The livery that you showed for a moment (N751LU) is for Liberty University! I am a multi-engine instructor there! That's so awesome to see our livery on X-Plane!
24:41 Never use ailerons in a stall, because it could aggravate the stall, and turn it into a spin due to being uncoordinated. Only use rudder when practicing power on and off stalls.
That eagle livery is from LUSOA (Liberty University School of Aeronautics) where I’m currently a student. Surprised they have that livery and wish there were more like it! Getting my multi commercial right now and love to see you Aviation vids keep it up!

Just get the Honeycomb yoke and you won't have to worry about the ignition key. It has it, master and avionics switches and external light switches. Far and above all other yokes IMHO. Good video Jeff but would've been nice to see how the AP works.
Nice flight!! Love general aviation....I just wish there was an option where you could change the tail number on Xplane 11...like with the Cessna 172. I kinda get bored of N172SP
I'm glad you commented on the dirt and grass on the floor, not to mention the scuffs and dings. I just watched on official promo video on the Prepar3d version, and that caught my eye so much that I had to say that when you want to yell at the guy to clean his airplane, well, that really shows attention to detail. Flight simming has come so far since my days with the original MS Flight sims. Keep up the great videos. They're fun.
Just a stunning video, so much like the real world, it's jaw dropping. The sensations of the power on stall and steep turns brought me right back to my flight training days. But also the weather, haziness, scenery and the detailed minutiae of airport operations itself are so well rendered, and add to whole GA aura. This one video has convinced me to look further at X-Plane 11 - it seems to be a genuinely useful tool for maintaining currency. But I realize that X-Plane itself can be a basic backbone for add-ons that help increase the sense of realism - out of the box I suspect it looks nothing like your finely-honed product. So apart from the Arrow itself, clearly a masterpiece of programming, and Ortho4XP, can you tell us what other add-ons you were using to achieve this level of realism?
Hey Jeff, sorry if it's posted elsewhere - but could you give us a summary/roundup of which plugins and addons outside of aircraft/scenery you're using? Interested to see which weather product you're using!
Great Airplane, I think I might get this one first when I switch to XP11. I wish we could have a Turboprop in this high quality (TBM or Malibu Mirage!)
you can get flyinside xp and it allows you to play this in VR, it's fantastic! X-Plane 11 will have VR integration in the next couple builds by the end of the year.
that's a really different way of starting the engine....where i fly, we put full mixture, fuel pump on, throttle full up then 1.4rth (hot engine start) and we crank. cold engine you also have the 3 times primers and 4 times up/down of the throttle then 1/2.
When doing steep turns, you need to concentrate on the nose of the plane and the horizon. Put the horizon on a point on the nose of the plane, and make it stay there. During your steep turns, you are climbing and diving most of the time. It's all about where the eye's are. Hope this helps. I've got the steep turns down, but landing this plane is very difficult compared to the Cesna's. I have a perfect approach, and then BANG! In the last few feet, I drop in. So you do a much better job of landing this plane than I do. I've only had it for a few days, but you really have to work the power on the landing much, much, much more than a Cesna. So like you said, there is practice needed with this particular plane. As you show after landing also, ground steering is very sensitive as well. A lot to get used to.
Stev A Low wing aircraft have a ground effect when you come close to the runway. It tends to float a while. When landing and close to the ground, just keep pulling the nose up a little and slowly reduce speed. It will land itself.
I know it's an older video, but the PA-28 elevator trim wheel is between the seats , then going forward is the flap lever, and then the rudder trim. I've never seen a Cherokee with it anywhere else.

If you ever fly an ICP Savannah, with flap down you need get get to zero airspeed to stall it, no powered stalls because the angle of attack would be ridiculous.
Nice video! May I ask how you got the autogen scenery working on top of the ortho scenery? I have some ortho installed but I can't get the trees and roads to work on top of it, and although it looks great from the air it feels flat and motionless on the ground
@@modelrailwaynoob Ok, well I would usually use aircraft with maintenance tabs as my main aircraft but I will still definitely get the Piper PA-28, just a bit later.

Good video. Really liked the Orthos. I'm sure you get tired of other pilots giving you tips, but I'll do it anyway lol...I'd typically pull the prop back sooner than 2500 feet. You are flogging it at redline until you pull it back, plus it's much quieter and less vibration climbing out. In my 182, I'm usually pulling back to 2400 at 1000agl as I enter a cruise climb.
I'm flying this aircraft for my first flight on Wednesday, I tried today but it needs to go into maintenance because the previous pilot didn't blow out the fuel after the engine was turned off, leaving the spark plugs very greasy.
Of course, I go every year. The Blue Angles were particularly impressive this year. And this year the weather was perfect too which added to the enjoyment.
Nicely done. Just a tip: as a rule of thumb, you should set for climb settings on throttle, mixture and rpm within 1 minute from take off. You left mixture full rich which isn't good and exploded the 1 minute limit. I don't know if you fly for real so this tip could be engine (life) saving. Sorry if this is just for fun!
No laptop will run this effectively. You'll need desktop class stuff to be able to run this in an environment for training. If it helps, I'm hard strapped for cash but I am using a ryzen 1600 and an rx580 with Linux and frames are silky smooth. That is until you hit cloud layer. But otherwise its good. Good luck!
I would recommend getting a desktop. Go to pc part picker and get some cool stuff and have a good experience while having the fun of building your own pc. Nice video, beautiful plane. Can I ask what trees and autogen you are using ? Is it stock trees and autogen or some third party add on ? Trees and autogen look very realistic!
I have some what some may think stupid questions. I am new to x plane and was wondering how you get that extra pop out window on the side that lets you open doors, look at the checklist and so on. Another question is How do you set up the mouse to look around the cockpit? Really not liking using the arrow keys for that.
Thanks for the review. I like these type of GA aircraft. Like the Grumman Traveler, etc. Got me interested for sure. Looks like a plane that would be fun to fly with all of its nuances and all. Thanks again.
Jeff I have thrustmaster rudder pedalsI cannot control a plane for nothing when I taxi. They are really sensitive even with the sensitivity on low why is this?
@william273 going to calibration and when you go to calibrate them move the left pedal and then the right pedal you'll see the little blue dot Move side-to-side and then up and down
I'm hesitant about flying one of these Arrows after one of my school's Arrows crashed and killed both pilots because the wing separated due to a corroded spar
They should make a stand alone mod for this game, like you have a company that delivers cargo etc. So it'll be like American truck simulator but planes.
Hey awesome video! I had a question. So my zibo is stuck in this werid trim thing. It’s stuck in the nose up area and it won’t let me adjust it. It really messes the plane up and I cant d a flight with it. It says stab out of trim but it won’t let me. I installed some new liveries but I don’t think that would be the problem. Can you help? Thanks!
Jeff, you should be on rich when taxing. The increased amount of fuel helps cool the engine because there isn't as much airflow over the cylinders on the ground vs in the air. Otherwise I enjoyed the video!
My flight school we never leaned for taxi but with most they train you to do it. The leaning of the mixture during taxi is to prevent the fouling of the spark plugs. This airplane simulates that so you must lean for taxi.
As a former flight instructor I can say taxiing rich does very little for cooling of the engine as the cylinders in most GA airplanes. These smaller GA planes just don’t produce a lot of heat at idle. When flight schools don’t teach leaning it’s usually because it’s easier and cheaper to clean spark plugs than dealing with the damage that comes from over leaning. Also it’s sometimes difficult to teach effective leaning and some instructors ignore that lesson which hurts proper flight education. So make sure you lean for taxi, enrichen for takeoff and landing, and lean for altitude.
Thank you for this great video Jeff. I actually came here, because I'm considering buying this plane. But now after seeing this fantastic looking clouds in your video, I am very curious how you achieve them. My default XP clouds are looking terrible compared to yours.
Before you comment about the door please actually watch the video first.

@@jfavignano I meant that little window that tells you landing stats and comments such as "butter" etc.. that as standard? I have the full version... never seen it. I'll take a look later. Thanks.
Sorry.. wrong comment, for the wrong video LOL. yes, I see that the control panel is part of some pay ware planes now. Thanks. I'm new to flight sims... so I have a million questions.
Can you play x planes with a keyboard on Macbook
Great vid -- can you please tell me your pc hardware setup (CPU, GPU, RAM, VRAM etc.) to get such smoothness from XP? Thanks!
Nice video, beautiful plane. Can I ask what trees and autogen you are using ? Is it stock trees and autogen or some third party add on ? Trees and autogen look very realistic!
You are a very good pilot
I am using this plane in FSW (yes kill me), but it is a fantastic aircraft. Great quality. Well worth the money.
I have some what some may think stupid questions. I am new to x plane and was wondering how you get that extra pop out window on the side that lets you open doors, look at the checklist and so on.
Another question is How do you set up the mouse to look around the cockpit? Really not liking using the arrow keys for that.
right click with your mouse and drag around. Will let you look around the fight deck.
Which airport is this ? What place ?
I fly this plane irl in my training. Lovely plane!
Thanks for the review. I like these type of GA aircraft. Like the Grumman Traveler, etc. Got me interested for sure. Looks like a plane that would be fun to fly with all of its nuances and all. Thanks again.
+Robert Freeman if you want more speed you should hold off for the turbo variant that is releasing soon!
Why x-plane don't have other plans moving on-site. I am the only plane.
is there a way to fix that?
in the base xplane you can just have the parked planes on the ground…to have planes flying around you need to install a mod
is it a full x-plane product or was built first for FSX
yay thank you for the plane vids we should fly together sometime
Jeff I have thrustmaster rudder pedalsI cannot control a plane for nothing when I taxi. They are really sensitive even with the sensitivity on low why is this?
rackum44 I have that same problem
@@jaymacneill9336 I figured it out I went into the settings you got to do each pedal separate when you calibrate it
@william273 going to calibration and when you go to calibrate them move the left pedal and then the right pedal you'll see the little blue dot Move side-to-side and then up and down
@william273 I think the one pedal does the left and right and the other pedal does up and down
rackum44 what do you mean
I'm hesitant about flying one of these Arrows after one of my school's Arrows crashed and killed both pilots because the wing separated due to a corroded spar
CMDR T Pup ERAU?
Dillon Sanders yep. It was awful
CMDR T Pup I saw it on the news, it was in Florida right?
Cameron j yeah at Embry-Riddle. We're all pretty shocked
Thats a maintenance problem not an aircraft problem
Yeah, the battery switch does not power up the avionics in my install. Cant figure it out. Must be a bug.
They should make a stand alone mod for this game, like you have a company that delivers cargo etc. So it'll be like American truck simulator but planes.
Filip Borisov you can start a cargo virtual airline.
Try fseconamy
Hey awesome video! I had a question. So my zibo is stuck in this werid trim thing. It’s stuck in the nose up area and it won’t let me adjust it. It really messes the plane up and I cant d a flight with it. It says stab out of trim but it won’t let me. I installed some new liveries but I don’t think that would be the problem. Can you help? Thanks!
redownload the plane
Can you tell me what addons you have for x-plane 11 in 2018
What i learned to fly in, blue and white with the same red interior
False... Always lean after start and during taxi... That's standard SOP for the Arrow
Keeping the mixture rich is equivalent to foul plugs before take off
Do another Steve price and lawny price
Were you starting that plane in the middle of an earthquake?
you forgot to close the door!! :D But .. you mentioned so further on lol. You make amazing video's Jeff, I learn bucket-loads from them! Thanks.
Thank you for this great video Jeff. I actually came here, because I'm considering buying this plane. But now after seeing this fantastic looking clouds in your video, I am very curious how you achieve them. My default XP clouds are looking terrible compared to yours.
