Surprisingly this one revealed a lot of new stuff even for Matsurisu. Well, Matsuri is always kind of open about everything, so she needs only the slightest nudge to reveal stuff.
Yeah I only caught the very tail end of it but I remember times chat would be like "Ask something new! There's clips of these stories already!" And luckily there were people in the chat to shut them down because, yes, some may be old news for the dedicated fanbases of the girls but for new people its brand new, plus Kiara has a bit of a knack for making the talents expand on it further than they usually do. Like even on this comment section, I'm seeing some Matsuri fans who never knew Luna and Matsuri had a fight and went radio silent on each other for a time. I even remember during one of the questions I did see (Why did you not join Nijisanji?), I already knew why she didn't but then hearing how she thought of HoloLive itself at the time and how much of a risk it was since it was not big at the time, really added to the previously known statements on why she never joined Nijisanji which could have been a far easier and more secure move than the unknown that was HoloLive at the time.

@@marocainforlife I'm not happy that I was right, but it was absolutely obvious that something happened. It's just good that they made up. I understand that some people want to avoid any negative feelings when it comes to Vtubers, but I prefer to see them as real people with flaws. Ultimately those people that got angry at me just wanted Festivaluna to be alright, so I can't really feel resentful with them.

It's kinda sad that one of the TeeTee pairs had a fight and they got distant for quite a while, But hey that's what make relationships and bonds strong when you make up with each other you become even closer. But I think the fight was a blessing in disguise for Luna because she made friends with Subaru and Choco-sensei and they really helped her become more comfortable with others beside matsuri, Luna even became too attached to Subaru And glad Matsuri and Luna are TeeTee again
I'm glad people got to learn about Matsuri beyond her usual memes, but ngl, I was also really glad to hear about this part. Not sure if Matsuri really forgot why they had a fight (people do have weird falling outs over stuff that was pretty dumb/forgettable in retrospect, after all), or if she just wasn't that comfortable opening up further about it, but either's fine. I remember when Suisei was just starting in hololive. It was Matsuri, too, who asked the other members to give her a chance. Matsuri was the first one to connect with Suisei, and I'm thankful for that.
Naruhodo, no wonder I felt like they weren't being touchy with each other for awhile. The MatsuLuna TeeTee was good but it started getting super strong until one day it stopped entirely. Nobody knew exactly why but everyone knew they had a fight. It was sad because their TeeTee was some of the best to come out of Hololive.
It hurts knowing that the distance actually happened because of a fight and not just something a few of us imagined. I still remember the tweet where Matsuri talked about Subaru seeming dependable or something similar all the way back when Luna fell off her chair playing that VR horror. It felt almost like a "passing the torch" sort of sentiment.
It makes me wonder what other things I've noticed being an actual thing or just me being insane. She said her type is hard working and in the past said one of reasons she likes Hoshikawa so much is because she respects how she speaks her mind and isn't easily influenced by others. 2.she's stated that noel, aki and nene are "gf material" to her, two of which arev sexy older sister types, and if you know coco irl then, well, you know. But, when asked if she's interested in anyone now, after saying she has an ex-gf, she was hesitant to say anything. 3. A few weeks before her graduation Matsuri traded line info with coco and coco said it reminded her of a creepy old guy "do you have line?" (After) "Do you have a pet? (Because of coco's line pfp apparently)" " do you want to go eat somewhere/do something" but I think that could just be Matsuri being awkward cause she's interested in her 4. She refuses to cross certain lines with/or date fellow members in the event that their relationship sours, but that's not a problem when Coco is no longer a member 6. Ah... after all this time I feel validated. I still remember people called me crazy or an anti for pointing out they obviously had a fight and didnt talk to each other for a while. Maybe it's because I was way too deep into Festivaluna at the time, but it was just too freaking obvious. It's not something I am happy being right about, but at least they made up and are now back on good terms. And I can even kinda pinpoint when that happened lol I am super glad to hear that they meet offline often, because they do not talk about it much at all! Festivaluna may be just friendship now, but after all Matsuri has done for Luna and after all the affection Luna gave Matsuri that's good enough for me. Ah, I'm in your same exact situation. Festivaluna was the first time I felt genuine hard emotion from two vtubers (and thanks to them I now follow many more). The fight thing was pretty obvious imo, you don't go from talking about the person all the time and wanting to call them mid-stream to not mentioning anything about them for a long period of time. Glad that it got sorted though. It might've ended up taking a different path but it's good that their connection remained strong. Out of curiosity, do you think the "promise" that started the fight was the sleepover thing (if you remember that)? I remember Luna pushing for it super hard, even getting those matching pajamas for Matsuri's birthday just for that. And Matsuri was weirdly evasive about it. I don't even remember if it ended up happening or not but that was the first thing that came to mind when I heard about a promise.
@@minus5612 Exactly, it's not the same as many other Vtubers who might just not talk about each other because they are busy. Matsuri and Luna were so deeply interwoven at the time that you could not go a day without one of them mentioning the other. Additionally Luna stopped retweeting Festivaluna fanarts at the time, which was really odd, because she retweeted everything else. They had no exchanges on Twitter either, Luna didnt even respond to Matsuri's birthday video for her for several days. Matsuri stopped telling stories about Luna altogether, which was incredibly odd for her at the time. The evidence was super obvious. Then Matsuri even talked about how Luna called her for the first time "in a long time" and apparently they talked all night and after that point they started interacting again... That was basically all the proof I needed, but I was treated quite harshly for pointing this stuff out. As for the promise, I cannot say what it was exactly. I can tell you that the sleepover didnt happen, at least not in any public way. Neither of them has ever mentioned one actually happening and to this day I am not even sure if Luna ever went to Matsuri's place even once. All offline meetings seem to be taking place away from their homes. My guess at the time was that Matsuri thought the temptation would be too great if Luna actually stayed at her place. We have to remember that Matsuri doesnt want to date someone from work, but she falls in love really easily and Luna was beyond friendship at that point without a doubt. Basically they decided to make some distance, but I cannot say if that is the reason they had a fight. For something that may be a bit too deep... Matsuri's personal account made some people suspicious at one point. She talked about how a friend "betrayed" her and how they were just thinking of themselves and a lot of people thought she was talking about Luna at the time. That was right around the radio silence between them and when Matsuri took a few days off because something bad happened in her life which she didnt quite specify. So yeah, I am not sure. The weirdest part to me was always how not a single person ever talked about it, almost like it's forbidden. Made me feel like I hallucinated their interactions. It simply got put into the "corporate ship for views" category and brushed aside. I've read the tweet you talk about, and thinking about it retrospectively, I remember the "betrayal" was phrased in a way like "they only wanted me for slefish reasons" or something along those lines, I'd have to look back at the tweets. Luna is a headstrong person who is clear about the things she wants, so it could've been that Luna was upset that she couldn't get what she wanted (be that the promise or a disagreement on the nature of their relationship), and Matsuri saw that as some sort of betrayal/ only using the other person without consideration. Although that is mostly just my dramatic interpretation of the situation. They're both pretty stubborn about certain things so the disagreement could've been anything. That being said, I'm thankful that they're on good terms again, because the positive impact they caused on eachother was immeasurable. I do worry their complicated/ambiguous relationship doesn't end up causing issues down the line (especially considering how Matsuri's feelings change on a whim). It does feel good finally being able to talk about this though. It really felt like an unspoken rule not to ever address the Festivaluna situation and just pretend it was a temporary ship in which Matsuri had always sisterzoned Luna.

I actually havent seen many people claim they were doing it for the views or just stopped their business teetee. But in the actual Matsurisu and Luknight heavy comments sections they basically shut you down super hard if you brought it up. I remember going to a Lyger clip where Matsuri talked about that phone call from Luna I mentioned and I just said that I am glad they made up.... and then I was called a conspiracy theorist who interprets too much into what's going on and that they were just busy and I should shut up. Any obvious evidence I brought up was just called delusional and rumor mongering. Basically people dont want to hear that not everything is always well. Vtubers are their escapsim, so they want to treat them as a perfect unchallenging form of entertainment. Everything is always fine, all of them are "super close friends" and they will never argue or make mistakes. Ultimately it does not actually matter why they had a fight or how they made up, the end result is what matters. I agree with that completely. But for those 2-4 months where things were completely silent and cold, I think we were all justified for worrying. Festivaluna was special and it would have been truly a shame to see them fall apart. It's a bit shocking to hear that there are any kinds of fights between Holomen, but then again, it's a perfectly common social dynamic. Sometimes it's inevitable when two ideas collides. Maybe even as we speak now, there are holomens who are currently not talking with each other due to some disagreement, but they are professional enough to not show them. Commendable

I dunno about any of the other reasons, but the birthday thing is probably not the case. These girls birthdays aren't that big of a deal, especially because that was the first year Luna would even celebrate Matsuri's birthday, so I don't think anyone would seriously get mad about her not knowing the date yet. Also... this may or may not be taboo to say, but those birthdays are character-specific. The actual birthdays of the girls behind the avatars could be different.

For the most part the sisterzoning was just a joke from the fans coz after Matsuri said "I don't wanna ruin the relationship we have" she uploaded a cover of a song where the lyrics are "my little sister I love you" (paraphrasing, it's been months) a few days/weeks later and Luna was in the MV. As for whether there were any genuine feelings there... What they were showing in their streams points to "yes", but without confirmation from either of them we'll never know for sure.

I remember when Suisei was just starting in hololive. It was Matsuri, too, who asked the other members to give her a chance. Matsuri was the first one to connect with Suisei, and I'm thankful for that.

Anyhow, I am glad that we got an answer as they're great friends. If I have to be completely honest, FestiveLuna was the first てえてえ pair I have ever watched since I've gotten hooked in Hololive from August of last year. I thought they would have gotten far like NoeFure, but I understand that Matsuri doesn't want to ruin their relationship and that she doesn't like the idea of dating her coworker.

though I do believe now that's why Matsuri now only considers luna as a sister to her now I do remember one time matsuri mentioned about not wanting to get too close to someone in hololive like she did with luna in case they got into some kind of fight and broke up not only in that way but from being friends as well? which is why she might not want to bother going back to being like she once was I guess. Though if you pay attention to Luna at all she really wants to be close to Subaru lol and I'm all for that as long as she's happy and well Matsuri is clearly happy with the friendship they currently have so. (though subaluna is what i'm all about right now personally lol)
Thanks for this clip. this validates most FestivaLuna theories about why they suddenly stopped doing collabs last year. It's sad, but I'm glad they finally made up and I hope to see more collabs in the future.

..... but everyone knew anyway. It was too abrupt. The MatsuLuna TeeTee was good but it started getting super strong until one day it stopped entirely. Nobody knew exactly why but everyone knew they had a fight. It was sad because their TeeTee was some of the best to come out of Hololive.
It hurts knowing that the distance actually happened because of a fight and not just something a few of us imagined. I still remember the tweet where Matsuri talked about Subaru seeming dependable or something similar all the way back when Luna fell off her chair playing that VR horror. It felt almost like a "passing the torch" sort of sentiment.
It makes me wonder what other things I've noticed being an actual thing or just me being insane.
Like the first interaction between her and Sara after that Gundou kiss was Matsuri showing off the prepaid visa of her (weirdest product collab) and Sara going "you didn't have to do that" and Matsuri being "ehhhh but you're the cutest(or best can't remember) in the world🥰🥰🥰" it felt very passive aggressive to me lmao

Taken from another comment I made on a different video about Kanatan mentioning Matsuri came over after Matsuri seemingly avoided saying coco on her own stream lol
1. She said her type is hard working and in the past said one of reasons she likes Hoshikawa so much is because she respects how she speaks her mind and isn't easily influenced by others.
2.she's stated that noel, aki and nene are "gf material" to her, two of which arev sexy older sister types, and if you know coco irl then, well, you know. But, when asked if she's interested in anyone now, after saying she has an ex-gf, she was hesitant to say anything.
3. A few weeks before her graduation Matsuri traded line info with coco and coco said it reminded her of a creepy old guy "do you have line?" (After) "Do you have a pet? (Because of coco's line pfp apparently)" " do you want to go eat somewhere/do something" but I think that could just be Matsuri being awkward cause she's interested in her
4. She refuses to cross certain lines with/or date fellow members in the event that their relationship sours, but that's not a problem when Coco is no longer a member
6. On the day Matsuri mentioned going to meet "someone we know who's like a Hololive member" I thought the tweets from coco's peraonal account about going to eat with friends was about her, but that was actually about aki and ppt, ppt was later asked if Matsuri came over and she said "I wonder if she's still in Coco's room"
Now, obviously this is all circumstantial evidence from random shit I've seen on her Twitter and clips over the past ~1 and a half but it's something that popped into my head none the less

Ah... after all this time I feel validated. I still remember people called me crazy or an anti for pointing out they obviously had a fight and didnt talk to each other for a while. Maybe it's because I was way too deep into Festivaluna at the time, but it was just too freaking obvious. It's not something I am happy being right about, but at least they made up and are now back on good terms. And I can even kinda pinpoint when that happened lol
I am super glad to hear that they meet offline often, because they do not talk about it much at all! Festivaluna may be just friendship now, but after all Matsuri has done for Luna and after all the affection Luna gave Matsuri that's good enough for me. Great friends who are there for each other is just as good as a lover sometimes.
Ah, I'm in your same exact situation. Festivaluna was the first time I felt genuine hard emotion from two vtubers (and thanks to them I now follow many more). The fight thing was pretty obvious imo, you don't go from talking about the person all the time and wanting to call them mid-stream to not mentioning anything about them for a long period of time.
Glad that it got sorted though. It might've ended up taking a different path but it's good that their connection remained strong.
Out of curiosity, do you think the "promise" that started the fight was the sleepover thing (if you remember that)? I remember Luna pushing for it super hard, even getting those matching pajamas for Matsuri's birthday just for that. And Matsuri was weirdly evasive about it. I don't even remember if it ended up happening or not but that was the first thing that came to mind when I heard about a promise.
@@minus5612 Exactly, it's not the same as many other Vtubers who might just not talk about each other because they are busy. Matsuri and Luna were so deeply interwoven at the time that you could not go a day without one of them mentioning the other. Additionally Luna stopped retweeting Festivaluna fanarts at the time, which was really odd, because she retweeted everything else. They had no exchanges on Twitter either, Luna didnt even respond to Matsuri's birthday video for her for several days. Matsuri stopped telling stories about Luna altogether, which was incredibly odd for her at the time. The evidence was super obvious.
Then Matsuri even talked about how Luna called her for the first time "in a long time" and apparently they talked all night and after that point they started interacting again... That was basically all the proof I needed, but I was treated quite harshly for pointing this stuff out.
As for the promise, I cannot say what it was exactly. I can tell you that the sleepover didnt happen, at least not in any public way. Neither of them has ever mentioned one actually happening and to this day I am not even sure if Luna ever went to Matsuri's place even once. All offline meetings seem to be taking place away from their homes. My guess at the time was that Matsuri thought the temptation would be too great if Luna actually stayed at her place.
We have to remember that Matsuri doesnt want to date someone from work, but she falls in love really easily and Luna was beyond friendship at that point without a doubt. Basically they decided to make some distance, but I cannot say if that is the reason they had a fight.
For something that may be a bit too deep... Matsuri's personal account made some people suspicious at one point. She talked about how a friend "betrayed" her and how they were just thinking of themselves and a lot of people thought she was talking about Luna at the time. That was right around the radio silence between them and when Matsuri took a few days off because something bad happened in her life which she didnt quite specify.
So yeah, I am not sure. On one hand it feels like Matsuri would be the obvious candidate for upsetting Luna with her non-committal relationship to her, but on the other hand there might be a chance Luna genuinly upset Matsuri. But in both cases they each tried to reconnect in their own way clearly. Matsuri by making that birthday music video and Luna by calling her.
@@yoursonisold8743 It's as exactly as you say, one day Matsuri is crying tears of joy simply because she can play video games with Luna, the next it's almost like she didn't exist. The weirdest part to me was always how not a single person ever talked about it, almost like it's forbidden. Made me feel like I hallucinated their interactions. It simply got put into the "corporate ship for views" category and brushed aside.
I've read the tweet you talk about, and thinking about it retrospectively, I remember the "betrayal" was phrased in a way like "they only wanted me for slefish reasons" or something along those lines, I'd have to look back at the tweets. Luna is a headstrong person who is clear about the things she wants, so it could've been that Luna was upset that she couldn't get what she wanted (be that the promise or a disagreement on the nature of their relationship), and Matsuri saw that as some sort of betrayal/ only using the other person without consideration. Although that is mostly just my dramatic interpretation of the situation. They're both pretty stubborn about certain things so the disagreement could've been anything.
That being said, I'm thankful that they're on good terms again, because the positive impact they caused on eachother was immeasurable. I do worry their complicated/ambiguous relationship doesn't end up causing issues down the line (especially considering how Matsuri's feelings change on a whim).
It does feel good finally being able to talk about this though. It really felt like an unspoken rule not to ever address the Festivaluna situation and just pretend it was a temporary ship in which Matsuri had always sisterzoned Luna.
@@minus5612 It's not like nobody wondered about it or worried about it (I had some long conversations with people about it in some clips). I actually havent seen many people claim they were doing it for the views or just stopped their business teetee. But in the actual Matsurisu and Luknight heavy comments sections they basically shut you down super hard if you brought it up.
I remember going to a Lyger clip where Matsuri talked about that phone call from Luna I mentioned and I just said that I am glad they made up.... and then I was called a conspiracy theorist who interprets too much into what's going on and that they were just busy and I should shut up. Any obvious evidence I brought up was just called delusional and rumor mongering.
Basically people dont want to hear that not everything is always well. Vtubers are their escapsim, so they want to treat them as a perfect unchallenging form of entertainment. Everything is always fine, all of them are "super close friends" and they will never argue or make mistakes.
Ultimately it does not actually matter why they had a fight or how they made up, the end result is what matters. I agree with that completely. But for those 2-4 months where things were completely silent and cold, I think we were all justified for worrying. Festivaluna was special and it would have been truly a shame to see them fall apart.

Well to be honest she has already said she was always going after the lonely girls during a stream, so this is not a suprise, If I remember correctly it was during an exchange with Korone which pointed out Matsuri approached her way less after she became more popular with other girls.
Matsuri being teetee with anyone mostly with luna and fubuki are the best to watch, so i was glad when luna and matsuri came back doing what they wanted to

It's a bit shocking to hear that there are any kinds of fights between Holomen, but then again, it's a perfectly common social dynamic. Sometimes it's inevitable when two ideas collides. Maybe even as we speak now, there are holomens who are currently not talking with each other due to some disagreement, but they are professional enough to not show them. Commendable

I dunno about any of the other reasons, but the birthday thing is probably not the case. These girls birthdays aren't that big of a deal, especially because that was the first year Luna would even celebrate Matsuri's birthday, so I don't think anyone would seriously get mad about her not knowing the date yet. Also... this may or may not be taboo to say, but those birthdays are character-specific. The actual birthdays of the girls behind the avatars could be different.

She seems to flipflop on that a lot. One moment says that she's friend/sisterzoned Luna, next seems awfully teetee with her. FestivaLuna is a wild ride XD
For the most part the sisterzoning was just a joke from the fans coz after Matsuri said "I don't wanna ruin the relationship we have" she uploaded a cover of a song where the lyrics are "my little sister I love you" (paraphrasing, it's been months) a few days/weeks later and Luna was in the MV.
As for whether there were any genuine feelings there... What they were showing in their streams points to "yes", but without confirmation from either of them we'll never know for sure.
