imo I think they should not allow the push/stomp kick specifically to the knee. traditional wheel kicks fine but the stomp nah ... thats what you do to defend yourself in the street. takes no skill and these fighters are already at enough risk for [serious] injury.
What about knee bars , ankle locks ,arm bar's , an let's not forget people getting slammed on their head and neck. They injury more people a day in gym than knee stomping does a year in fight's!😂
@@grayrecluse7496 Im not down with slams either. joint locks are fine and lets be real most of the injuries that happen (during a comp fight) is that the fighter is too prideful to tap. I not talking about simply what people do in their gyms thats on them.
It's a tuff job. Some people are tuff an most are not. It's a fight ,not a pillow fighting.

@@ZIGSVIDS No, it's a fight with a few rules. Those rules are for you "weak people",not the fighters! The hand wraps, gloves an mouth piece are for the fighters!!!! Why do fighters cheat? It's a real fight with rules. Street fights have some rules, think about it.

@@ZIGSVIDS the fighter applying an arm bar obiously is trying to break the arm, thats the main objective of arm bar(to break the arm). Submitting depends on the opponent.

yah Im not down with knees on grounded opponents either. I want to see a fight leaning towards more skill than raw brutality. If I want a street fight I'll go hang out in the city in the evenings 😉

I do understand that it's a CAREER ENDING if that stomp injured wakamatsu's KNEE,
but come on you don't need to criticized someone just because he USED that.

I think all "stomping" kicks should be banned. Admittedly, you don't see it alot... Everyone knows that it's a pretty nasty attack....like head tackles in U.S. football or "professional" fouls in the other football... (stud raking down the leg). A contender on a losing slide could be tempted when desperation sets in a little.. but there is a big risk of immediate and long term injury. This is a sporting version of fighting, not a street brawl, I wouldn't want it to become a "normal" thing to have to be hospitalised after every contest. I can't really put my finger on it exactly...but, it just seems like a dirty tactic, a lttle shameful. That's not what this sport is about. It's a discipline of recognised skill and tactics. but, above all , respect, dignity and sportsmanship.
like arm bar and grouded knee isn't as dangerous as this kick. i guess it should be ban as well. and make the sport soft.

It is a dangerous kick because it can hyperextend the knee, but it is legal and always will be, it has been a 'controversial' kick since the 80's. ONE is just using it as a clickbait.

Either of those can take you out of the sport forever... The comparison is pointless. Deemed unfit to fight for historic damage will be written and signed on the same form.
