- Ghee rice is packed with awesome flavours of clarified butter. Typically mentioned as Nei Choru or Nei Sadam, which literally translated to ghee rice or Ghee pulao. In Tamil, Ghee is called Nei, choru or sadam is refereed to rice. It is an excellent accomplishment with Nihari, Paya, mutton curry, chicken Kurma, Salan and raita. It is a very popular dish in southern Tamil Nadu and served in various functions. Using Jeera Samba rice and home made clarified butter (ghee) in this recipe, makes it even more tastier and tempting 😀
Ingredients
Seeraga Samba Rice - 2 cups
Onion - 1 1/2 No
Ghee - 3 Tbsp
Cardamom - 4
Cloves - 6
Cinnamon - 3
Bay leaves - 2
Green Chillies - 4 no’s
Soaked Cashews - 10 to 12 No’s
Mint & Coriander - 1 2 sprigs
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 1/4 Tbsp
Tomato - 1
Salt - To Taste

Simple gravy. Fry soya chunks. Keep aside. Now, pudina, onion ginger, garlic, turmeric, chilli powder, cardamom, clove , salt ...grinde n put this paste In the vessel and fry it n finally add fried soya chunks n boil it n have it hot hot with ghee rice or even with IDLI, dosa, phulka, rice etc.
Along with soya chunks , you can add boiled potatoes too or overnight soaked soya beans (boiled) too. If you have coconut or soaked kasakasa then grind it with other masala n make the gravy creamy. 😊 you can name it Soya Kurma...Soya is rich in protein. 👌

Nice recipe.. a small suggestion... by adding fully peeled garlic while frying onions along with ginger paste will give super taste for this dish

Veg pulav does not have heavy masala. But BIRYANI has.

@@bhavna12r Simple ...soak basmathi rice the water should be above the rice sufficiently n now cut carrots, beans, peas, beetroot, (potatoes if u want) soaked double beans etc. Now, crush ginger, garlic, then cut onions, tomatoes, sliced green chiles or whole . Now, keep the Cooker n put required ghee plus cooking oil n put all spice like cardamom, clove, bay leaf , sombu n fry slightly now put lots of onions fry it to have small to reach ur nose now put green chillies, crushed ginger, garlic stir it up n now put tomatoes ( seeds removed) n stir n then if u want put some curd , now little bit turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt n pour the water n soaked basmati ..no need to add extra water.. n then chopped coriander , pudina mix it all n have two whistles n put the stove off n after 10 minutes u can open it n put further more ghee n stir n u can keep ur plates of biryani on the dining table n now have it with curd onion / cucumber raitha/pacchadi...I make it like this ..if u want so Richie rich u can add roasted cashew, badaam, pista , pumpkin seeds to decorate it etc ....have it hot hot.....this is my way...some pour on it soaked saffron milk too.😊

@@bhavna12r It is my own biryani.. you can Google Afghani, Lucknowi, Hydrabadi, Vaaniyambaadi, Awadh , Rawuthar,Asif, Anjappar Chettinaad , Mughal biryani as well...I only make veg biryani. 😊
