      You really summed up Johnny skip in 30 minutes …..
      I thought the kid was to flamboyant with little history the loudest can make a whole lot of noise , but he had the tangibles to make it in the NFL after watching football for 25 years before him I seen a lot of qbs that were just there to lose a game / fill a spot he was the guy who loved the gifts of being Super star / Gun slinging QB they built a dam stadium with his fandom contributions of what the team could be with him !!!
      But we are all missing the big picture here what does this say about the other QBs in the NFL a guy who did not look at film , study or practice much !!!!
      No wide out showed up to catch his passing on pro day that says everything there !!!! The movie draft day no1 went to dudes birthday party because no1 liked dudes character!!!!!! Dude did not make it !

    Johnny Manziel is a perfect example of the old saying "all that glitters is not gold." He may have built a stadium but he didn't deliver any Championships. As a matter of fact after his Alabama win Texas A&M still has 0 Championships. If I recall correctly Alabama went on to win 3 more National Championships.

    • @Utahtruckguy

      Texas A&M is never mentioned without Johnny… I disagree he was gold… not even highly recruited with low expectations

    • @OscarUnrated
      @OscarUnrated ปีที่แล้ว +3

      He didn’t win a championship because it was Texas A&M. They were a 7-6 unranked team in the Big 12 the season before he started and top 10 team after.
      Tannehill was their starting QB the year before and was drafted #8 overall, Manziel won 4 more games than him in a much tougher conference. If he played on Notre Dame that season he would’ve won a national championship instead of Alabama

    Skip's dismissal of the evident warning signs in Johnny Manziel's substance abuse insults our intelligence and highlights the racial bias pervasive in sports and its media. Just years earlier, the media tarnished Cam Newton's reputation over minor incidents, while Johnny escaped with minor consequences for autograph-related issues.
    Even with proof of Johnny's misconduct, media fueled his draft value. This pattern, like Ndamukong Suh's draft placement, stems from a desire for a marketable white athlete. Skip, fueled by this bias, as well continued promoting Johnny despite knowing about his drug use, exemplifying racism in sports media. This was glaringly apparent even to non-professionals like me.

    I’ll be honest, people say he would’ve been a bust anyway. I don’t really know to be honest with you. I think he was a bust because he didn’t really care. If he had put in the work and I actually wanted to be an NFL quarterback, maybe he could’ve Been a starting caliber. Honestly, maybe if Dallas had taken him, and he sat behind a veteran like Tony Romo, his career might’ve gone differently. I don’t know just speculating.

    It was all too much too soon. What he probably needed was more time to adjust to being a pro. Maybe they should have put less pressure on him so early on.

    Why can’t Skip just admit he was wrong ? He was wrong about Manziel as a pro, Baker, Tebow and he just can’t admit it. You’re not going to get by playing back yard football in the NFL. The WORST pro defense is way better than the very BEST college defense.
