    Tipping is not expected in Europe. I feel like no one should corrupt the system. It is out of control in US and it makes lot of people uncomfortable .

    We are currently in Italy and have been discussing how to tip, thanks so much for answering our questions. You two have been our experts in planning our trip these past few months, grazie!

    Should I tip in Italy? No.
    How much should I tip in Italy? No.
    Should I tip in high end restaurants in Italy? No.
    Should I tip in bars? No.,
    Should I tip the taxi? Don't take taxi in Italy 😂.
    Should I tip at gas station? What are you crazy? Put the gasoline on you own...
    I'm italian and I never tipped in my life. And if coperto is more than 1-2 euros run away, that's a stupid place for tourist. And if a pizzeria got a coperto run away, you will not get bread in a pizzeria, no reason to pay coperto. And I know it's a little bit on the edge right now since inflation sucks right now, but first course in any restaurant should be max 10€, 12-15€ if it's a really really fancy item like fresh pasta with tartufo fresco. Do not pay 10€ for a basic pasta al pomodoro.
    And for the second course stay under 15€.
    Great restaurants with amazing food that are not made just for tourists will usually make a first course for about 5-7€ and a second course for 10€.
    Pay attention to the drink price too... basic water should not cost more than 2€ for 75 cl.

    You shouldn’t tip in Italy. Believe me the Italians do not tip. You don’t tip taxis either or bartenders. You shouldn’t be advising you should tip because it’s not customary except for Americans. Believe me I know after living with locals for 35 years,

    Hello guy's. Another great video. first, Rick, love the red glasses. When we are in Italy, we use the same tipping methods. We have a few favorite restaurants and usually tip a little more. That's because the waiter knows us and what we like. Sometimes there is no wait. As far as taxi's, we round up. Hotel bellman, usually 1 euro per bag. They are very appreciated. We will be back in Florence in May and then again August thru September. Hope to see more videos.

    Excellent, thank you! What about for private transfers? We are taking a transfer from Malpensa to our lodging in Milan then we will be taking a much longer private transfer from Milan to Lake Como. Just 2 of us and carry on suitcases only. Should we tip the drivers?

    • @TravelAddictsLife
      @TravelAddictsLife  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Usually it is not necessary, if you feel that the driver was really good you can leave him a 10€ but it is not mandatory

    From South Africa and planning to travel to Italy (plus one day in Geneva and 2 days in Paris ;-) with my wife and kids in July ... My entire Italian itinarary is based on your videos. Your content is absolutely excellent, no time wasted, to the point, informative, well thought out and structured ... basically everything a first-time traveller to Italy should know. Can you please perhaps consider a video on how Trenitalia reservations work and then cover the Eurail pass vs point-to point train tickets? Im a little bit in the dark, and a little anxious to be honest, where train reservations are concerned ... how to do them ... when to do them ... what happens if I cannot get a reservation on a train and miss a day or time in my next city ... Thank you and keep up the brilliant videos and content.

    We are currently traveling in Italy and the restaurants are not adding service fee on the bill and at the bottom of the credit card receipt states "tip not included". Do I need to tip, if so, what percentage should it be? Thank you. Michael

    • @TravelAddictsLife
      @TravelAddictsLife  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No you do not need to tip, service should always be included

      No tip is necessary since tipping by Italians is not customary. It’s not about good or bad service, it just not customary

    In my opinion tipping is an unpleasant and boring habit. there is already a salary for working people. It's more correct to Improve it and increase product prices to offset the losses. Please dear foregin tourist, don't give tips in our country (Italy) we don't need such bad habit to spread out of control like in US
