Great unboxing! Been looking to get hold of this film for a while. I missed out on a great region 1 boxset which included the '33 Kong, Son of Kong and Mighty Joe Young. Might go for the blu-rays instead. Congrats on 3K subs by the way :) Well deserved!

One i always enjoyed watching as a kid on BBC2 with my dad & brother, & "Mighty Joe Young" was a black & white" fav with the original "King Kong" movie, & these movies in black & white add more of a charm to the movies.

Never seen the original of this Benn only the Bill Paxton remake, great unboxing mate.
Well I am the opposite, have only seen the original, not the remake, lol, is the remake any good? def give this version a watch, one of the best stop motion animals for sure, and that being from 1949! Thanks for watching, hope you are well.

Great blu ray Benn! Love this movie. So much character in this ape thanks to Mr. Harryhausen and his amazing talent. I saw the remake and it was pretty good especially the effects. But of course there's nothing like the original!

Hey mate, watched it last night, loved it, very reminiscent of the 1933 King Kong, but the stop motion is a lot better as the technology was more advanced, def one to watch and for the collection if you enjoy the classic creature features! It must be 40 years since i saw this one on TV but i still sometimes think about how impressive the special effects were with Willis O`Briens prodigy Ray Harryhausen (then still only 28) proving he was just as good as the master. The stop-motion sequences in this movie are easily as good as (or perhaps even better than) anything seen before or since, Ray Harryhausen had it all to himself (more or less) for the next 30 years when he bowed out with the equally brilliant "Clash of the Titans", however he said during production in 1980 he went to see "The Empire Strikes Back" and had to finally admit that his time as "The Guv`nor", (so to speak), was over, but the number of future special effects experts who he influenced to new levels of special effects greatness was incredible. I still think hes one of the most influential film-makers of all time even though he never actually directed any of the films he was involved with. His 30 years at the top of the tree was the stuff of legend. BTW Benn, the 1998 remake is a surprisingly good movie with quite superb special effects with Ray Harryhausen himself making a cameo appearance, its odd why it didn`t do that well at the box office because, like i said, its a marvelously entertaining movie. Hey Barry, I am so jealous you were able to see it when it the special effects were not as advanced as now when I saw it, Ray Harryhausen was one of those few people that changed cinema for generations! I don´t think he was interested in directing, he just wanted to bring his creations to life, and to the big screen, and that is what he did. I def have to check out the 1998 remake, only heard good things, maybe it didn´t do that well as in this period of time, people were interested in different genres, it comes in cycles, thanks so much for watching, I hope you know how much I appreciate your support and your comments.
