I had beat stage 3 cancer but lost my home, my job, my car, and gotten divorced. Been digging out for three years. When my best supporter and best friend of 30 years passed away. Losing her felt like the last straw. And then you ladies came to Louisville. That was my first show anywhere in years. I have always drawn from strong, creative women and it has been so inspiring to relive memories of your previous music and relate to the new album. It's not about winning any contest. You should know the affect you have on people. Your soul should be fed too. Thanks for your courage all these years 😗

As a "weird" girl growing up in a small town, I was frequently bullied for a variety of things (having red hair, listening to something other than country and/or rap, dressing tomboyish, being interested in the occult and paranormal/supernatural, etc.). When I discovered L7, I felt like I had some badass women providing the soundtrack to my life. L7's music helped me embrace my "weirdness" and say, "Fuck you," to that small town mentality. Their music helped me embrace my true self and to care less what others think of me. There were many times that I wanted to give up on everything including life, but they helped me deal with stuff through their music. I owe my life to them because they helped save it more than once. I love L7!!!!

aint it the truth tho...kids pretty much listen to country, rap or tween pop. the best thing that happened to me in high school was some friends introduced me to black flag, dead kennedy's, suicidal tendancies, fear and the like...i loved L7 in the 90's. amazing they are still rocking. there are lots of female and trans musicians that are easy to identify with that dont go with the normal. most of them are in the indie circuit. speedy ortiz, milk teeth, summer cannibals are a few you can start with.

L7 has always been my go to when I need a jolt of confidence to stand up and fight for myself. Slide, Shove, One More Thing, and Shitlist were the fuel for getting out of an a abusive relationship. It's not only the emotional grit of L7's songs that get me through tough times but the humor that's even more important. Livin' Large is helping me on my journey to reinvite myself in the second half of my life...Got some lemons, make some kickass lemonade.

Your music reminded me that my strength never left me. I had moved to massachusetts from Puerto Rico at the age of 20 and it all happened overnight. My parents found out I was gay and I lost my home. When I was starting my new life, new language, new school, new identity, I felt small and worthless. I got introduced your music and started seeing glimpses of the courage in my heart. Thank you for keeping me bad ass. I love you l7

I was in the ultimate “Holding Pattern” - I was a young queer person stuck in the suburbs of Phoenix, Arizona. When I first discovered L7, I was floored. They had awesome music, they looked cool as shit, were super political, and believed in the causes I did. I fell head over heels in love with the band immediately. I became obsessed with Los Angeles and the grit of Hollywood in the late 80s and early 90s. I knew one day I had to get the fuck out of Phoenix and move to LA. (MISSION ACCOMPLISHED)
L7 was such an integral influence in my life. They influenced my guitar playing style, my fashion (ugh my stringy long hair!), and my aspirations. They were an example of how you can be an outsider and still be incredibly fucking awesome. I had a hard enough time as a teenager, always feeling like no one understood, and I couldn’t figure out why (and it took me until I was 28 to figure it out for myself - I’m trans!). They gave me something to aspire to; something to believe in, something to live for. L7 FOR LIFE!

Your music has been a part of my life for almost 30 years and has gotten me through so many trials and tribulations...One of my closest friends had become dependent on drugs and started putting herself into scary situations with her 2 young daughters. When she got hauled off to jail for domestic violence, I had a choice to make for these 2 young girls...who not only witnessed the violence but, were innocent in all this. I ultimately made the best and most important decision in my life...I called Children Services and said...I want these girls to live with me. I adopted them and am now a Mom! That was just over 6 years ago and they are now 7 and 9 years old. I have always relied on your music...during this time...from Fast and Frightening to Bad Things and Must Have More. And I find it so awesome that now my daughters love and ask for me to play Beauty Process and Scatter The Rats every day in the car. Hearing them singing and enjoying my favorite band is priceless! Thank you for all the great music all these years!

What you did for the kids in the darkest moment of their lives is beyond incredible, watching you parent them with love and laughter is my favorite thing in the universe. Thank you for introducing me and the girls to L7! I still think you should have showed Donita, Suzie, Jennifer and Dee the tattooed portraits you have on your back and the L7 hands on your stomach tattoo when we got to meet them in June in Pittsburgh! Because of your love for L7, it has become a part of our home and daily lives. I couldn't imagine a car trip without hearing the girls jamming to the band. L7 has always been my go too. I grew up gay in a town that really didn't want me to exist. My favorite memories are driving the back roads in the middle of the night listening to Bricks, Beauty and Hungry. I felt fucking understood. Slap Happy came out, and the song Freezerburn really made my love complete.
Since the reuinion, I've bought tickets to 3 shows, but was only able to make it to the town that I live in. And I got all of my best friends tickets to come with. It was the funnest night Omaha has seen in a long time. And we have a cool music scene here.
Happy Birthday Suzi! Thank you for the interaction for the show I got to go to. Donita, thank you for the fist bump! Live you all dearly.

This song. This band. My story. Our vines intertwine over the years and the struggle seems shared. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis almost 13 years ago. I've been a waitress for at least 25. Talk about a holding pattern. These lyrics are my life. I work to find a way to keep going, do it, it's just your life. I watch myself change, march (or walk slowly) into the unknown...Donita. Wow. This is my anthem as I FIND A WAY to stay positive (and sometimes cry), count the good, love my boys and hope that one day this very heavy disease gets cured. Get here soon.

I was 13 when Hungry For Stink dropped, I borrowed money to buy it, I couldn't believe there were women making music like L7! The music video for Andre inspired how I dressed, my attitude and I eventually begged my parents for a guitar, discovered Bricks Are Heavy and learned every song on my own. You are all very dear to my heart, when the Riot Fest show happened a few years back my friend and I flew to Denver just to see you! We did the meet and greet, saw the show and had the time of our lives that weekend! My life felt full circle. Raised in Canada in the middle of nowhere I never thought the day would come when I'd see a L7 show! There is no doubt in my heart that it was your fearlessness that encouraged me to live out my life the way I do. Now I live in Phoenix, have a rad radio show and label and try to encourage other young women to truly follow their dreams. THANK YOU FOREVER.

I honestly don’t remember a time when L7’s music wasn’t there to help me through the hard times as well as the happy. The most prolific time in my life when L7 has an impact on my life was after my “father” overdosed on heroin just 4 days after Kurt Cobain died. My head and life was so fucking fucked. Bricks Are Heavy was like a warm blanket that just felt right. Then Hungry For Stink came out and re-ignited me. I remember opening the CD (god how old am I??) and the first opening chords to Andre hit my ears and penetrated my soul. Of all the amazing music that came out in 1994, BAH was THE music I needed most in my life at that moment and I am eternally grateful!! Love you ladies to death and I don’t care if every bone in my body is broken I will not ever miss a live L7 show in Philly. Much love ladies! I am sure where this is my story there are thousands across the globe. Your music changes so much for the better and truly speaks to people who have trouble finding their own words! Xoxoxo

So many L7 memories. As a high school graduation present my dad, my friend, and her mom drove from San Diego to see L7 at the El Rey in 2000 and spent the night in Hollywood. Our other male friend borrowed my skirt and barrettes and crowdsurfed and made quite the splash. One day sadly he took his own life. He was a huge L7 fan. Years later I would never imagine hanging out with L7, sitting at their VIP table at a Babes In Toyland reunion gig at the Roxy. Seeing one of the bands I grew up listening to, WITH one of the other bands I grew up listening to. Ill never forget how exciting and lucky and honored I was. Seeing Brody Dalle, L7, and Exene Cervenka, Eric Erlandson, and Patty Schemel all backstage at that Babes in Toyland gig, watching Kat Bjelland and Maureen Herman putting their make up on in front of the mirror. What a night Ill never forget and boy was I the fly on that historical wall... Lastly, getting my ass kicked by the loser security guards who never made it as cops who really like to remind you what losers they are and really beat the living hell out of people and take their power and aggression out on others at the Fonda, they pulled me out of that crowd so hard I couldnt work for 1 week because I was crowd surfing. No signs saying no crowd surfing or any warning that was prohibited. Anyway ha Ill never forget that. (Please dont delete my comment for saying that, if you need me to change that part I will... ) L7 thanks for coming back The world needs real rock and L7 is here to bring it back. Thanks for all the memories..

Shove..somewhere in the late 90's L7 played a show in Mechelen, Belgium.Me and my girlfriend(still toghether now!) were having a good time jumping around and enjoying the show together when Donita said "this ones for the guy with his Dead Kennedys shirt and the girl with the black t shirt " and started playing Shove. Probably because of our enthousiasm and the rest of the room was just standing there. We didnt care, we were having a blast and were very happy with our song. Still have the long sleeve with the green skeleton hands I bought at that show. I may not of been of gone to one of your concerts in the 90s, by the time I was born you had a couple of demos out, on your fourth album, and by the time I would start to listen to your music the reunion tours didn't happen yet. Confused and Sad in the dismal depths the new millennium would usher in and plummet to, I found myself being swamped by all the teenybopper pop music that I grew up with ,,, just wasn't giving me knowledge to better myself or speaking to the times we are in. Cue in H.F.S., "Can I run" was my anthem to help me get through the mass shooting that occurred in my hometown of El Paso, Texas last night. "Talk Box" is my sanity when all I see my community clogging themselves with addictions; each one blinded and unable to help the person next to them. Thank you above all else for the powerful women you hi-light in your catalogue like Shirley Muldowney or Ms.45. I've been uplifted in the self-discovery transcended by all the words of encouragement and the message you've left for others to get enlightened by. You encapsulate so much and put an end to all the naysayers. Yes, your music has helped me tremendously through the worst of times, but i've learned break through, handle me, and never get stuck here again. I promise to never get swept in the undercurrent of American Society, Swan dive into the void, 'Til the wheels MF fall off!
    love you,

This song grabbed me hard when I first heard it. I was going through a difficult situation when STR dropped. New L7 was exactly what my soul needed to get in a stronger head space.
HP became a new favorite the first time I heard it. It has this “keep going- you’re gonna be fine” feeling. I played the whole album and sometimes just HP every day, and each time I felt a bit better. It probably took a couple weeks, but it helped me feel strong and able to stand up for myself. I’ve turned to L7’s music many times and it always gets me feeling better. Even if it’s just to rock hard and have fun or let out some aggression. I’m so happy they came back. Hope they stick around.

When I watched you from the front of the crowd with my five year old daughter in my arms. I’ve loved you for 25 years. I’ve managed to feel the same age for 25 years..an inability to see myself as mature or evolved...but in that moment, watching my daughter look up at you with that same zest for life and pure awe that I did all those years ago...something inside me changed. It propelled me into the next phase of my life. I will be forty in December, and that experience this past June was something that I don’t think would’ve happened under any other circumstances.
Thank you, L7, for opening girls eyes to the passion we have inside us....generation after generation❤️

I first heard of L7 in 1993, when I was 18. A friend of mine had the Bricks are Heavy cd and since then we listened to it nonstop. Knowing of the existence of this band was a huge boost to me, given there were no other chicks in rock music that I could identify with and see as role models. L7 prove to me and show the world what it was like to be real raw rocker women and not just some sexual-covered-in-leather stereotype. And I've admired them for their attittude ever since. L7 became a reinforcement in my identity construction process.
And I was thrilled to finally be able to see them live in Chile for the first time last december, 25 years later. Totally worth the wait!

Have been a huge fan since I was a pre-teen in the early 90s. I was always one of the weird kids with strange tastes in music, but I didn't care. I had 'Smell the Magic' in my Walkman.
Fast forward to early last year when I unexpectedly lost my mother, I clutched onto that album even harder. At that point, Bricks Are Heavy was speaking more and more to me with what I was going through - having to take care of a devastated father who lost his wife.
I felt renewed seeing you last April in Indianapolis and was sad I wasn't able to make it to a near by show this year.
And two weeks ago, I lost aforementioned father to suicide. Scatter the Rats has been on repeat on my playlist since.
I love you ladies like you're the big sisters I never had. 🖤🖤🖤🖤

L7’s album The Beauty Process, IS a holding pattern in itself for me, that has gotten me through adolescence, my 20’s, and now I’m 36. I listen to it front to back whenever I feel like a nobody, when I’m feeling weak, small, worthless and unseen. In my mind, I become Donita Sparks, I have formed the band myself, and I’m on stage in a bar performing that album, sometimes I’m playing guitar, sometimes the bass...but no matter what, it fills me with fire, and it renews my confidence. It helps me remember who I am when I’m low. It’s in my top 5 favourite albums of all time. And of course I’m a fan all around, and finally got to see you all play here in Montreal last summer at ‘77. I think I might’ve been the most pumped person there haha...the new album kicks ass. I love you and I thank you all. Seriously. Xo

This song arrived in my life at a very appropriate time in my life. I’m an American living in Switzerland with my German wife. We traveled to the US in 2016, right before the shit show kicked off over there, to get married in anticipation of returning there to live once my wife completed a degree she was working on to help ensure her immigration success. Then….the environment in the US took it’s dark turn and we, a gay couple, decided to wait it out until things improved. We’ve since been in this “Holding Pattern”, putting off major life decisions in the hopes that things would return to to a more accepting and welcoming attitude toward both immigrants and homosexuals. Not sure that is going to happen now though….but we have our L7 records to inspire us and help us keep going. As strong women who have overcome so much, you guys give us strength and your kick ass music is the soundtrack of our lives! Keep rocking ladies, so many women out here need you!

I have two seperate times where L7 has meant soo much to me. The first was back in the 90's when I lived in Dallas Tx and had a crap job and had to deal with way too much, "Shitlist" was my song for trudging on, no matter how bad it got, I could crank it up and scream fuck it all, I can get through this, you ain't keep me down! The second was for "Fast And Frightening", it was the favorite of my sister who was also my best friend that I lost to cancer back in December, she would joke that it fit her because she considered herself a tough bitch with a heart of gold, I'll always love that song now because of her and was overjoyed to hear you play it live again at your last concert in Dallas, made me feel like she was there too.

I go through patterns of negative thoughts & energies that seem to plague me to the point I feel cursed. It usually comes all together coincidentally into a chain of crappy life events that culminates into some sort of loss. It gets to the point it seems relentless and non-stop.Suddenly out of nowhere comes something positive to help me get soaring up high above the bullshit of life. Before long I start to see the sweet sparkling lining of all my gloomy darkness and I am able to see the positive again and I tend to flourish for awhile until the spiraling down pattern commences.
This new Scatter the Rats album was something that helped me find positive energies again and helped me remember the past and pull and draw myself back to full strength and hopefully extinguish negative patterns in life!

Many songs of L7 has influenced me throughout the years. I've been banging to these Sisters since the early 90s. Let's face it, our teenage years are some of the toughest times in our lives. After getting gay bashed, teased, laughed at, had rocks thrown at me, just for being different...me and friends would chill in my garage and we would riff to many L7 songs....a couple songs in particular: Shove, Shitlist, Drama, I Need etc...have all taken me to a different "plane" where all my fears and insecurities lifted...I found a place I fit into...and I eventually found me. Thanks L7 for beings there, for having relatively easy riffs I can play to on the guitar with your music in the background. You've def saved my life a few times xoxo

The first time I had contact with the band was on a "Bricks Are Heavy" K7 tape borrowed by a high school friend. It was love at first sight. Right after that, L7 played at Hollywood Rock and I could hardly believe what I was seeing. You definitely influenced my way of living and seeing life. I learned to play the drums and guitar and, especially, I came to see life differently, after all my character was being shaped at that time (I was 13). L7 helped me a lot at this stage and I became a much more provocative and critical person. So at the most difficult times your music was there to remind me that I should move on with attitude and provocation. Thank you very much!

I went with my younger brother to Lollapalooza '94 on Randall's Island. One of his friends that knew I was a huge Runaways fan said to me "you should check out L7, they're great". Ok, so after the previous band finished on your stage I made my way up to the front of the stage. Mind you I'm mostly a progressive rock guy, Genesis, King Crimson, etc. No fucking clue what a mosh pit is. So you gals start playing and holy shit! What the fuck is going on around me! Your music gave me the energy and strength to get the fuck outta there alive! Thank you. I bought Hungry For Stink on blue vinyl a few days later. Still have it.

    Hey!
M'y name is Capucine i'm french, I am 14 years old. I discovered L7 when I was very young, when my dad show me a video of their concert on the TV set "Nulle part ailleurs" it was the funniest and most impressive concert I've seen
Since i was child, I'm dysortographia , it does not matter, but i think the fact To be not normal made me sooo sad and isolate me. But listening L7 made me really really happy! The time of one song, I forgot all m'y problem.
Listening L7 allowed me to assert myself and identify me with strong and free women.
Even in 2019 their are still fast and frightening !!

      Salut Capucine,
      Bonne continuation !

Knowing I live in the day and age where we lost L7 for quite a spell of time & now have them back in this modern day of music radio friendliness is quite the breath of fresh air. I saw em in the 90's and will continue to now til I am dead. It is sooo fun to go a off the wagon sing along and have them blow the roof off the building they rock our asses in. Also super cool gals if ya meet em. Idk they just helped me all in all become the moralistic human I am today. They have taught me even in my youth that you can be better than a macho male pig etc. Which in Iowa is almost all I saw displayed...that and ppl without emotion. I guess they made me feel like not an outsider bc i had them to rock too (as did the whole lot of bands back then). L7=to be a better human than the mainstream paints us to be & I will love their art forever bc of that. Cheers!

L7's music gets me through all manner of tough times. Maybe the one that sticks with me most is the song "Bad Things" from The Beauty Process. I loved L7 from the day my ex brought your first album from a USA trip. The next two albums floored me and were in constant play on my walkman - i can't tell of a single event but your Energy and your attitude carried me through numerous Times when my spirits were low due to job problems or bad vibes in my relationship. L7 is definitely one of my favorite bands of all times, the music talks to my soul and lifts me up every time i listen. It was hard seeing the band desintegrate and for years i had been looking for signs of a possible reformation. It's fantastic to have you back!
