Never been in Penzance, but signed the petition and donated to share the petition. Ludicrous that the Council is remotely considering forcing a local eatery out of business to put up a f**king shed.
Happy to have signed it! It looks like their numbers weren’t too far off a few hours ago. I hope they go way over their target number and I pray this petition works in their favor! ❤️🙏🏻
Of course I signed, it'd just be bloody rude not to! Will also pop along for a meal with the family in the next couple of weeks. Those ribs looked divine!
As a Cornish exile living in Devon, how great to see my home town of PZ in your vlog this week ❤. I visit often as all my family are still there. The Waterside is an institution and must be saved! Been going there all my life and I’m now 60! Already signed the petition. Excellent food great atmosphere and Mead to drink! What’s not to love! So nice to see van life in local areas so familiar to me. Thanks 😊
Love this video . We're missing our little holiday home in Gulval near Sainsbury's just up the road and watching these videos has just done the trick. Didn't manage to get down for Xmas as usual from Yorkshire hopefully down in April for some paddle boarding in marizion. We've spent many a great evening in the meadery usually can't walk with the amount of food we eat. Spent 27 wonderful yrs wondering around the places your camping at its great seeing them all . Great watching you converting your new van as I can't make my mind up what to do with the T5 I currently use as a work van and travel to pz. All the best Yorkshire mark 👍
Great vlog as always. I’ve signed the Meadery petition and wrote in the comments it was thanks to you sharing the link. We’ve enjoyed many meals there and it would be so sad to see it gone.
Oh wow!!! Well this episode had unexpected twists and turns! Lol I just got my first electric blanket and the first night I slept on top of it, but it gets REALLY cold in my house in the winter. So I have found it holds the heat in better from the top, but there is no wrong way. Lol I was so glad you told us about the Facebook page. I was going to ask about a online petition. And lastly, wow, watching you ride back to the van was PAINFUL! Lol I’ve been on a motorcycle in a slight hail/rain storm. It felt like tiny little knives piercing my skin! Bless your heart! 🫶🏼 Have a great everyone!
I just noticed your jacket, Mountain Warehouse - I popped into their store on Wednesday and bought myself a down jacket from there in the sale. I could feel every angonizing push when you were on that bike, striding to get back to the van, it looked absolutely horrendous conditions to cycle in, as well as walk no doubt - not keen on this time of year, definitely a Spring and Summer type of person for sure. Really enjoyed watching tonight.
I'm sat at home watching this on the sofa on an electric blanket. We got it for our dog to help with his arthritis, but I sit on there with him it's so good 😃
Hey Shawn looked liked you could of fed 2 with that plate looked good It’s funny because watching you eat. I had just ordered ribs and chicken. Lol it’s nice to see that you’ve gotten electric blanket but usually the blanket goes on top of you. That’s where mine goes but that can work too. The scenery was beautiful as usual. Too bad it was storming. It was kind of funny seeing you biking. In such windy weather love your vlogs till next week stay safe say hi to the Mrs. and don’t forget to rub that tummy and say hi to your little baby from us in Montreal Jacky from Montreal
Penzance is a windy town. That weather was awful. I have eaten at that meadery & have signed the petition. Good luck to them. Glad you got the electric blanket. Some are meant for under use & others for over. Always follow instructions for safety. Bet you were so glad to get home!
My in-laws are very close to Penzance and I went down the front in a storm about 10 years ago and the waves were come ing up over the lamppost! Love Penzance! Well done for riding out the storm! 😂
Id have needed another cuppa after getting back from that bike ride in that wind & rain before setting off Shaun. Well done for keeping filming through it.
I’ve signed the petition, hopefully it will help save the place. Another great meadery is over at Newlyn. These businesses need our support more than ever. 👍
hahaha... love the optimism... best line: "sitting in a van drinking a non alcoholic beer in the rain, you know you've made it." that was hilarious, man... this was a funny episode, Shaun... lol Hope you guys get the signatures to save the local spot...
With the electric blanket, its better to sleep under than on top, due to the wires inside getting damaged. Apart from that they are an amazing purchase 👍 (Its probably ok that your sleeping on top of it so if you prefer sleeping on it id just not worry about it)
The eblanket (or heat mat to be exact) I use is designed to sleep on top as instructed in the user guide. It is so thick and hard, nearly impossible to sleep under.
Great video again. I lived in Cornwall for a year and while I was down there I ate in the Waterside Meadery alot and it was both inexpensive and nice food. I have signed the petitiion and shared it on Facebook.
Ideas about the bike. Take the wheels out, remove pedals (very easy with a spanner), maybe remove saddle with stem. The forks can then be rotated so that the handlebars are parallel to the frame. This minimises the amount of space that it consumes and helps with more efficient storing. Taking this approach you may even find a roof box that it could fit in. A garage on the roof.
Or just pop the wheels off and lay it over the front seats with a sheet under and over it. Am about to start a camper conversion with a bike garage but I am a mtb rider so they are probs too £££ to leave in the open.
it’s been a Shaun sunday for me, Praa sands and just finished off the Chicken Rough at the Waterside Meadery, i’m stuffed, thank you for the recommendations, i’ll be back 👍
One thing ive learned over the years, even though it doesnt sound as good as sleeping by the sea, its better to drive up a road of houses, there is better shelter from the wind
