc absolutely despised to his core. And apparently never got over his hatred of that person. Hopefully it’s a lesson people watching the show learn from. That you should never include a character that you would literally have a complete meltdown over if people either don’t like or do like them. (And yes this includes insisting that people MUST like a character too-which honestly Astruc is guilty of too with Marinette). Make sure you detach yourself at least enough that you can acknowledge that other people might see things differently or relate to something about any character you create. And I mean that literally. Because no matter what character you create there WILL be someone out there somewhere that relates to that character even if just a little. I think personally that authors should see ALL of their characters as human beings-including villains. That’s not to say that you approve of everything they do-but you never indicate that the character isn’t human and was always inevitably doomed to be a monster. Or the reverse, that the character was and will always be flawless. Instead you should say that it’s the character’s choices that led to their outcome and that they COULD choose to change, but they may not.
The Adrienette scene outside at school shouldn’t really be in the episode so they would of had time to put the scene where Andre divorces Audrey & takes custody of Zoe
Honestly I can’t understand the hatred for Chloe’s arc moving so slowly. There’s still a chance we get a last minute change to where she is redeemable. Chloe goes unhinged because life takes stuff away from her like a spoiled brat. Chloe loses all her friends so she gets easily manipulated because she craves attention. Chloe loses everything and goes further down rabbit hole of evil. My guess if Lilia becomes main villain like everyone speculates-she becomes Lila’s evil henchman. Chloe eventually realizes she’s being used and turns on Lila. Chloe gets redemption. She may not get that and become the chaotic evil that tries usurping Lila. Who knows? But I get tired of people griping about how once they figure out theories and stuff-oh we gotta blast the writing team. This is Power Rangers meets early kid show with basic plots. It’s why I enjoy the show. You, the audience member, knows the arc. The character doesn’t. So you’re watching it unfold in real-time. Sure you’ve gotta suspend a lot of disbelief. But honestly, it could be a lot worse in the grand scheme of things. It’s very basic, popcorn television. You watch as an adult to get out of real life. It’s got a lot of good life lessons for kids. Can’t we just have a basic, silly kids show?
He has also akumatized babies, children & his OWN son (including IN the canonical timeline in Season 5!) Plus look at how he treats the Kwamis! He makes me SICK 🤮
7:41 As a Chloe fan. I want that too. Because I want to see my favorite character in this kind of situation. They do so little thing with Chloe. Especially S4. I finally happy that she is important in late S5. And I'm happy that Ladybug attack her in the end.
At least if Chloé had a decent reputation in-universe, the whole idea of using her as a puppet for a coup on a metropolitan scale would sound less ridiculous. Sure, she'd still be a minor and that'd be silly, but at least it'd be partly justified by her popularity. But she's not popular, the whole city knows her past crimes and how terrible a person she generally is... at the very least, the whole city should rise up in arms and restore order before the army could even get involved.
Audrey finally decides to get active in her daughter's life after this fiasco ends. Hopefully she will be trained into a better villain. Audrey won't pamper her like Andre did, and we have all given up on the idea of a redeemed Chloe, so the best we can hope for is a more effective villainous Chloe. PS she is still after Adrien, she has just quit pretending to be "nice" about it.
@@osky529 Don't be so sure. Astruc could still make Chloe the reason for Lyla's inevitable failure to get the miraculous. A last minute redemption that Marinette failed to pull off.
@@72Worker Chloe would probably cause their plan to fail by accident rather than by any desire to make things "right". At this point they might as well make her work well as a villain rather than trying to salvage her as a hero or even an antihero.
@@AzulNoxa You can never tell. I doubt Astruc will let anyone but Ladybug win either way. But in my mind Chloe will be involved in Ladybug's win somehow. Astruc has invested to much into Chloe's character development for anything else.

as someone who loved chloe's character in the first two seasons I wish the writers had written her out the show after the third season and focused on other characters instead
this has been a thought in my head for long - the writers need to give lila some powers , like they need to establish that she has some sort of connection to the miraculous history, in her very first introduction she knows about the fox miraculous and SHE HAS an exact mock up like what ?!?!? and how is she able to able to manipulate everyone maintain different identities and also HER MOTIVATION what is that revenge for not being the face of alliance rings revenge on marinette. SHE ALSO CONNECTS GABRIEL TO MONARCH HOWW?!?!? pls giveher some interesting supernatural backstory
Wait, I thought and assumed Lila went through the miraculous book Adrien had taken from his father and saw the fox miraculous there. And then proceeded to forge the fox necklace in her own spare time off screen.
6:50 That's what I've been saying for the longest time, I've said it about Zoe having a crush on Marinette at this point to feel less like they actually care and more like they just want to feel inclusive. EPICALLY FOR relationships like julerose why does mylene x Ivan, Alta x Nino and the relationship get canon confirmed and not just heavily hinted at. For instance, Rose is confirmed to be bi while juleka is lesbain. So they're obviously dating but it is never actually confirmed, and their sexuality isn't stated in the show, Nathaniel x Marc is one were only Marc ( I think) is confirmed to be gay, and Alex is aro/ace but we are never told this in the show. Note this confirming every sexuality on screen doesn't always have to be the case take toh, for instance, a few characters are of handily confirmed after the show ended hunter and Willow but I personally don't mind because it is obvious they care very much for representation and it case it feel far more like a headcanon they loved and adored than an off handed here take ur shit happy now. Meanwhile miraculous ladybug feels more like it like the idea but never truly care about it character to the point of actually confirming it, and the few characters that r confirmed r background character or b r Zoe who is horribly written,I like LGBTQ representation as a bisexual myself but I find it highly annoying when they do shit like this.
It's not just regarding lgbt+ either. The show seems to have that habit of portraying representation and diversity but only at face value. Even if their intentions are good, it comes off as having an "inclusivity bingo chart" in the writing room.
Yeah it’s shallow, it’s a single episode, it’s a background character, easy to censor or get rid of. He likes to say Julerose are canon on Twitter, and that he based Marc on an LGBT friend he has, but that’s on Twitter, you won’t see anything explicit on the show. It’s a shame.
@@assiaelkhayate-sl8hu I would like to point out that it doesn't discourage the relationship since Ace and aro can still fall in love, they are just less likely. But I also got the sexuality wrong, Thomas says Alix gives off Ace and Max gives off Aro. I wouldn't be surprised if Thomas just forgot since he is known for his inconsistency .
I saw, I looked for the logic, I have a headache... 🤯 At this level I wonder why Astruc didn't just enter the show, take a gun and shoot Chloe point-blank, it would have had the merit of being faster! 😤
@@FlawPink It was sarcasm on my part to put an end to Chloe's flouting but indeed, I think he prefers to degrade her a little more (if possible at this level)
Honestly, at this point I think it's just a plain fact that Chloe is genuinely mentally ill and probably needs to be in a hospital or have a dedicated therapist (preferably with a taser in case Chloe gets violent). I love Chloe, but at this point in the show, she is a raging, psychotic, MESS.
So everyone: Andre, Sabrina, Ms Bustier, they're all sweet little angels corrupted by Chloe who turns out is just plain evil, doesn't have any ambitions down to the point of iliteracy *and* takes over the parisian government with an army of robots simultanously.
I don't want to repeat my arguments about concept vs execution from the last review, so I'll just summarise my opinion of the episode in the following 3 words that are very appropriate imo: Ridiculous, utterly ridiculous
I couldn’t care less about Miss Bustier’s relationship. Rosé and Juleka would make so much more sense! OK, Zoe has a crush on Marinette, but that doesn’t change a thing cause let’s be honest, they’ll probably leave it at that and forget about it in the future. Like do it correctly or don’t bother pretending to care about the representation at all.
Also a bit suspicious that we haven't seen a single male x male couple, isn't it? Why does it seem like explicitly gay characters in kid's shows can only be fem x fem? Like maybe there will be two gay dads for one of the side characters but no main gay male couples? The Owl House, The new Monster High (female x femme nonbinary), literally the 5 confirmed and 2 implied gay characters in Miraculous..
@@FlawPink yes of course, everyone can and everybody is allowed to do and experience it in their own way. What I meant is that the creators constantly bait the viewers and want to show they “care” about representation but they don’t care enough to make one of the main couples LGBT. Chloe: I'm mayor now. The entire of Paris: It doesn't work that way... Chloe: Did I fucking stutter? I've been in denial about the vindictive writing regarding Chloe, maybe I'm weird but it's kinda depressing acknowledging the fact that the creator of my favourite animated show is a middle aged man with a grudge against a fictional teenage girl, BUT SEASON 5 HAS FINALLY MADE THIS IMPOSSIBLE 😭 Chloe in this episode was unhinged even for her and not in an interesting or logical way😑
The sad thing is: With the first two or three episodes, the new season begun promising. Gabriel/Monarch getting hit with the Cataclysm without giving LB the chance to undo the damage. Felix, who crashes Gabes party for Paris' Superelite and letting Ladybug and with that Marinette as well disappear and realising, what a giant mistake he just made. But now? Chloe and with her the entire Series was thrown into the garbage can. Thank you, ASStruc 😡
I agree with you for the most part but I'm going to bring up something that might help with the whole "this episode was unhinged even for her" thing. Lila is in her ear the whole time, manipulating her into submission, making her her puppet to gain control over Paris. It sucks that Chloe is falling for it but it does make for and interesting plot direction. Just think about it, what if when Chloe realizes she's being manipulated by Lila she focuses on revenge for her ego but maybe fails and is now a lonely child with a mother who doesn't even know her name. Idk man, could end up being some kind of wake up call for our dear Chloe...or maybe not at all. It could all be wishful thinking on my part.
@@FlawPink an amazing villain...are you sure we're watching the same show? Chloe is definitely a villain, I'll give you that, but she is on the opposite side of the plot device scale from Felix, the complexity of the story REGRESSES whenever she is on screen😭
i think this episode shows the...well the show is pretty much going in an absurd direction and. I'm someone who has seen chloe since season 1, she may bemean, but she was never this sociopathic. and, a lot of this episode rubs me the wrong way, like there is nothing "realistic"about this situation also: chloe doesn't need tobe disowned, she needs help!
But it does follow real life. Sociopaths have to admit they’re wrong and hit rock bottom to receive help. Chloe hasn’t hit rock bottom to receive such help.
Chloé is a sadist (she just chose to be that way). "Lila" on the other hand appears to be a true psychopath ("Lila" shows symptoms of Antisocial Personality Disorder, & the narcissistic variant). But, I still wonder what on Earth is "Lila" up to?
Thomas is literally ruining his own show by pettiness the forced actions he is making Chloe doing that doesn’t even make sense to her character is insane and the forced writing to other characters is stupid like forcing Luka out of the story. This show needs a reboot/remake I think like 90% of miraculous fans can agree with that. I hope the movie fixes this issue because it’s not directed by Thomas and I hope HOPE Chloe is done justice cause she was my favorite character when I was still watching this show and still is my favorite character Thomas won’t ruin that. Especially that we know that people in this show using social media very often- they are posting about adrien non stop and it takes few seconds for parisans to react, so why no one, even from the class do nothing about Chloe or her dad? But what's even more absurd to me is that the teachers aren't reporting the mayor's abuse of power... like wtf, are there no ministers, no government, no president, no one else in charge besides chloe's dad?
Wishing for the day julerose stops being bait and they just go for it. As much as I love Gisele, I am not giving them brownie points for this bit, it's only slightly better than Zoe being into Marinette bc EVERYONE is into Marinette and it's so tiring. I must say, and will be honest. I know it's kid show, but i think even my little pony: friendship is magic not take viewer as idiot as this show present, especially with those "twists". Damn, for plot develop propably Gummi Bears or Smurfs have more sense. Its like team was on some LSD trip and think "yea, throw this at viewer". What a mess after great third season... My god it looked like "Pitch meeting" or "how it should end"...
Honestly, at this point I might start rooting for Lilla, she's the only one aware of what's happening and she's actually doing some sort of play to try to outsmart people, unlike Ladybug who's busy with her romance.
4:58 - I honestly don't get why they don't do just that: every time Chloé uses her dad to boss the principal around, they should simply out them on social media. We have a couple of chara ters who are literal journalists and reporters, in other episodes mediatic backlash was totally a thing in this universe, and it did force André to backpedal despite his power. Also, shame on uou Mendeleiev: you were there, applauding Mr. Damocles on his way out for standing up to injustice, now you're even more of a doormat than he was.
I never really catch on to this but how much time does it take Gabriel in deciding the villain costume and name for his akumatised victims ? like imagine a scene where he akumatised a villain but forgot to think of a name so he just kept talking to borrow time and think of a name and then the villain wud transform
@@lavaninja1042 i'd like to start a movement within the fandom #appreatiateTheAkuma it has some great fashion sense. Marinette dont bye bye it keep it!!!
in simpliman they have a brief discussion about what the name of the villain should be and when they decide he transforms, so I think the fantasy and powers are given when gabriel wants
If they're not going to redeem Chloe- which they probably aren't at this point- they could at least make her a better villain. She's literally just a puppet for the better villains. Sure, Lila is underused to the point she looks stupid, but she's a better villain than Chloe.
This show has absolutely lost the plot. I can't bring myself to suffer through the actual show anymore, I just rely on your recaps out of a morbid sense of curiosity. It's sad because this show COULD have been great if there was any writing talent behind it. Instead, this show will be remembered more for its AMV's and Animatics than the actual "story".
@@michaelsarmiento3057 There are very few shows that I genuinely feel that I could write better. This is the second show to make the "I can write better than this s***" list.
i fucking HATE the just fucking character assassination of chloe to be the worst fucking character imaginable. like what was the point of her character arch? you ACTUALLY had something going on with her character and threw it in the fucking trash and now she's the emptiest shell of an archetype. literally chloes character has to be Astruc's revenge story on a girl who picked on him or something because WHY would you have a character be just so downright dislikable to the point of no redemption in your show? i thought most of the episode was like half decent, but every scene chloe is in does my head in. she was actually likeable in the first season, i actually liked her character in the first season. istg.
Why wouldn’t that exist in their world? Besides from the obvious reasons of why two people with a vagina can’t conceive a child from having sex together. In real life, sometimes just one of the partners aren’t able to conceive for whatever reason. Only other option is adoption, having sex with someone else, or artificial insemination. Otherwise some people just do it deliberately anyways for whatever reason having artificial insemination. It’s not like a forbidden or taboo concept, or something that’s foreign. You don’t even need a partner, can just go yourself and just pick the sperm doner. If you got the money and whatever specifics when you go in. It’s the same like when we see any parents and one’s that have children. We obviously assume either sex is involved, artificial insemination, or adoption was responsible for the child’s existence. But the show would probably never go into outright stating anything besides that someone got adopted outloud given it’s demographic. Another example would be Zoe’s existence. The show will never outright say it. But it seems more than likely that the mayor is not her biological father. We can pretty much connect the dots there. And adultery and getting pregnant from another person isn’t exactly a well received concept. So you know. Many different ways to have or get a kid. Adults having sex at some point in their lives, sperm banks, and cheating with someone else, and adoption haven’t ever been something that just didn’t exist in the show.
@@BananaQuagmire-kv4qi Yes but, what if the kid is young. I learned about biological sex when I was 8, and about how WW or MM couples have kids when I was 11. If I was like 9-10 watching the show, I would be super confused as to how two females had a baby together
Smarty Pants: How does a kid become mayor? Me: I've been asking that question ever since 2007. For context, my favorite show is Danny Phantom & at the end of the series, Tucker becomes mayor. He's 14. Suppose my favorite show having a few little writing problems here & there allows me to excuse the insanity of Miraculous Ladybug a bit better but yeah, it does get a little too stupid sometimes. At least there was a small time skip in Phantom Planet so it can be assumed there was an election & Tucker somehow qualified given he is a member of Team Phantom & openly helped with proposing the idea for saving the world. Other than being the previous mayor's daughter, Chloe has nothing to stand on like really, how on earth did she manage this? Guess it has to do with Lila manipulating things.
This is the episode where most people should stop even pretending like this is a coicent story line But seriously Chloe father just disown her, not even gonna try to reason with her or get help ? I am happy he is a decent human being somewhat deep down but like she only 14 you can still save her
@FrancescaAkira89 He pampered her, expecting her to change There are parents in the real world like that, know one myself, The fact he grew a spine said no and ditched her once he knew she was too far gone is something none of the real world parents would do, it honestly makes him better
@@LNRspeaks Expecting for her change? She is 14 years old. From when he was waiting, when she was 5? 10? Never thought to educate her or give her the good example? That's just is him being coherently a weak, irresponsible man who doesn't want to work problems out but go around and give up when it is difficult, like him just giving things to Chloe in opposite to actually be an attentive parent.
@@LNRspeaks That's the point, he tried to put his foot down when she was already too far gone. It was too late for him to try and parent, she's beyond that and needs therapy. But it's easier to paint her as a demon child because plot.
It's okay for a man to be absent in his daughter's education, to let his wife abuse their child, to keep for years an unhealthy marriage that make his daughter suffer, and finally to abandon your 15-years-old-daughter because after all, that's your wife and daughter's fault if your life is a mess.
@@ysarmestr9198 Don't forget! Also the years of abuse of power and crimes he has committed against Paris, we can just forget those! It was all his wife (ignoring the time when Audrey wasn't in Paris, because reasons) and of course daughter, who clearly has just been born wrong, not at all a result of being spoiled by him! He had no choice poor man, with all that stress I'd probably ruin lifes too! Give him a cookie now! I'd probably also try to cut down parks, launch thrash into space, threaten people with getting fired and put their family in danger, if I was in his place! Who wouldn't?
I literally laughed out loud when the part where she auto declares herself mayor of Paris came out. These last two episodes have been the most delusional of the series in my opinion lmao
I have to say...Lila is so fucking interesting. What is her end goal? What is her story? I believe this is extra fuel for how Lila must be older than everyone else (at least 17) because how the hell is she juggling MULTIPLE identities with each of them being legitimate? She actively stalks people (thanks btw for showing us who the REAL stalker of the show is!), is hellbent on murdering Marinette, and is obsessed with Adrien! Notice her board? Nearly ALL the lines point back to Adrien or Marinette. This girl is out for blood!
I wanted to see where lila went back in season 2 or 3, they took too long with her. Am i the only one who notices that they always make her relevant close to the end of the season?? Like wtf
@@DolphyShark I notice that too. I feel like they've wasted her potential long enough but luckily, S6 is gonna focus heavily on her. She's going to be the main villain finally.
Lila feels like a waste of space as a character to me, or at least in how they've used her. The implication was that she'd shake the dynamic from her introduction in season 2, but she's only NOW doing that. She's stagnated so hard up until this point, and we know nothing about her. The next season will expand on this, but it's still frustrating.
Its like they realize how bad their show is and decided to go full on Jesus Takes The Wheel With A Blindfold mode. What's amusing is that there are many people who still find this a good show
I find it hard to understand the logic, it seemed to me that Astruc doesn't like easy redemption stories but in one season we had 3 botched redemptions with Félix, Sabrina and now André Bourgeois! -Felix seemed to be a better antagonist for future seasons but in the end the only thing he wants was his cousin's happiness? Dude, in your first appearance you pretended to be him to his friends to stir up trouble and you went so far as to commit genocide, but that's ok... in fact you're a good guy! 2 episode redemption mini-arc (currently) -Sabrina has always been the damned soul of Chloe, helping her in bad plans and going so far as to lie and steal Marinette's diary, but suddenly she decides that it is not right what they are doing and in 1 episodes she is redeemed? -André Bourgeois is a character quite erased in the first episode until the appearance of this woman, it is the cliché of the dishonest politician in the first season and I thought that the bad personality traits of his daughter was imputed to him. The more season 5 advances towards its denouement (I was spoiler for the end) and the more I have the impression that it is a baroude of honor on the part of Thomas Astruc who goes away by making a 🖕 masterful to continue from the series of the genre "I leave you with the shit I did, manage you with the earth burning in my wake"!
My only single hope is that the writer is setting this up because he thought that there was no season 6 planned. So he was closing all the story's loose ends. Then, when he heard that he is getting a season 6, all of these tied up ends would be reversed or worsened because they are basically in a different time-line. Kind of like Adrien in season 6 is actually in a relationship with... idk Kagami. But! The problem is that the writer is easily dismissing a lot of real good naughty characters and Ladybug will just turn into the most unrealistic Disney story where everything works out for the main character like a Mary Sue or Gary Stu story.
@@julianmarco4185 I feel like we've been in an alternate timeline since season 3 and I wouldn't be surprised if the writers kick us out of the multiverse in the next season, it might be nice to have more than one great antagonist who consistently fails Like the Hawk Mothe from the future who seems to have slipped out of the plot in mid-turn, it would have been interesting to see a new enemy attack from the future and therefore unstoppable by conventional means... Maybe I'm extrapolating a little too much
tbh the sabrina plot is better if you think of it as like, she was jealous that chloe and lila were better friends without her- it would also make more sense if chloe gave her gifts occasionally or something to keep her around, or she was scared to leave chloe because a lot of the class doesn't really like her either. cuz she really wasn't getting anything out of her servitude with chloe
@@mikaelaxx9602 Yes, another element that is sorely lacking in development for my taste and it is up to the fan to fill in the blanks once again. In my first impressions I think that Sabrina was in love with Chloé and that Chloé would have come out and it would have been a source of her discomfort to be afraid of being rejected by her father.
I'm desperately hoping that Chloe becoming mayor was just a fakeout, and the next episode opens with someone telling her that she cant be mayor. Then after that, if they reallyy want her to act as a mayor, have her get akumatized to harm anyone who tries to keep her from being the mayor. It would have been cooler if Monarch somehow hacked some system and announced himself as mayor, and used akumas and the robot police to keep people from revolting
Gab as a villain lost most of his punch back in season 3, season 5 just buried the corpse that was left. Adrian and Marinette are cringe, but a good kind of cringe as they're like 14, it's expected and cute in its own way, though its all stuff that's at least 2 seasons late as the show fumbled and dropped the ball several times with romance sub-plot to the point that Luka, the better option was either ignored or most recently, written out of the show as his mere presence threatened their refusal to actually have stuff happen. As for Lila and Chloe, my theory is that the former was supposed to replace Gab as the main threat but they never got around to it, realized their mistake too late and are now trying to fit as much misdeeds and villain vibes onto her name as possible, either not realizing or not caring that it just makes her annoying. With the latter, that could be lingering resentment that the creator had for her in the staff, or the writers thinking that they've already dug her character's grave, may as well throw her into it and bury her alive. As for the mayor, the show's always been terrible with what he can and can't do, and like his daughter, the man gets no respect as if there was a cut scene when he grew a back bone and demanded a divorce and renounced custody of Chloe, they didn't even care to leave it in the final draft as in their eyes, it didn't matter. I can't even pretend that they're using cartoon logic to justify how much influence he had as even cartoons meant for preschoolers would have done better with what he can and can't do as mayor.
As for other councilors, the mayor must be at least 18 years of age when elected to office. The mayor must be a French national. and Chloe is 15 years old like she have to wait

Okay even I was supposed to be watching this video, but I just can't get over the fact that Zoe is literally nowhere to be found at 3:07. Like seriously isn't Zoe already part of this so call "friend group" or something? I know she supposedly to be one year younger them, and have different classes. But man I feel like the writers just keep forgetting that Zoe is suppose to hangout them. Plus, the school didn't start yet either. Well at least they didn't forget about her at 8:59.

It’s very sad and cringe how much Astruc fucking despises Chloe. The writing for her lately make this show borderline unwatchable now.
seriously write her off *sighs*...
Ikr like if Astruc hates her so much, then why don't he just write her off the show instead of trying to turn her into a psychopath.
To use Chloe’s own words. This episode is ridiculous! Utterly ridiculous!
Those words can be used to describe the entire show.

This is what you get when you get a guy who is a storyboard dude and not a director or writer free range his idea was great, but his follow through sucks should have brought real writers and directors in and him being a consultant for the image he wants
That's what I'm saying
I have no idea why they are giving Andre a redemption arc, especially this late. They have shown time and time again that even without the influence of Chloe and Audrey, he is still corrupt. And theyve also shown that Chloe picks up this corrupt behaviour from him, for example:
In season one during the class president election, Chloe wants to dig dirt on Marinette , which she says her father does during elections.
Ausrtruk just plainly hates Chloe.

God, I really wanna know what the French audience think of that ending.

You read my mind.
Chloe is constantly being manipulated in this show. She only exists for people to enrage, and then redirect so they destroy whatever THEY want. Thus they suffer no consequences and chloe remains hated which is seen as socially acceptable.
@@powerpuff6872 No she is not
@@myrla9745 She literally is.
Because of the poor writings of Miraculous, the show is slowly starting to go Seasonal Rot. It is losing quality.
The creator really double triples and quadruple downed on marking chole unlikable and unforgivable and yet I still stand my my plan of killing off Zoe

All hail dictator Chloe. This is the kind of absurd villainy that this show deserves.

I can imagine the woman who bullied Thomas just living her best life while this man still obsesses over her.
She probably stopped being a bully and improved as a person. Meanwhile Thomas is busy stewing in hate.
The ending broke my brain, I could not process what had happened. This shows writing is so bad oh my god
It will repair your brain

Its always crazy to me how they can fit so much into one episode.😅
as someone who loved chloe's character in the first two seasons I wish the writers had written her out the show after the third season and focused on other characters instead
this has been a thought in my head for long - the writers need to give lila some powers , like they need to establish that she has some sort of connection to the miraculous history, in her very first introduction she knows about the fox miraculous and SHE HAS an exact mock up like what ?!?!? and how is she able to able to manipulate everyone maintain different identities and also HER MOTIVATION what is that revenge for not being the face of alliance rings revenge on marinette.
I remember there was a theory that coined her as a sentimonster from the order
Alix was shown with Max eating ice cream in the Season 3 finale tough.

I would like to point out that it doesn't discourage the relationship since Ace and aro can still fall in love, they are just less likely.
But I also got the sexuality wrong, Thomas says Alix gives off Ace and Max gives off Aro.
I wouldn't be surprised if Thomas just forgot since he is known for his inconsistency .

At this level I wonder why Astruc didn't just enter the show, take a gun and shoot Chloe point-blank, it would have had the merit of being faster! 😤
@@FlawPink It was sarcasm on my part to put an end to Chloe's flouting but indeed, I think he prefers to degrade her a little more (if possible at this level)
@@matthewpenguindrum6001 , He should just enter the show and make Chloe into a literal demon. At least it be a bit more believable.
This would probably be the only/best way to give her, at last partly, a redemption arc.
So everyone: Andre, Sabrina, Ms Bustier, they're all sweet little angels corrupted by Chloe who turns out is just plain evil, doesn't have any ambitions down to the point of iliteracy *and* takes over the parisian government with an army of robots simultanously.
Right now I'm honestly curious how much crazier and unhingded this show can become.
How is she pregnant
Also a bit suspicious that we haven't seen a single male x male couple, isn't it? Why does it seem like explicitly gay characters in kid's shows can only be fem x fem? Like maybe there will be two gay dads for one of the side characters but no main gay male couples? The Owl House, The new Monster High (female x femme nonbinary), literally the 5 confirmed and 2 implied gay characters in Miraculous..

@@FlawPink yes of course, everyone can and everybody is allowed to do and experience it in their own way.
Mrs Bustier's female partner raises a lot of questions, like is there a sperm bank in the Miraculous world now? smh.
@@CalebCarmichael14it’s good for shows like this to spark curiosity and questions about the world at a young age. confusion isnt a bad thing
This is the episode where most people should stop even pretending like this is a coicent story line
But seriously Chloe father just disown her, not even gonna try to reason with her or get help ?
I am happy he is a decent human being somewhat deep down but like she only 14 you can still save her
Honestly I don't blame him, I would have faltered and ditched her a long time ago
He honesty has tried, but it always failed, happy he got away though
@@LNRspeaks Was not he to spoil her in that way in the first place? Her mother was not there for the most of her life
@FrancescaAkira89 He pampered her, expecting her to change
There are parents in the real world like that, know one myself,
The fact he grew a spine said no and ditched her once he knew she was too far gone is something none of the real world parents would do, it honestly makes him better
@@LNRspeaks Expecting for her change? She is 14 years old. From when he was waiting, when she was 5? 10? Never thought to educate her or give her the good example? It's ridiculous and he is not a better person because he disowned a 14 years old, that's not even legal.
I'm baffled at the idea that the corrupt mayor of Paris is getting a redemption. What's the moral here?
@@roxirock5455 Oh yes i forgot that !!! I'm starting to think he's even worse than his wife 😂
Aw hell nah ig Lila is older than everyone than Adrien a victim
2 episode redemption mini-arc (currently)
-Sabrina has always been the damned soul of Chloe, helping her in bad plans and going so far as to lie and steal Marinette's diary, but suddenly she decides that it is not right what they are doing and in 1 episodes she is redeemed?
🤦♂️🤡
@@julianmarco4185 I feel like we've been in an alternate timeline since season 3 and I wouldn't be surprised if the writers kick us out of the multiverse in the next season,
it might be nice to have more than one great antagonist who consistently fails
Like the Hawk Mothe from the future who seems to have slipped out of the plot in mid-turn, it would have been interesting to see a new enemy attack from the future and therefore unstoppable by conventional means...
The last two episodes feel like the writers are just throwing in big moments to stop the fans from complaining about story progression lol 😂
Smarty Pants is literally losing his mind for 14 minutes and 24 seconds.
Nobody despises Chloe more than Thomas
"look over there, there's a lesbian, now SHUT UP ABOUT IT" is probably the best way to describe that kind of representation ive ever heard
Let me give u an advice
THROW YOUR BRAIN WHEN U WATCHING. IT WASN'T MAKE SENSE FROM SEASON1 when Fu just give the miraculous to any random child that help him.
And why not a real responsible adult ?
Actually I already known. This is the show that Thomas always want to make it come true from more than 10 years ago. And Marinette is the dream MC that he always want
That's the real reason for why u can't change the mc more realistic, so are the other characters
*sigh* And the season started out so strong. What has happened to the writers? Is it drugs? A back alley lobotomy?
Seriously, a five year old would question the logic of this nonsense.
My 8 year old cousin literally doesn't watch it anymore. In her words, "it got weird" 😭😭
@@esayem7746Smart kid 😂
Rose is a bicon and I love her.
Seriously they should have made the mayor the president because that’s WAY TOO MUCH POWER
They outlawed Monarch! Wait was that not a thing This guy was still considered a regular citizens. 😂😂😂
Well done smarty I was excited for these reviews. The episodes were great but your reactions are so much better xd. I'm so sorry if your brain is melting from the madness and I do mean this has been fun and made my day.
At this point all I can think about when I watch this show is, that it is evolving, just backwards
