Masking tape on the watch. Did they give you detailed instructions on how to do it? What kind of tools? They should have offered to send the watch back and have they do it for you.
Yes there were instructions but not tools and they did ask me if I wanted to try to do it myself 😅 So now i just delivered it to my local watchmaker for ez
Put some tape over the knife blade to prevent scratching

My local watchmaker did it free of charge so no problem there 🥳
I wonder if they would replace it for you if you would sent the watch to them now after you know you won't do it..
