@@dylanwhelan1725 Most people don’t get that bar - it’s a not a call out to them.. hence why he says “it’s a fckn miracle to be this lyrical, paint my face with clown makeup and a smiley face, I'm insane..". He is taking shots as he generally does. I can't remember which "rule of hip hop" it is for EM (it's 1-3) that you never say lyrical miracle in a track. (Google it) this isn't a content track, he is telling an off the wall story using an absolutely ridiculous rhyme scheme with impeccable cadence / flow & delivery. Mind you, the first verse hits on a couple points about himself and how he entered the game.. the 2nd verse actually speaks about quite a bit. From his overdose, to the effects of the drugs (the going blind / can't feel legs part) Actually the more I write about this track the more I realize it contains a lot of various things - it's almost a flex with a great beat to go along with it. At least he isn't talking about how much money he has, how many ho's he's plowed, and repeating the same word 20 times as most other rappers were doing when this track came out.
@@dylanwhelan1725 upon listening to this again, the inner & outter multi-syllable rhyme scheme(s) in this track are sick. The cadence, flow, and delivery are next level for this period in time. You’d still be hard pressed to find someone in the current day that can do this.

ICP and Eminem used to have beef. They’re both from Detroit. Back in the day Eminem passed out a flyer that said ICP might show up for his EP release party. Icp was handed flyer and pissed. They dissed the fuck out of each other for years and squashed the beef right before Proof passed.
ICP had a huge following in Detroit as well as did Esham. Who signed with ICPs label back in early 2000s. Eminem will say Esham was a huge influence. Esham began dissing Em too. Eminem even shouts out Esham in songs too saying things like; “I’m a cross between Manson, Esham and Ozzy”
It honestly goes way deeper than this. Both Eminem and ICP have multi songs/bars/skits/jabs at each other for years. As well as altercations in Detroit and disses done on stage and taped concerts.
For example ICP dubbed a remix of My Name Is called Slim Anus where they switched words making fun of Eminem on a National Radio Show. Eminem on the Up In Smoke DVD painted up blow up dolls like ICP and made them do suggestive things. Eminem also released skits on Marshall Mathers LP where it sounded like gay sex was going on with Violent J and Shaggy and then on the song Marshal Mathers he dedicates a whole verse to them.
Eminem also shot up ICPs peoples car with a paintball gun at a Detroit nightclub. A employee of Psychopathic Records (ICPs label) was caught by Em making out with his girl Kim and Em may have pulled a gun…speculation.
Em said the line “Fuck ICP buy my CD” right after ICP refused to be guest at his release party on a flyer he advertised them on without asking.
ICP also has said the hate the way Eminem blew up. While guys like Esham, Kid Rock (he used to be just a rapper in early 90s toured with Ice Cube/2 $hort), ICP and other grinded for years to get where they are. Eminem was signed by Dre and catapulted to fame. Biting the crazy shock rap style ICP/Esham perfected and were local celebs with in Detroit before national fame. So lack of respect/love triangle/dick riding/biting style and jabs escalated a very long beef. As I said it was squashed when Proof did a song with one of their old label mates of ICP and both the D12 camp and Psychopathic Records camp went bowling together. Officially squashing the beef no lie lol.
Their beef was featured also on the hiphop dvd series Beef I believe it was Beef 2 or 3. But ICP vs Eminem was one of the big segments on that doc.
I love watching you guys and let me be probably the first to tell you as an Eminem fan from childhood and a rap fan and artist myself you won’t catch everything from an Eminem song on the first listen. Sometimes maybe but not when it’s packed full 😂

what's great about these reactions. Is it shows what true Eminem fans know and love. songs like wicked ways although never spoken of, are the most highly requested when new reactors get on. Which mean we fans are seeing the same greatness and patterns. not just the hits. but the more obscure songs that are fire.

Great break down, and LOVE the focus on breaking down lyrics. I'm from a Rakim mindset, who, back in the 80s, said he loved the music part but felt like rap was moving away from "lyrical content" and hoped people would focus on it.
In the cape part, he was describing his suicide. Then proceeds to describe taking over hell and how he's even worse than Satan all leading up to dark thoughts. When he says "sons you" it's a double entendre for the sun which has ultra violet rays. He continues to say that he's always mean with so much hatred in him. "Nickel and dime" is a common phrase and was about about how he feels the rap game took everything he had and he's getting all of it back.
I believe the "two dimes and a nickle" was also a refererence to the members of slaughterhouse. Royce 5'9 is also referred to as Nickle Nine. Not sure if many caught that one

Great video as always! I am right there w/ you on the chorus. It's very catchy (earworm for sure, but it sounds good w/ the beat) Not sure if anyone mentioned it but ICP is from Detroit as well and they had a pretty entertaining beef that went back and forth in the day. They have set differences aside quite a while ago. It was more playful than anything though that's why when people mention his beefs it's not brought up much. Most of it stemmed from a mix up that got carried away.

Eminem and his abilities reminds me of how in sports there are those players that are so good they make it look easy so you might not see how much work they put into it. His writing skill is unmatched but if some other good rappers study and put enough effort into it they might come up with some nasty bars like Em but any other rapper can try everyday until their dying day they would never be able to bend and contort words in the flow like he does. You dont know why it sounds so different at first
