    Defending the Gallon per minute haha. When I purchased my new sprayer, I used gallon per minute to estimate how long it would take to empty the 4 gallon tank(~7minutes constant spray at 40psi). This helped me get an idea of how fast i needed to walk and how many gallons of water I needed to get a uniform coverage. Then I used the jug and mixed the appropriate amount of product. Thank you for making these videos, can’t wait to get things started here in MD.

    Hey Pete, great video and thanks for sharing!
    Just to add to the video, an easy way to find your yards square footage is to go onto google earth. You can simply “trace” your property's border around curves, corners etc, and it will calculate your square footage. Very handy tool.

    Pete, love the videos. hoping you can help me understand the liquid fertilizer and fear of burning lawns. I see and understand you calibrations but I see some liquid fertilizer requiring 3 gals per 1000 sf application rate to avoid burning (Coron 18-3-6 for example.) The green punch seems to be not so important. Is that correct? How would someone go about putting down that heavy of an application rate? I just can’t wrap my head around that kind of an application.

    Pete, if you put down prodiamine when the soil temp is say 48-50 degrees, would it be any problem. I've got this thing called life, as you say, (more like a vacation) that I'm going on for two weeks and it's very much in the window of pre emergent. I'm hoping for some warmer weather, and we're definitely getting there where I'm at, but not sure if it'll hit the magic number before I head off. God bless and keep at it. I'm a big fan.

After the snow storm the soil temps dropped into the low 40's will that have an effect on the preemergent? I know I have missed a lot but what happened to hybrix

    • @ScottHammet
      @ScottHammet 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nothing wrong with HyrBrix. If you can find it local to you, you can use it instead of Protene (Pete has mentioned this in at least one post in the Facebook group). But a lot of folks can't find it locally, and it's expensive to ship. I believe Pete chose Protene for its slow release characteristics, so it feeds for a longer duration--ends up being relatively cost effective when you factor in coverage rate and duration of release. That and Protene claims a more homogenous mix of the ingredients in each prill, so a more even application. HyrBrix remains a viable (and excellent) choice, but Protene is what Pete will carry.

    Prodiamine label says to put down 1 gallon of water per 1k for best results. If you are running 4 gallons across 7500, that is only .53 gallons of water per 1k. I mean, you know what you are doing obviously, but I wonder why the Prodiamine label wants you to put a gallon of water per 1k down along with the Prodiamine? Matter of fact, the Certainty I just used wanted 2 gallons of water per 1k for some reason.
