    Thank you so much. As a Canadian applying to Australian medical schools, I have found all of your videos really helpful!

    can you explain a bit more by "use it as a precedent to get more funding"? I think this is a great concept, I just wanted to get a bit of clarification.

      +bcarnes1 I guess any amount of money is a good start, but my idea was to set up a small project in one place and then go back to the government with a verified study or proof that this concept works (precedent) and then ask for more funding. The government is always looking for successful initiatives because their ideas so often fail and waste fiscal resources.
      I hope that clarifies it.

    To improve public health I would put fruit and veg on medicare. (If I had a larger budget than 10K) So it is cheaper than junkfood.

    Excellent videos mate I'm sure it will help hundreds of applicants, my advice though is to set up a better sound system for your videos by getting a professional mic for better voice quality, as I'm expecting yo do to very well at this in future. Good luck.

    Hey! Thanks for posting all this incredibly helpful information on MMI's! I was wondering if you could expand a little bit on using the money as a precedent for obtaining more money, or hiring doctors? I guess i'm a little confused as to how that would propel itself forward in the medical field and create an even greater impact than simply funding community doctors. Thanks!

      lilaznpark Hi there,I guess by showing that you have a successful model for funding rural community doctors, you can yield more funding for helping other doctors in similar situations. I hope this makes sense.

      The Medical Method Oh, so using the money in order to efficiently generate even more money for the rural doctors? So essentially creating a system or infrastructure?

    • @TheMedicalMethod
      @TheMedicalMethod  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was thinking more through presenting findings back t government to get more funding and perhaps setting up infrastructure but that's way down the line when starting with a small project. I guess there are no rules, just think bigger than what you can do "x" amount of money.
      Thanks for commenting

    For the question on the money grant, can we use it to start any kind of project? For example would it be valid if I wanted to use the money for a program of sex education? Or is it better to go along the lines of directly funding something related to health care? Thank you :)

      +Antonia Neuville That sounds perfect to me. It definitely doesn't have to be at the tertiary level of health provision. Technically a sex ed campaign is healthcare, just primary and preventative.

    Are those question gonna be asked to undergraduate medicine student too "BM"?
    for example Adelaide uni offer undergraduate medicine "6 year program" and ofc the student wont have a medical back ground! Do you have any idea what kind of question they would ask in such a case?

    • @TheMedicalMethod
      @TheMedicalMethod  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Rania Moe They ask these questions to see if you can appreciate conditions in a medical situation. Not necessarily about specific experiences you've had in medical situations.
      If you are sitting an MMI soon, I run tutoring sessions for the MMI, so let me know if that's something you'd be interested in and I'll get in touch with you.

    use tax resource to get more tax resources.....get markers approval .No wonder the health system is failing.

    • @TheMedicalMethod
      @TheMedicalMethod  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      NEWSMAN SUPER That's an oversimplification, using "tax" grants to establish a successful precedent for further funding is economically sound and efficient.

    • @newsmansuper2925

      The Medical Method
      no its not an over simplification, tax is "inefficient" to start with. A thrid party (gov) relocating wealth, without any market dicipline to their reallocation (propped up by yet more tax) lacks both the market dicipline and the information available to the actors who are taxed, and would rather spend that money in a different way.

      NEWSMAN SUPER I'm sure the examiners will enjoy your diatribe regarding modern taxation systems, best of luck.

      yes...that's the thing, they don't really care they just want what passes for the current normative formula, to get money to self under the guise of taxation = money for profession of health. Anyway I was already admitted into medicine years ago at Usyd...so there's that...and...
      Adam Smith's: "People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices."
      = now by redirecting tax for us.
      Bernard Shaw
      Conspiracies against the laity is a term coined by George Bernard Shaw in his 1906 play The Doctor's Dilemma. The conspiracies refer to the methods used by professions to acquire prestige, power and wealth.

      NEWSMAN SUPER Congratulations on getting into Medicine ! I never suggested taxation is infallible, merely a strategic purview.All the best, perhaps if we do meet as colleagues in the future lets hope the conversation ends in merriment and diversion, nothing more.
