1992, my one and only Sturgis attendance, rode across the USA from Tennessee and covered 4500 miles in 3 weeks, including staying in Sturgis for 5 days. Saw Neil Young and Crazy Horse at the Rapid City Coliseum, the best concert I've ever attended anywhere. Went to Daytona Bike Week for 20 consecutive years and a few beyond that.

The first bike was an 88 Softail Standard, then I had a 96 Heritage Classic, then a 2000 FLH standard, now I have a 2009 FLH Ultra Classic. I wrote each one of those bikes many times out to Sturgis. This will be my 19th trip if they have it and if I can go. Seems like the whole country is living two weeks at a time now. But if you want to see more Sturgis stuff. I'll be in the area today. The film won't come out for quite a few days. But I'll be there filming for the next couple weeks.
Went my first time in 1977, want to go back again. But, as I live in Florida, gotta make due with Daytona and runs to the Keys instead. Have a cold one for those of us that can't make it this year.
I'm going to be houseless soon I don't know if I'll be going to Sturgis next year it depends if I find a new house with a shop for my motorcycle. Otherwise it may be in storage. Hope not.
The first time I went to Sturgis was in `79. The locals in the diners on the way were talking about the number of bikers killed at "suicide turn." That was the old days.
They have improved almost all of the roads. Yes back in the day they were dangerous and people did die. Don't know how many died this year. Unfortunately I'm sure there's some as there would be in any event or town of 300,000 or so. God bless their souls

They used to get fucked up and see who could make the turn the fastest. If they lost it they got plastered into a stone wall.
