The reason why people mix Benzos with Alcohol is that there is no real high, no real euphoria from Benzos alone. Using Benzos alone make you fall asleep before any high could develop. Never had a high on a Benzo only. Once you put alcohol into the mix you feel a high. Or you simply mix it together you need less pills which means your prescription lasts longer
Something similar happens to me but with weed, when it’s weed alone I don’t really feel that much but once I start drinking it’s when things start to get fun lol
Great video, very informative and will help so many people stay safe. I know so many people who will mix benzodiazepines, and other hypnotics, with alcohol and don't know the risks. Even if I tell people myself it doesn't sink in. Hopefully having this information from a doctor will make people think twice before mixing these drugs, and to be mindful of how to stay safe if they choose to mix these drugs despite the dangers
My new methadone clinic is finally cool with me being on Benzos again I just need an up to date prescription. I just need to find a new doctor that will prescribe me 15-20 Klonopin a month and I'll be totally anxiety free for the most part. This doctor at this new clinic that is only 6 miles from home instead of 18, seems to understand that if you're on them for a while that you most likely need to be weaned slowly just like methadone. He gave me a taper schedule of 10% a week. Xanax are the hardest to come off of cause they kick in fast and the half life is only like 12 hours I think if that. Klonopin lasts a lot longer and is much easier to taper off of imo. I wake up in the middle of the night, with such agitation and restlessness it's horrible. That's when it's time to take something to calm down cause you feel like you're going to jump out of your skin if you don't.
So glad I don’t live this life anymore. Ever since being on Suboxone, I don’t even drink alcohol anymore. Have many people mentioned this? That they have no desire to drink since being on subs? I never had an alcohol problem, but I do remember wild nights back in my day. Thank you for this video. Very, very helpful. Many people are in denial that Xanax is a very addictive drug.

Hello Dr B, I am tapering off valium (now down to 0.5mg per day) but suffering horrible anxiety and other symptoms. I am using alcohol at night to take off the edge. I am not sure what is worse the alcohol or benzos? My understanding is alcohol withdrawals only last 1 week or 2 maximum, where Benzo withdrawal can go on 12 months plus. Is alcohol the better of two evils at least until the Benzo withdrawals subside??
I have bad panic disorder s., I also have major depression disorder and social anxiety disorder. I have been a patient at MHealth. I do not drink alcohol. I need a low dose of benzo to level me out. I've had a lot of trauma in my life. S.Aand physical abuse.abuse anxiety disorder. Help me. I have commented on your channel and no help. I go to MHealth for 35 years. Should I go to another syc.
