Hey much much love and respect to this man infact every body if you love reggae and dance hall music supposed to salute the manyaa the king father jamys your acceptance continued to live with my soul.
Sleng Teng was the game changer. I remember some of the criticism leveled at Jammy$ at the time after the riddim went clear. Listen, if it wasn't Jammy$ bringing in the digital sound, it would have been King Tubby or George Phang or Harry 'J' Johnson or any of the producers at the time. Apparantly, Tubby and Anthony Redrose had 'Tempo', another computer classic, locked BEFORE Sleng Teng came out but held back the release to see how Wayne Smith's tune would fare in the dances. It blew skyward, dominated the dances in 1985 became the most versioned and top riddim of that year and changed reggae music forever. The biggest breakthrough since reggae itself was formed in 1968.
What happened to Wayne after the smashing hit...Video footage shows him doing a stage show around 2012 then nothing...RIP Wayne...You should have a big statue somewhere for that song...
Basically jack Scorpio riddim was mostly intruments very little digital and prince jammy was mostly digital less instruments from 1985 and beyond facts noel Dave’s created the sleng teng riddim amongst other casio digitized tracks
