@@aeandrasass5119 She isn't hungarian at all. Her parents were, then they became swiss, and Timea is only swiss, 100%, born and raised in Switzerland, near my town, speaking french as we do here. Timea BABOS is hungarian.
It's not "out of nowhere". Timeas surname has polish origin and possibly it was Baczyński in the past and since Kerber is half polish it was logical for her.
Bacsinszky is tough, but, then again, they could have asked them to spell the French player, Tessah Andrianjafitrimo, or the Thai, Nicha Lertpitaksinchai!
For the great and beautiful Bencic, Mladenovic the pest was easy, as they were best friends at the time. I already saw this video when it came out, but now, it makes me miss Bacsinszky, who's making a terrible season, sadly. Otherwise, to see Bencic, Halep and Kerber, 3 of my fav in 1 funny video is really cool.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAA TELL SHARAPOVA HOW IT'S FUCKING SPELLED, AHAHAHAH I BET SHE'LL DO IT ISTANTLY
sorry WTA, but spelling english transcription of russian name is nonsense. Pavlyuchenkova is just english version, but in russian it is Павлюченкова, which can be transcripted as "Pavluchenkova or Pavliuchenkova or in my language Pavljučenkova. If you transcript Павлюченкова as Pavlyuchenkova, then why Plíšková is not transcripted correctly as 'let's say' PLEESHKOVA.
What’s the problem to pronounce names correctly? For me it’s so easy, perhaps because I face them often when watching tennis. And now I do believe they never check draws and rankings
Watching tennis screws up everybody's pronunciation, because the commentators usually pronounce them wrong. For instance, Wozniacki is actually pronounced "wash-nee-ash-kee" according to Caroline herself. And according to my slovak friend, "plish-ko-va" (as the commentators say) is actually pronounced "pleesh-ko-va".
That is simply not true. I am from Hong Kong and majority of the people in Asia pronounce it 'E"-Zed, which is closer to the British way than the American way. In fact when I first come to America I have a hard time distinguishing whether people are spelling 'c' or 'z'
No, haha, I say "Zi" too. I'm from the Upper-Midwest US, which is how I know many Canadians say both...but maybe they're just being nice and entertaining my pronunciation.
Angelique Kerber is polish Player. Her parents are from Poland Angie lives in the small city Puszczykowo near Poznań You Can t forget that one! The no 1 also Can Say polish Yes It s True She was born in the Brema because mum and dad were looking for work She is POLISH!
She said that she feels like a german. Of course Poland is a part of her and also has a special place in her heart because her grandparents are from poland and live there but she grew up in Germany and she spent almost her whole life in Germany. This is what she said in an Interview after the US open in Munich.

Sure, as Bencic and Kerber are.
she kinda wished her was hard to spell too!
As a Polish girl, Kerber said (2:15) "cz" in place of "cs" (Bacsinszky) because cz = ch in Polish, cs = ch in Hungarian.
Probably even Bacsinszky would have problems spelling her name :)
Probably even Pavlyuchenkova would have problems spelling her name :)
no bc shes hungarian and she knows that SZ is S so
@@aeandrasass5119 She isn't hungarian at all.

Timea BABOS is hungarian.
Bacsinszky's surname is of Polish origin and Angie tried to spell it as if it was Polish (Baczyński) :)
Keep uploading those videos WTA

It's not "out of nowhere". Timeas surname has polish origin and possibly it was Baczyński in the past and since Kerber is half polish it was logical for her.
simona is adorable
This makes me realize, that players dont see the scoreboard when they are playing against each others.
Bacsinszky is tough, but, then again, they could have asked them to spell the French player, Tessah Andrianjafitrimo, or the Thai, Nicha Lertpitaksinchai!
I bet you googled their names
Wow, those names are just...wow.
+Nina Dominique no once youve heard of them theyre quite difficult to forget
😨😨😨😨😨
insomniacfolder How about Bob Ctvrtlik ? What a surname; eight letters of which one is a vowel and the rest are consonants, lol
Kerber seemed a little too happy after she spelled her own name correctly.
Belinda is so funny and cute here!
bencic lovely
My favorit SIMONA HALEP, KERBER and MUGURUZA
Bencic as Roger once said is really cute
Bencic is a charming one
Let's try Wishaya Trongcharoenchaikul or Valentini Grammatikopoulou
WTA KEEP THESE CONTENTS COMING WE LOVE THEM
Pliskova though hahaha
Nice to hear they all sat Zed for Z rather than Zeee🇬🇧
Bencic is pretty!
They should have asked for it in a sentence
bencic is sooooo darn hot!

awww Mladenovici, like Belodedici, that's how Romanians transcribe Serbian surnames. Cute.
iauzyetvztuvzrumiz
Angie is so cute :3
Halep is such a cutie!!! :D
Muguruza is so cut
These people are so charming...
at 34 seconds halep says that wozniacki is a tough one, (she lost to her in the ao open final! lol
Vitaly Davyd Lol, hahahahahah.
Not sure which one she meant lol (tough name to spell or tough opponent)
P-A.....*wonders what is the goddamn point anymore*
For the great and beautiful Bencic, Mladenovic the pest was easy, as they were best friends at the time.

Should have give them Andrianjafitrimo or Buyukakcay
Even people from Eastern Europe struggled with alphabet combinations from the sub-region. Lol
Vandeweghe is the hardest!

Thought the same thing...i'm no russian but i know that those transcriptions are somewhat arbitrary.
That's all true, but it's more fun this way.
Англосаксы... такие англосаксы :) проявим милосердие к убогим
Bencic best comeback player
So Cute wta
Pliskova really talks with her nose.
Muguruza

Pavlyuchenkova wins! :DDD
Kerber the Care Bear
My name is best!
spell Sharapova please 😂😂
Lol enjoyed that
I'm surprised that Bencic and Muguruza said "zed" correctly, instead of "zee". They must be Canadian!
i think muguruza is copying from some where else from cheat codes hahahaha
Gee, all them players from Switzerland are smart and good at tennis, something is going on there...
They can't spell Bacsinszky and Pavlyuchenkova. I am sure a zillion percent that none of them would ever get a Thai name spelled correctly!
Lol... They cant even remember their opponents' names
Kerber : Bacsinszky
A few moment later
B A C.... Z? 😂😂😂
Lol
"Agnieszka Radwanska" would have been pretty tough.
"Arantxa Sánchez Vicario" would be the final round.
Why do they say the z weird
+Philosophical Overdose. Oh ok
In Asia they all say "zee"
When I visited classrooms in Korea and China.
That is simply not true. I am from Hong Kong and majority of the people in Asia pronounce it 'E"-Zed, which is closer to the British way than the American way. In fact when I first come to America I have a hard time distinguishing whether people are spelling 'c' or 'z'
of course. HK was the one colonized by UK, not Korea or mainland China
Zed
Wait, what is "(zeh-t)" that they're saying for Z when trying to spell Mugaruza?
+SupaKawazu "zed" is how much of Europe says "z".
insomniacfolder
Ah ok, I thought it was the pronounciation of a German letter because I sort of remembered it from my German courses.
+SupaKawazu It's actually "zed" in every English-speaking country except the US. A lot of Canadians say either way though.
Bombay1618
Wow interesting. I guess you guys are all like wtf when you hear us say "Ze"
No, haha, I say "Zi" too. I'm from the Upper-Midwest US, which is how I know many Canadians say both...but maybe they're just being nice and entertaining my pronunciation.
All these people who say "Simona is adorable", do they mean Simona Signore (french movie actress) is adorable?
А че Кербер такая страшная на этом видео.Она ж красотка
🤚🤚
😂
😂
"ZEE" is prounounced "ZET" by Europeans?
TheDeadlyKnight Zed.
