I fell away for 7-8 years and within the last two weeks Jesus pulled me back in. I’m so thankful 🥲 and just purchased this Bible after ordering two others that didn’t quite do it for me (sent back). I came here to find out if Jesus’ words were in red and I see they are; I’m excited to get this!!

I was actually at Barnes and Noble looking for a new ESV and this one kept screaming at me. Had to be the Spirit taking to me, because I picked it up looked at it and set it back down “Not what I’m here for”, it called me again, I opened it, really took a good close look and thought “Wow, well done, I’ve never seen one quite like this. Really in interesting way to put the scripture into your heart.” I’ve done KJV, but more of an NASB95 guy, really didn’t want KJV (the Sword KJVER is another amazing study bible). No matter how I tried it pulled me back in. It’s now at home with me. I’m pretty excited about it.

I have wanted this Bible ever since I heard about it, I just ordered mine. Now that I have an understanding of the Bible and want to dig in and finally read through the entire Bible for the first time ("baby" Christian in 2020). I strongly feel that the Abide system will help me do that. Thank you for this video.
I just bought this one after seeing it at a outlet, I had never seen it before and they only had one. I couldn't stop thinking about it and went back for it twice before I finally allowed myself to treat myself lol. I was wondering if you have spent any time in yours since you mentioned it? I'm trying to decide how I want to utilize it in my studies and not sure how to want to organize or what plan to follow so I was just curious if you had a certain system you follow.
I have this one, and it is quickly becoming one of my favorites! I love how it helps me to slow down and meditate on what I am reading. Thomas Nelson makes some great Bibles!

Great Bible and you did a wonderful job on the Review of it. I have the NET Translation. I've also purchased the Journals. I'll have to spend more time reading and studying in this Bible. I have so many other engaging Bibles that I have to specifically decide to focus on this one for a period of time.

Great video as always, brother! This is a really nice looking bible.
It reminds me of the NKJV Ancient Modern bible in its design choices. But this is much more interactive & engaging with the 'abide' system. Might just have to put this one on the 'ole wishlist :)

Have you done a bid that discusses different types of bibles? Like you mentioned how it’s not study type with cross references but more devotional. Are their more categories of what types of bibles one can have?

I am not seen the hardcover edition in person, but I think they will both hold up very well.
I need a better way to study than just read and highlight, then journal. It doesn’t really stick like I want it to. And I think this bible would solve that.

I watched this review a few months ago, had forgotten I watched it, and now watching it again, I realize that this was so helpful for me in previewing this Bible. I had bought the NKJV Abide for myself and now I’m getting the NET Abide for my beginner reader for his first personal Bible. I think he’s too young for a heavy notes study Bible, but I think these type of prompts will work well for him over his elementary years. too many study notes might be overwhelming before he gets to a more analytical age. I’m not as familiar with the NET translation, but it seems to be good option for a lower reading level, which is part of what I’m looking for at this stage for him.
Do you think this Bible and the NET translation would work well for a beginner reader / elementary student? Our church had the 1st grader Bible gifting last week, but I hate the cartoons added to so many kid Bibles, so we’re not actually going to give him that one. I prefer art he can grow into, rather than art that may hinder or offend the children and be grown out of.
I like NLT and NIV for kids/teens, but I think NET is nice as well… and probably a bit easier for a young person to grasp than NKJV.

Hi Tim Thank you for your blog and videos. I have a question 😀 In the video I heard you say it goes with the Abide system (7:25) does it work if I don’t have those journals and just this Bible? If I buy the journals later or one by one will I find the same extra material in them as the Bible? 🙏🏻
You don’t need the journals to use this Bible effectively, but they do give more space to write things down.
I got this in the NET translation. While I like the NKJV very much I went with the NET as I appreciate it too and it was a black letter text. Disappointed though to see they omitted the lined pages in the back. Some of my Allan Bibles have this lined paper and I love to have it in a Bible. NET shortchanged again?? 🥲😥

I have an idea for you that I put into practice. I purchased a pair of reading glasses at 1.5 magnification at Walmart. The glasses have made a huge difference for me with reading these bibles. I wanted so bad to get a larger print Open Bible, but there are none and that bible has been out for many years. Aside from using my phone or table and making the font bigger - the screens tire my eyes out. By using magnified reading glasses, I don't have to buy a heavier bible :-)

I just got a copy of the NET version of this Bible, and I like it a lot. I think the NET translation has a lot of positives, but the NKJV is certainly a classic.

How sad that the faith of many is insufficient without having a Nelson Bible to tell them when to pray, how to pray.
Or... from another perspective... how cool is it that there's a Bible like this to help people deepen their prayer life.
