อนุสาวรีย์พระนางจามเทวี ตั้งอยู่ในเขตเทศบาลเมืองลำพูน ตำบลในเมือง บริเวณด้านหลังตลาดหนองดอก ห่างจากศาลากลางจังหวัดลำพูนประมาณ 1 กิโลเมตร สร้างขึ้นเพื่อเป็นอนุสรณ์แด่พระนางจามเทวี ซึ่งเป็นองค์ปฐมกษัตริย์แห่งนครหริภุญไชย พระนางทรงเป็นปราชญ์ที่มีคุณธรรม เป็นนักรบที่มีความสามารถและกล้าหาญชาญชัย พระนางคือผู้นำพระพุทธศาสนาและศิลปวัฒนธรรมมาเผยแผ่ในดินแดนแถบนี้จนรุ่งเรื่องสืบมาจนถึงปัจจุบัน พระนางเป็นปราชญ์ที่มีคุณธรรม ความสามารถและกล้าหาญ ได้นำพุทธศาสนาศิลปวัฒนธรรมมาเผยแพร่ในดินแดนแถบนี้จนมีความรุ่งเรืองสืบมาจนถึงปัจจุบัน สมเด็จพระบรมโอรสาธิราชสยามกุฏราชกุมาร ได้เสด็จมาทรงเปิดอนุสาวรีย์เมื่อวันที่ 2 ตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2525

ฝรั่งไม่ชอบสิ่งนี้เพราะเขาถือว่าเป็นการทรมารสัตว์ เราว่าอย่าให้ช้างทำท่าผิดธรรมชาติของช้างมากเกินไปเพราะเขาอาจจะเจ็บภายหลังก็ได้เช่นเดินสองขา ถ้าโชว์ท่าเต้นแค่นี้ก็น่ารักแล้ว

คนสนุกแต่ช้างทรมาน ลองตรองดูเถิด เวรกรรม
ผมไม่ยอมให้มีการทรมาณช้างหรอกนะ มีการดูแลอย่างดี เขาเป็นเหมือนลูกหลานของผม คนและช้างเหนื่อยพอๆกัน
หน้าที่คือหน้าที่ ก่อนและหลังการใช้งานเราดูแลให้ความสุขกันเต็มที่ ถ้าไม่เข้าใจลองมาดูการเบี้ยงก่อนค่อยวิจารณ์
แต่ละเชือกราคาหลายล้านบาท แต่เราไม่เคยตีราคาไม่เคยขาย คงจะขายถ้ามีการดูแคลนคนเลี้ยงช้างมากเกินไป

Why isn't our govt.banning use of animals for entertainment ,temple festivals etc.....a law must be passed to eradicate use of animals for these purposes also for transport.......the pain,trauma these voiceless creatures endure day in & day out is heart wrenching.........can the govt. please make arrangement for alternative ways of making a living for people using animals for monetary benefits.......May God bless us all.........

Animal cruelty... These are giant beast. Tame them, take work from them in logging woods and feed them. But what kind of fun if you forcing 1 ton giant to do circus tricks.... Show empathy and Mercy !!! There is someone above everyone of us , humans and animals and will ask us what we did to such poor creatures !!!
Doc Muzammil it hurts seeing that people are so ignorant about the scenes behind these animal circus acts ! They find this amusing and go on to pay for the entertainment! Every now and then the elephants turn left right scared of the bull hooks! I have been going on different posts telling people what they go through on a daily basis while they should be in the nature ! The response I get is a lot of hate ! I don’t care still and I ll do what it takes to stop this
