    total of tulle used: 2 bolts - 40 yards total
    I am 5'-3" length for the front was 30 inches, length for the side/back 60 inches of tulle

    Thanks for the video! I made mine yesterday and the result was amazing! But instead of a dress I made a skirt and a long sleeve cropped top.

    First, thank you for this amazing video. It’s really helpful!
    What’s is the total inch and yard of the tulle fabric u used? I am 5.5 and do u think 54” x 40 yards will be enough?
    Thank you

    • @Zhannastar
      @Zhannastar  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm 5.3 I used 40 yards..I think it will be enough for you as well. I started the tulle right above my knee

    Great video! Question though...when I cut my tulle 30in and then add it to the elastic it looks small when I fold it half way. It measures 15in from my knee down. Is that how yours is?

    • @Zhannastar
      @Zhannastar  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      you have to cut it double the measurement. so When its folded, it is the exact length you want. For example if from my knee down its 24 inches, I will cut the total length 50 inches.

    Hey! I’m thinking about doing this method for a prom dress. How much yards did you use & how much did it cost you? Please answer! Thank you.

    • @Zhannastar
      @Zhannastar  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used 40 yards total. (I bought 2 bolts of 20 yards each. I got them at joann fabric store, I used 40% off coupon on each bolt. it saved me a lot of money, they have coupons on their app, or just look up online.) you're looking at anywhere from $20 to $80 depending if its matte, shiny or glitter tulle and if you used any coupons. I think I only spent $20 on tulle and $11 on the dress - I found it like at ross or forever21 don't really remember.

    Just wondering , how much did you spend making this ? Love the dress by the way !! Looks amazing !!

      @Zhannastar  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I remember I got the dress from Ross for $6 (I still wore it after, I removed the tutu I sewed on haha.
      And the 40 yards of tulle was $59 BUT I had a 60% off coupon from joann fabrics and the actual cost was $23.84. And the flowers I got them on sale from michaels craft store, I think it was like $3 and $1 from dollar tree for one of the other flowers. Anyways so THE WHOLE TOTAL $35.... I think its good.. seen similar selling on etsy for $300. this was a win for me haha - sorry long comment.

    This is awesome! I’m thinking of using this to make a Morticia Addams dress. How much tulle do you think I’ll need it I do the whole skirt 30 inches? I’m 5’3 too. (My dress would be about the same length as your black one)

    How clever! Did the tulle scratch your legs when you wore the dress?

    • @Zhannastar
      @Zhannastar  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      no, this tulle was a soft tulle. theres differentiations types of tulle some are more stiff and hard, I like to work with soft tulle cause you can almost not feel it on

    Hi, What is the width of this tulle fabric? Is 6" width 100 yards tulle enough to make this?

    • @Zhannastar
      @Zhannastar  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I got a bolt. 54yards x 40 yards. so the 6" inch roll won't be enough, but it would be easier to work with it. you might need between 6-10 of them...

    Quick Question: at 1:54 in the video it says to fold tulle in half? DId you cut that part at 60' or 30'? What does it mean by fold in half? How? Because when you ties it, it looked longer than 15'. That's the only part I'm confused on.

    • @Zhannastar
      @Zhannastar  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      so I cut that part into 60 inches, and than I folded it in half so I can cut the strips faster. and yes when I fold them to tie the tutu part will be 30 inches in length. where I said folded in half DONT cut there, you don't have to fold it, I was just super pregnant and I didn't want to crawl on the floor to cut from 1 inch all the way to the 60 inches strips lol

    Did you sew yhe tutu on from the inside ?

    • @Zhannastar
      @Zhannastar  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I sewed it onto the dress, so I had my dress the right side up, and I placed the edge/trim/end of the dress over the tutu waist band and sewed it on top. the fabric to the dress would have to be stretchy so it can stretch as you put it on.
