i have a huge weakspot for specifically this era of graphics. i also grew up with ps1 graphics and they are pretty nostalgic too, but there is something about graphics from around ps2 era and the atmosphere that makes me even more nostalgic. one of the reasons why i got into gamemaking recently. i fucking love this channel!
The dialogue and voice acting are classic Silent Hill quality.
As a long term silent hill fan I am so impressed! They remake nearly all the memorable place in silent hill 1-4 with such accuracy and style!! It actually gave me a feeling this is like inside silent hill!
Used to play this a lot a few years ago.
The one thing i hated about the game was the fixed fire rate and reload time,
No matter how fast I press the trigger, shooting's still slow as hell
Now I have two good things: A walkthrough of Silent Hill: The Arcade and its existence in one of my favorite horror game walkthrough channel. :)
I really, REALLY like the "post-credit" where Pyramid Head just slowly turns around and then vanishes. As though his role has already been served and he doesn't need to exist anymore.

Man, even though I'm in college now, the music still creeps me out and the monsters give me the chills. I used to play this during my elementary days or watch strangers play it in our local arcade place, it was the best since it was just horror galore compares to the usual npc enemies and zombies. Thank you so much, this brought back so much memories :)

This game was notable for showcasing one of the rare GOOD Silent Hill manifested monsters. Tubercolosis (the dragon boss) isn’t attacking Emilie but actually protecting her from other monsters. He brought her to the roof cos it was the safest place and easiest place for it to protect her.
It’s possible that Tuberculosis’’ behavior is based on Emilie’s father Frank, who in another rare moment for SH, ISN’T an abusive sack of shit but actually very caring and responsible! So TB basically fulfils what Frank’s role does in Emilie’s mind, which is to protect her from monsters.
I forgot all about this and the slot machine one. Love these
That end credits scene really screams "fuck the symbolism of Silent Hill 2, here's something for y'all's thirst for Pyramid Head".

I love Theme of Laura, but I feel like the music used for the beginning of the first silent hill would of been better for the short opening of this game.
