    By far the finest Scene in the FIlm is this one! I never get tired of watching her Spin around as a little Girl, calling out her Name and the Transformation from the little Girl to Daryl Hanna is well done. Paul

    A truly underrated film in spite of its diverting from the novel. Definitely better than most prehistory films including 1 Million Years BC.

      If they ever did a sequel back in the day, Michael Beck from "The Warriors" would've been perfect for Jondalar IMO.

    I love this book because I am a 20th century Ayla then without any knowledge of how much I love this book my niece named her daughter Ayla.

    just finished reading the 7th book, and 1-6, in the Earth's Children series. Somehow, my life intervened before so I entirely missed it (now 6/23) :-) Honestly, the 2nd book was the BEST !!!! And, forgive me for writing, but...the whole series could have used MAJOR editing. Soooo...much wasted ink and pages, for backtracking and needless "travelogue" descriptions. If Mrs. Auel had kept closer to the plot, she might have ended the series in a more satisfying way. As it is, the story just...fades...away.... Pity!!!

    Ayla was ahead of her time. A precursor to women screaming out their own name during sex.

    Very strong feminist agenda pushed in these books

    • @nipenthii
      @nipenthii ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i don't see why this is a problem, or even "inaccurate" to depict Ayla as a huntress-gatherer. There is strong evidence that more than 40% of unearthed hunter graves belonged to females. Women hunted too

      Show me on the doll where Jean M Auel hurt you 🤣 One thing that everyone agrees on about the books is that they were flawlessly researched. Both men and women contributed to cro-magnon society according to individual talents, not gender roles, because it simply made better survival sense that way. If you can't handle a historically accurate depiction, that's your problem. Grow up.

      @@jenkzkh I've actually read the books about four times the whole series I didn't know what the movie was that it was being referred to until I read one of the other comments when I was like oh I've already read that but I wanted to watch the movie they need to do the whole series

    • @jenkzkh
      @jenkzkh 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@floridagator388 I totally agree. I think maybe a remake of the first movie closer to the book could be better. 🤷 But, they also might ruin it too. (I wouldn't be surprised). I do know Ms. Auel was mad at the movie. That's why they didn't make any more movies.

    She's the absolutely wrong actress for the role.
    Ayla is described as a high cheeked, broad faced, wide eyed slavic beauty.
