Did the Fung Bros. just ignored the Asians in the Mid West? I grew up in Minneapolis, have lived in both the East Coast and West Coast. Decided to move back to MN because it's so much cheaper to live here than any of those areas.
@@ElizabethChee-rj7bn Yup. It's obvious the Fung Bros. never been to either the Mid West or the South and they decided to ignore us Asians in those areas.
In the Bay Area, the old school Chinese enclave is San Francisco proper. The somewhat newer ones include Fremont, Cupertino, Milpitas, Millbrae, etc. The really new ones are Dublin, Pleasanton, San Ramon, etc.
Just got back from NYC after about a week and I kind of get what David was saying about Asian/Asian vs Asian American on the West Coast. It did somewhat feel that way. I'm a Bay Area native currently living in SF and outside of Chinatown it does seem like people here are more assimilated into the American lifestyle. Also, if you like the sun and better weather it's the West Coast all the way and it's not even remotely close. My family moved from Chicago because they couldn't stand the cold.
TX and CA asians are very similar because most once lived in CA and got the hell out of there. Moved to TX because of work, home prices and the cost of living. My friend lived in PV, cashed out and moved. The weather sucks in TX, but you can't have everything. Why did you two move from the SGV to NYC? I know Manhattan very well. And they are totally different places.
if you're a straight guy thinking of moving to california (especially SF and surrounding areas), then don't! there are way too many men here. not enough women
You can't beat the ladies from Monterey Park, San Gabriel, San Marcos (super spoiled), Alhambra, Hacienda Heights, Rowland Heights, West Covina, Walnut, Cerritos, Buena Park, Fullerton, Irvine & Westminster/Garden Grove.
You just listed locarions where some of the trashiest asian women on the planet live. Just go to any Asian country and they're hotter, less ran through, and better behaved. Prob make more money too, or at least will once they start making money in America as they're better educated and more ambitious too.
Their are big differences in terms of mindset and "culture" between West and East Coast for all races and ethnicities, in general! I have lived in both and the differences are obvious! The way you talk, act, think, dress, do things, etc, are just different!
I’m a West Coast Asian who mostly grew up in Southcentral Alaska and I know mostly Alaska and Washington. Religion plays a big part of what neighborhoods Asians live in . In Seattle for example, most Palestinians, Lebanese and Syrians in Belltown and North Queen Anne are Sunni Muslims. In Lake City, Cedar Park , and Olympic Foothills, most Palestinians, Lebanese and Syrians are Melkite Catholics. Also on the West Coast, most Iraqis in San José are Chaldean and Assyrian Catholics and most Iraqis in Seattle, Kent , Everett and Snohomidh , Washington are Shi’a Muslims. In Anchorage, Midtown is mostly Desi, Spenard is mostly Malaysian and Filipino , Downtown and Government Hill have large Palestinian and Lebanese communities and Fairview and Mountainview have Hmong and Lao communities and Rogers Park has a huge Korean community. Sand Lake and Bayshore have huge Filipino communities. As a West Coaster, I like the West Coast lifestyle of weightlifting, soccer ⚽️, and nutrition . I think it’s more compatible with Sunni Islam and with Asian especially Semitic West Asian culture . San Francisco has the best Yemeni food. Seattle has the best Lebanese food and Al Quds Restaurant in Salem, Oregon has the best Palestinian food in the USA.
in Canada. west coast and east coast. aka. Vancouver and Toronto. is very Hong Kong. in recent years it is more Taiwan and mainland China. still most speak Cantonese aka yue Chinese. old school was Tai shan. now more speak common language aka manderin
I visited the West Coast a couple of times to see if I would like it. I interviewed for a couple of jobs with in the LA commuting area. I ended up getting a gig that kept me overseas for over a decade. If things turned out different, I would have taken the leap to West Coast living. I liked what I had seen in So. Cal culture. (I'm from NJ btw).
Having lived in both coasts, East Coast are not as friendly and ego driven to where they think they are better than everyone and they tend to get offended by things so easily as they’re not as open minded. They will only hang out with people of high status (high paying jobs, graduated from good schools, etc..). All about status and elitism. West coast seem more laid back, open minded, and easier to talk to. They don’t judge you and don’t seem to put emphasis on money and education as much as their East coast counterparts.
You've never lived on the West Coast (specifically California). The folks on the West Coast are shockingly fake, especially in spaces like SoCal and Seattle.
I respect every aspect of Asians, however, it really depends on where people are raised and come from. Keep in mind, lots of Asians move to other states like NC because of career and lower cost of living opportunities. But if you’re thinking about mainstream Asians, there’s no comparison. It’s different as it’s own ways and that’s why it’s unique. It’s a great way to show everyone love and culture.
Asians live in Big Cities of NC. I'm one of the very few Asians in a rural SC town. It's me, Chinese family who runs the Hood Chinese place and Indians who run the liquor store, gas station, and Dentist office.
West coast is best! In my experience, the Asians on the west coast are a lot more friendly and open-minded. Add to that, a lot of Asians on the west coast date other races. When I stayed in NYC for some time, I noticed that the Asians there are usually older, more conservative and xenophobic. I experienced more racism in NYC in 3 months than I ever did in California my whole life. When it comes to interracial relationships, east coast Asians mainly date white people. Basically, east coast Asians like to keep to themselves or go for something that will give them status. To be fair, the east coast is a lot more of a dog-eat-dog kind of environment. Anyways, this was my experience.
As an Asians from the Midwest, most of us don’t even know what the term abg means. Social media is definitely influencing the females to model it now tho!

New Yorker here, my best friend lived in Cali for a while. They had a nice place on Newport beach. Gated community, the white people there were way too racist. They sold the place. She also said food is very cheap on the West coast, and that people have money, but they are extremely cheap. Also very open on their racism.
All,states that have asians are different. Texas asians are different from California asians. US vets helped south korea during the korean war. Every family culture is different because it's what you learned in the US. Every asian americans are different. Do you know that China is the one that convinced north Korea to be communist. NY asian americans more traditional than California asian americans.
Ok this topic just seems destructive plus people do move around so. You could have two different asian families from the same country living in two different sides of The united states. That's not a good demographic sample for the particular age and country that both families come from originally. Okay maybe I made it too deep but it sounds like a very destructive topic
East Coast (at least NYC, cant speak for Boston as i didnt notice very many Asians there) has higher quality Asian women in terms of overall quality (less tats, less wearing tons of make up and being party animals, better edicated and more likely to come from money, etc.) than west coast, the ONLY thing i give west xoast credit for is less Lu's. West coast asians seem more ride or die for Asian men while east coast tend to still somewhat feticize white guys a bit more.
Unless you've experienced what it's like to tread through three feet of snow in subzero temperatures with your face going numb, you'll never know what the struggle feels like. Californians will never be able to relate.
East coast def has the better Chinese food and Boba. I was a little disappointed when I went to Cali. Although, West has the better weather. NYC was raining all summer this year and worrying about floodings.
Always the minority group of asian are always left out when it come to this talk its mainly Chinese Korean Japanese what about the other asian group. I moved from east coast to midwest and I think there's probably more asian culture in Chicago but it's severely lacking in places like St. Louis
Chicago got a vibrant community
There's a good amount in the Twin Cities too.
