If you hadn’t have told me that was Ireland I would never have guessed , beautiful. My place was the Campsie hills just north of Glasgow , it felt like we spent the whole summer holidays up there exploring. Excellent Feargus.Cheers James
I know the campsies a bit, having lived in Glasgow for a couple of years back in 2008-10. I love those moments when pleasant/fun memories of those formative years can be triggered by going back there. All the best for now 🙂
Hi Fergus, wonderful mate, great to see you reliving your childhood. The trip must have brought back so many brilliant memories for you. It certainly is a beautiful area. All the best ma5e Dave 😀⛰🥾
Brlliant, Tayto crisps, and cheese and onion, always the best! I have just ordered a box... With luck they will arrive in time for my xmas avoidance backpack to Sandwood Bay (-:)~
Oh you know them? I took a couple of 12-packs back with me and had some on my latest camp yesterday. Delighted you feel up to hiking to Sandwood. I wonder if there will be anyone else there on Christmas?
The bark of a red fox + the shadow of your hand on the tent from your light 😂👍🍻 Dji mini3 pro brilliant from mpb they have quite a few 2nd hand as new at literally half price ...with warranty. Mine had one battery of the 3 charged once.
Cheers dude. That’s three recommendations for the mini 3 now as a replacement. Seems I chose wisely as I got one relatively cheap last week after getting back to Scotland. ATB 🙂
I've done very little walking in Ireland but the little I've done I've enjoyed. Gutted about your drone, I've had a few near misses with the wind taking me by surprise too. I also crashed mine into a wall recently, we've managed to fix it but it's not flying quite like it should, so every flight now feels like a bonus. It's a shame they are so expensive to repair. I had the DJI Mini 3, it's very good and of you do lose it in the wind there is a tracker so you can work out exactly where it has landed. It's still a horrible feeling though when you see it disappearing over the horizon!
Ow… crashed it into a wall. I’m impressed it survived at all! I have managed to scrape some cash together and get the mini 3 myself in the Black Friday sales since getting back from Ireland. It’s a great little machine - much quieter than the other one 👍
@ oh great, yes it’s a fab little drone. I’ve had two crashes with it now, both times I snapped a leg. Little tip incase you ever have an accident, gorilla glue! Much cheaper than a new drone! Will look forward to some of your new footage.
I have a theory onn your drone and a high likelihood of being able to find it with a bit of insight . Right where you lost it is a flight area overlapping airspace. Did it feel as if you hit a wall or geofence ? I suggest opening drone assist and zooming into the area where you lost it and let me know if you think your loss is along this intersecting line . I would enjoy searching for it and returning to you if i could determine some of the things you tried to do at the time of loss . My email is in my bio . Ive seen this geofencing wall type effect on other videos . The drone creeps along for no reason .
Thanks a million for the offer. Indeed you’re right about the wall, though I doubt that was it because it really was windy and I suspect the further I got away from Djouce the more I was out of the wind shadow. I’ll send you an email with the area I think it went down in if you’re really keen, but it’s steep and wooded so hard terrain for searching. If you do find it and it’s not ruined beyond hope you’re welcome to keep it or sell it. When I got back home to Scotland I dug put a bunch of old stuff to sell on eBay - as well as selling the remote and a spare battery for the lost drone - and bought a new little one in the Black Friday offers 🙂. ATB
@feargusc I will return it to you . Give me whatever data ideas you think might be helpful. You never know it's worth a punt. I used to mountain bike that steep descent. . It's be a good day out. I think once it crossed the line it was unable to return . . The line itself should be easy enough to determine . But as you know , avoiding danger will probably avoid finding it . . I like science . . Sorry to hear you lost it , and sold controller . Perhaps if I find it . You can replace those items .

I’ve always fancied a trip over to Ireland for a camp. Looks stunning. Great video Fergus.
Cheers dude... Wicklow is actually pretty subdued topographically - whereas there are some very dramatic spots along the west coast :)
Great video and wild camp 👍🙂
Thanks!

Thanks Dave. Yea as I said - I’m a sucker for nostalgia!

Great stuff, that big screen on the new controller is a game changer, hope you got one with it👍😊
@ nah… I’m fine with my phone for now… maybe upgrade in future when I’ve more cash!

great wee spot, its a shame about the drone, hope santa watches your vids.
Haha, cheers. Santa put some old stuff in my attic I was able to sell on eBay and buy another little drone with the proceeds 🎉
