Thank you so much for all the time you put into these tutorials. As a complete beginner the encouragement I get from being able to produce something recognisable is what keeps me trying.
I love your tutorials and my painting has improved massively. One thing I'd love to understand is how you create your color palettes. When I try to create my own painting my colors leave a lot to be desired. If you haven't already, I think this would make for a great video.
thank you so much for the work you put in again and again. i tried alrdeady a few of your tutorials out and i'm getting better with every piece thanks to you. the way you explain also "the little things in between" is so helpful! big big thank you!
This was really lovely. I really enjoyed this one especially because it felt so unique. I would love to see more "exotic" stuff like this! And I really appriciate that you go above and beyond to bring us content like this!
I was looking how to do a waterfall and saw you did one, I knew I had to watch it! So glad I did! Thank you so much, I'm hoping this will help me with my waterfall in doing! Now I have to go see if you did one with a barn 😊❤
Fantastic tutorial as usual,,,,,,, the way you explain everything makes it so enjoyable and the skills you teach im finding i can apply to my line artwork. Thank you so much.
What the heck this looks Fabulous absolutely brilliant can’t wait to get painting this. Thinking this could be all time best……… personally Stunning my friend
Hi. i was just wondering if you dont use the pen tip 2 anymore? I backed them just to get a better sketching feel and wondered if they hold up over time. thanks.
This is so great! They just keep getting better and better! I’d love to see some wildlife added into the landscape-do you think that is possible in the future?
So maybe a dumb ass question, but I am pretty new to this and want to have a go at your tutorials. Should I choose a specific one to start with or could I just have a go at this one?
Good afternoon James! Thanks so much for you amazing artwork and content! I do have a question it seam when I am trying to follow along. My brush sizes look different. Your 3% looks like my 1%. Am I doing something wrong. Thanks again for your time and talent !!
They all seem off. The soft airbrush % is way different. I wasn’t sure if you changed anything in the stroke properties. And wow man. Thank you so much for the fast reply.
Hi James. Question? How do I move the mountains up? I know to use selection tool but it only grabs the outlines. I did not put the mountains high enough & only realized it when I got to the cascading water. I’ve done this before but can’t remember what or how I did it? Help!
Hello :-) I love your Tutorials and I want to say thank you for the great work. But I have a small issue... I use the hex-code colour palette numbers in the description, but the colours (top row nr.2-8) look totally different on my ipad (12"pro 2021) than the colours on your ipad in the video? The ones in the video look much more blue, on my ipad its more grey-white like. Is this just a monitor/video/youtube color-matching problem thing? Or maybe a different colour setting on the ipad display? Or are the Hex codethings in the description wrong?
The codes are correct, if you look at the pic at the beginning and end you will find it is a lot closer to reality. My camera for the rest of it oversaturates a lot of the time
@@JamesJulier-Artist Thank you for the nice response. I'm relativly new in this ipad/procreate/painting thing, so I was a little bit confused with the difference in colours from my ipad and my pc monitor :-) .
I am a new subscriber and I definitely subscribed for a reason but in this video I just noticed the sound of your pencil hitting your iPad is driving me nuts! 😂😭 I'm laughing so hard just writing this comment! 🤣 but seriously I was almost getting anxious there for a second. Ps you are probably one of the most valuable teacher I have found in regards to procreate and visual arts in general. Thank you ❤️
"Made easy"? Maybe easy to digital artistic geniuses like you. Yours looks absolutely fabulous! My attempt is a horrendous disaster! You spoke too quickly for me. I spent around 3hrs rewinding and playing and rewinding and playing and I was still missing some of what you said. You wouldn't show the color wheel long enough or your hand would block my veiw of it. I can't seem to get the color numbers into it, and I had no time to concentrate on your color wheel. You say don't zoom in too much, but you say to try and pick out the rocks, I couldn't see any on your painting or my own without zooming. My optometrist said a couple of weeks ago I didn't need stronger glasses. Your accent made 80% sound like 18% at one stage, when I looked up from my painting to see what you were setting opacity to it was so fast I missed it, so rewind yet again. My waterfalls look like they are falling almost sideways, my greenery looks like a series of lines and dots in 3 shades of green, and rocks are non existent. The cliffs are so dark, no definition, actually almost all of it looks too dark like night time, apart from the highlights and my waterfalls which look like stark bright comic sketches where the rocks are supposed to be. So yeah my attempt would look very comical if it wasnt so very horrendous. It seemed very difficult for me, I guess I must be dense. Sure I'm a beginner, but do way better with a real paint brush. Still, I did learn quite a few handy tips, so thank you for that.
@@JamesJulier-Artist thanks. I'll definately check it out. I need a function on TH-cam that can play in time lapse and slow it down a bit. There's no way I can even find the correct brushes as quick as you do. By the time I find the right brush I've missed about 10 instructions. My finger is sore from pausing it so many times today. 😄 Hopefully I improve with more practice.
There is an option to slow it down within the video play options. There is a little cog symbol for settings if you tap the screen while the video is playing. Within the settings it has a playback speed option. It’ll no doubt make me sound even stranger but it’ll slow it down anyway
Wow James, week on week (unless you have a week off lol) you give us photo realism we can all achieve in an hour or two. Superb. So appreciative.
Glad it’s appreciated 😊
Absolutely stunner of a landscape! You weave magic James. Always looking forward to your tutorials

Hi James! Can you do some landscape tutorials where you don’t need a apple pen\digital pen? If not, that’s ok 😊
Thanks for the tutorial! I was wondering what's the best ipad for beginners artists to buy?
All the new ones are great so perhaps the cheapest
Amazing

What color profiles setting are you using in procreate?
So maybe a dumb ass question, but I am pretty new to this and want to have a go at your tutorials. Should I choose a specific one to start with or could I just have a go at this one?
There are some that are a little more challenging but I try to make them all accessible so go for it

If the brush size on the correct brush, canvas size shown at the start is the same then I’ve no other ideas I’m afraid
Which brush is the problem?
