I just started fresh in this game, Ship 1 without account link, and I was quite worried Braver was not for pick during character creation. Now I guess I'll look at the Class counter, many thanks.
Yeah not exactly sure why both Braver and Bouncer aren't selectable during class creation but they should both be available once you get the class counter!

For Knuckles weapons, I don't have much experience myself but I asked a friend who uses them. They have pretty good single target damage and the parry is godlike. Is there a particular aspect that the weapon feels lacking in?
@@vynirasnowy9673 After further testing. they feel great i think its just getting used to the different bosses and their move sets and timing the WA just right to get the parry that you were talking about. But i think the flurry move could use a damage boost but i think that has to come from an augment or something.
The challenge for me in this is game is both learning the system as well as remembering when i log in again haha. Lucked out with a good Alliance so they've been helpin me with some of this.
@@SpiritWarrior78 Yeah augments will help a ton with giving you a damage boost, though for Fighter the class skills will also do a lot so make sure to use those points!
And yes learning the systems can be a bit of a challenge but over time it should feel a lot more natural. Also glad to hear you've found a good Alliance!
Very newer player here, but I like digging into the details early. Launcher Ranger main (god I love the Divine Strike long range nuke), I've been poking through the subclasses and haven't really found one that I find helpful. So perhaps you (or others watching this) might be able to answer the following:
1) Looking through the skill trees when I see something that calls out a dual requirement, such as "Must be a Main Class/Assault Rifle" from Rangers, is that an Either-Or requirement or an All requirement? I.e. can I either have Ranger as my Main class OR have an Assault Rifle equipped and just have Ranger as a subclass, or must I both be a Ranger main with an Assault Rifle?
2) I have already seen active PAs of a subclass that is normally supposed to have a rather long duration cancel themselves instantly if I switch back to my Ranger Launcher. Is that the same for their passive buffs? I.e., for me to gain the benefit of a passive buff from a subclass skill tree I not only have to equip such a subclass weapon but it has to be ACTIVE for the buff to function, and therefore wouldn't if I'm using a weapon of my main?

Great guide I slept on this game for so long been lost looking for a decent newer mmo and was steered away from this game due to content creators giving it bad reviews. So eventually I ended up just giving it a try and fell in love with it immediately but fount myself lost and overwhelmed but this guild helped a lot now I have a good idea of what to do thx so much:)

I'll admit there are some understandable criticisms people will say about NGS, primarily regarding endgame content, but I still think it's absolutely worth at least trying out!

@@DeciNate_ I've only put a couple hours into the original PSO2, though I've heard very good things about it. A large majority of my time in PSO2 has been with NGS.
And I still do play NGS! Sometimes it's just to do my dailies but I still log in a decent amount. For the next couple weeks I'll also be playing more than I usually have been with the new Kvaris region recently being released!

This is a amazing Game
So NGS did an update last October (2021), which included bringing Bouncer into the game... Is there any reason you can't start off with that class in character creation? I enjoyed playing it in PSO2, and would like to continue with it, but can't figure out how to get it.
I got no idea why both Braver and Bouncer aren't available at character creation. However they should be available whenever you get access to the class counter, which is pretty early on.
@@vynirasnowy9673 Yeah, I tried that method, as well, but every time I went to the class counter in NGS, the NPC kept saying 'come back when you're more experienced'. I switched over to PSO2 and changed to Bouncer there, but of course, I got my hopes up with thinking I could go back to NGS like that. Is there a specific quest you have to get to or complete, in NGS, to unlock the class counter???
@@Ren.9452 How far have you gone into the story and have they told you how the class counter works yet? I don't remember exactly when you unlock it but I feel like it shouldn't be that far into the story
@@vynirasnowy9673 I got a general explanation of the area from one of the NPCs (can't remember her name). Figured I needed to lvl up more, so I did some random quests before moving on with the story. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything online to explain Bouncer not being available, so I got fed up and uninstalled the game ^^" Perhaps I did that too soon, though......
@@Ren.9452 yeah I can't imagine it's very far into the story. If you don't see something related to it as a story side quest you probably just need to complete the next main quest or two

Does this game monetize the gameplay? I looked briefly at the cash shop and the cosmetic gacha stuff seemed a little aggressive
Honestly not really. Paid players get some bonuses and you need the premium paid currency to roll the gachas, but it never directly affects gameplay.
The closest it gets to affecting gameplay is being able to more easily sell items on the market and then use the money to buy equipment that will affect gameplay. However as of right now I still think you can get very good equipment for the endgame as a f2p player. This indirect system of paying for in-game money can help you get more optimal builds faster, but I don't think anything in the game right now even warrants that level of optimization.
how does death work in this game? (when hp goes to 0)
like, you can only respawn? can you be revived? there's a res skill, or an item to revive? only you can revive yourself or somebody else can revive you? is there a limit to deaths?
Sorry for the late reply! The main way to revive is to have someone else use a reviving item on you, which each player can hold 5 of at a time. There is a self reviving item but it's on I believe a 2 hour cooldown and a lot more rare than the item that revives others. Some missions might impose a challenge to limit deaths but for a vast majority of your time the limit on deaths is more related to how many reviving items people have, which from my experience is way more than you'll ever need.
Level 10 here. And my inventory is full and i have no idea what to do with all of this stuff. The items in particular. These menus can be pretty challenging lol
Ah sorry I hope my response isn't too late! I might be wrong here but typically unless an item is a silver/gold weapon/armor you can use to level up equipment with or it isn't the highest rarity currently available, you're probably fine selling it.
You can also purchase Material Storage with SG which I highly recommend. It's a dedicated storage for materials which they'll automatically be deposited into. Extended Storage can also help if you need extra space for equipment!

@@y.rj_ You are not locked to whatever class you select at character creation! The weapons you can wield will be whatever weapons are tied to your main and sub classes, and your main and sub classes can be changed free of charge in any of the main cities!

I can't believe this only dropped on Xbox, man I miss playing PSO on a console- I gave up on the Steam version after the first like 6 hours of the game.
Yeah the fact that in NA the only console it's on is Xbox really sucks. In Japan they got it on PS4/Switch but I think they just got some deal or something with Microsoft, not entirely sure though
Also any particular reason the Steam version didn't do it for you? Not judging or anything, just curious
@@vynirasnowy9673 ; I honestly couldn't tell you- can't really pin it on just one thing. I used to play PSO since the Dreamcast and back when I had a 360 I even played Universe. I also played the Japanese version of PSO2 back when it was still in Beta thanks to the translator community.

Would you recommend this to solo players?? 🤔
There's almost no downside to playing this game solo. Support skills from certain classes can be very helpful, but for the most part you just run your own game plan and coordination with other players is rarely, if ever needed.
However there is an exp/money/drop rate bonus if you're in a party. In order to get this people will usually party up with randoms in battle zones or get a party together in central city before an urgent quest, though both of these are still easy to set up as a solo player.
Is that Trails music I hear in the background or have I just been listening to too much Trails soundtracks lately?
Yeah it's Pancake on the Way Home From School and Endless Possibilities from CS3 and Like a Whirlwind from Hajimari! I definitely use a lot of Trails songs in my videos lol

@@TaqSoto I ended up playing Hajimari a few months ago with the spreadsheet translation on an overlay so I've used some of its songs in videos. And glad to see another Trails fan, the series is definitely one of my favourites!

what binding using for instant transfer between 2 weapon?
Assuming you're referring to Multi-Weapons, there is no binding. The way Multi-Weapons work is they give you access to the movesets of two weapons on a single weapon. This is what allowed me to go back and forth between Twin Dagger and Katana moves so easily in the Multi-Weapon section of the video.

@@phamhoangthong4815 To my knowledge I don't think you can switch weapons instantaneously without it being a Multi-Weapon. You might want to check out the video again to see if that was the case.

I just downloaded the game on steam and now I'm hearing that it's p2w is there any truth in that. I don't want to do a whole bunch of grinding just to get stuck behind a paywall.
If we're speaking just about things affecting gameplay I'd say no, I think the game is far from p2w in that regard. Weapons/armor generally go for pretty cheap so getting those isn't a problem. Augments can cost a ton if you're trying to get some of the really good ones for most/all of your slots and are buying some off the personal shop to speed things up, but I still think it's been pretty manageable as a f2p player. Paying real money can help speed things up but again, should be totally fine as a f2p player.
Cosmetics however can potentially get pretty high in price in the personal shop. It's not out of the question to get certain items, it'll just take a bit more time. The really expensive items tend to go for ~7-12 mil meseta, which is a lot, but isn't impossible as a f2p. Also the only items that I find get anywhere near this range are things like female hair and emotes. Items like clothing are usually a lot cheaper. I can't confirm this but I have a feeling cosmetics are the main reason the lack of meseta has been an issue for some players.

@@Farron_01 Like I said previously in the thread, yeah being a f2p player should be fine. You should be able to pretty reasonably get really good equipment and items without paying too much on the player market. For some of the really rare items (e.g. augments) paying real money can help speed things up but I think that's far from necessary right now since there isn't too much incentive to really optimize your build.
For cosmetics, some items can go for around 7-12 mil meseta. While this can take a bit to build up, it's still not too bad as a f2p player. From my experience those high prices are also mostly female hair and emotes, so if you're trying to get anything else (e.g. clothing) it's usually a lot more reasonable.
If you want to get into the game, you shouldn't have to worry about spending real money :)

Not gonna lie, I’m at level 60 and I know jack shit, up until now, I was using weapons 30 levels below me, I didn’t even know magic was a thing
How's your BP then? Unless your armor is really optimized I'd be surprised if you weren't having trouble doing some of the current endgame stuff though maybe I overestimate the current thresholds

If you have a high end gaming rig, this game is going to suck so bad for a variety of reasons. DLSS is very badly implemented in this game. Vsync can only be used in this game if you do not use DLSS. You need Vsync due to the amount of screen tearing that goes on especially in cut-scenes. Many of us using rtx3080ti card, and using more than 64gb ddr 4 memory and and a i9 cpu and very fast ssd drives have tried all sorts of things to stop the tearing, make the graphics look better than they do (sometimes the graphics look sort of grainy or badly washed out in appearance, that is not how the graphics in the game actually look, but thanks to the dreadful pc port, this is what we are left with seeing. Stuttering as been reported too, but I have never experienced it. There is however upon changing areas (it is hard to believe in this day and age in gaming, but sega are using instancing. which means you character when it goes outside, it is joining an instance, which needs to load, and also causes graphical lag. very bad design). All in all despite being a pretty good game, it is very poor on high end rigs, from all of the problems the game presents, and yet sega gives everyone the bird instead of fixing the problems they know exist in the first place! Also this game is really confusing.
I can't speak much on DLSS issues, something I don't even think existed in NGS when I made this video.

As a current player there is 0 end game content. So my advice will be to play the story. Enjoy it. Don't spend any money, just play the game. Do all the story and then go for end game players. There is nothing. Just extra items in the item shop and new weapons which you can use on nothing because there's no end game content
new player guide: don't play this game until the developers get their head out of their ass and release a game with more than 4 hours of content
I agree the lack of endgame content is still a problem (I even have a video in the works about it), but this video is just here to help out those that want to try out and/or get into the game lol.
For Sega's attitude, they seem very open about addressing the criticisms of NGS. A good portion of the recent headline was spent going over the feedback survey from October and how they were going to try and fix the most common issues people have, before announcing they're going to do another survey for the game as of the Retem update.
I also think with what they have out right now people can still get a lot of fun out of the game. There's a decent amount to do as you make your way to the endgame, and this is also when the world will be a lot more fresh. It's still something I can recommend people at least try out.

so SEGA must do something or most majority player will moved to FFXIV or scatter to other games
@@ShiroCh_ID again, SEGA has talked about how they're going to try and fix the largest problems with NGS right now. We'll see if they're able to follow through in the next few months, but at the very least they're clearly aware of how dissatisfied players are and are talking about how they want to make the game better.
Also while I don't know that much about game development, I think it will take a little bit of time to develop worthwhile long-lasting content.

Could you please elaborate? Though I'll at the very least say there are combat sectors you can grind levels in suited for whatever level you're currently at

new players guide- go to the original game and not the new geenesis variant reasons. A flushed out story, proper leveling system, fluent combat, challenging opponents, all the classes are available, an actual story that is optional, Proper exp gain from fighting higher enemies.
New genesis- crappy design, no real leveling system borked as all hell literally lvl 3 helped beat a lvl 60 boss and guess what you get 0 exp thats right not even a smudge of exp, oh you want story better get ready to run the entirety of bum fuck any where cause it makes no since...want to use you favorite class from the original nope you only got 5, oh shit you want to earn skill points as you level oh hell no you gotta do capsuls against enemies that are way above you level and you cant farm the same capsul twice...Any one who thinks new genesis is an improvement of the original is brain dead here
Here is the news player guide, you wanna have fun, you wanna play pso2..go to the original variant seriously im not even joking any new gen player wont argue with my points against new genesis, the leveling is crappy , boring story horribly flushed out, no exp reward for beating higher levels opponents, the combat is botchy as all hell in comparison to the original, and the story is hard as fuck to access because its leg day 24/7.
My advice as someone who played it since it came out both of he games...the original is better. Hands down, new gen in fact was one of the biggest flops of all time, it was so bad there were videos on it, even game informer siad that shit was a flop...
Hentai game, no-life, uninteresting, non-engaging content praised as "good" content. i guess the game is catered to a very specific audience and isn't a game that everyone can sit and play with friends to have a good time. I guess this is why players are satisfied, because of a sense of elitism/inclusion that they can't achieve by other means irl. Addiction and unimaginative minds are a dangerous combo.
Gameplay consists of skipping unimportant dialogues with zero weight behind them, loading screens, so that you can reach the braindead combat and movement without any weight or solid feel to it, all locked behind an inaccessible wall of systems, essentially buffers, text boxes, pop-up windows that you have to force yourself to adapt to, just so that you can be hooked on the gameplay loop and have fun with running around the game's loops like a good hamster. The most fun part about the combat is how you can stay in the air forever. You'll always be mindlessly avoiding every dialogue or textbox which doesn't feel rewarding as these take up a large portion of the gameplay loop (can't understand how a sane human could get interested in this game's world/story when there are tons of more interesting stuff out there to consume/experience/study)
If the game requires you to get addicted to it so you can enjoy it, might as well start doing something else addictive like gambling. I forgot, weebs that play this game don't have money to support themselves, let alone gamble. Thus, they default to grindy, f2p, no-life games, with as little mechanical requirements as possible, to satisfy their need of fulfillment and the need of "I did something today" instead of looking at themselves in the mirror and understanding how they let days go by with them staring at anime girls on a dumb screen for "fun".
No, you can't convince me that there aren't more fun, healthier, or just overall plain better alternatives for every person out there. Wasting time out of your life isn't 'fun'. It's disgusting. An image is worth a thousand words, they say. A parallel comes to mind: The Land of Cockaigne
Not gonna lie, the main reason I've always wanted to try PSO games is because of the cute little buddy thing that floats alongside you. Been too busy playing SWG for the past 100 years but finally gonna give this a try. Sad I missed out on the original PSO, but guess PSO 2 or whatever it's called these days is the next best thing.
It's not actively updated but the original PSO2 is still up and running and I've heard pretty good things about the overall story!
Of course I also do recommend at least checking out PSO2 NGS as well!
