Zero maintenance. Spinners, even my measily 4, don't get much LUV from me. My charter customers just use them, I may give them the ''wet towel'' treatment once in awhile. And that's it! Not a fan of egg beaters personally, but gotta have a few for ''the masses''. SURPRISINGLY, these 5 year old reels, used and abused are in remarkably good shape, with ZERO maintenance, lubing, or general TLC. Compared to other spinning reels I've had that in a year or two, are corroded, stuck screws, sticky drags, and wobbly handles. I'd but these again! If I needed more spinners. I hope not though, I'd rather shop for MO' BAITCASTERS ❗

Capt Dave knows his reels you can trust him on everything fishing.
FinNor makes some of the BEST reels. I have both level wind and spinners. Flawless operation.
I had 2 levelwind fin-nors, sold them bought more daiwa ryogas. I really liked them. But needed 2 more, and they stopped making them. When a company does shit like that. I instantly turn off. They are foolish after that kinda crap.
I'm not much of a spinning reel guy either, but I have a Fin-nor ahab that is 20 years old. Glad to see they are still making a quality product.
HAD 6 AHAB 8's and got rid of them.....sorry I did, ungodly great spinner worth twice what they sold for these days!
If you download the schematic of the Fin-Nor reels you'll see certain screws get thread-lock and certain ones get anti-seaze. Part of why they hold up so well. Thanks so much for the video!!! I use Lethal 25, 40,100 sizes. Incredible. OFS 5500 for offshore size.
NEXT are 25'sfor me, i'll need 3 at least, I'm down sizng all my tackle. charter Fishing shallow marshes as soon as I get my new boat built
@CaptDavesSportfishing Good choice👍, I have the 25 size and it's so cool to have a tiny reel that's tough as nails. 🤠 Keep the line roller lubed and it'll make everyone happy.
Tip: the "wind knots" are prone to happen in braid when the auto-bail trip is used. If the user will manually trip the bail, it will stop the wind knots.
@@johnnyhiett I know. thats the wrong use of a spinner anyhow.
There are many things I could say about that reel, and spinning reels in general! But since you are a “Anti-Spinite”, I’ll just say 🐟On. Well that and I have about 30 spinning reels, and 20 Bait caster reels and each have a purpose like a wrench, and a ratchet🤷♂️ And to orowock1’s comment. I had a little Mitchell reel 40 years ago spooled with 10lb test mono. I fished a lot of freshwater back then, along with reef fishing offshore. One day broke off my good rod, so picked up that little Mitchell to play with the sea bass and caught a 40lb redfish by chance! It took almost an hour to get him to the boat, as the reel literally blew up in my hands from the heat! I hand lined him the last couple of yards! It was a great reel while it lived🤷♂️👏 Great memories thanks😀
I personally never had a need and don't even like the configuration like we spoke of before and other videos I'll be sticking out mess of the guys handle rotor non compact and take pride in an educated thumb like a snobby fly fisherman you can equate them to me or me to them
@@CaptDavesSportfishing Man I just woke up, and first thing I checked for was a reply from ole Capt Dave😬Good morning spinner😂😂😂😂
Spinning reels love them. Back in the day as a child that’s all there was for fresh water or you could hand line😂
NOT FOR ME. When I was a kid freshwater fishing, NO ONE used a spinner, in freshwater even. Especially not in saltwater. OLD, bass tournament guys never picked them up much......SO neither did I. I remember a friend got a Mitchell spinner, and we all gawked at it like it was from outer space! Everything was old Abu Garcia's, then I saw a Lew Childress small light weight V-spool baitcaster and HAD to have one! V-SPOOL.....before anyone thought of magnets, I think. IT WORKED LIKE A DREAM. Today, those reels fetch good money. I think it was a reel designed by Lew, but maybe made by Shimano. Not long after that is when I noticed Shimano and Daiwa's starting to really impress me. With TWO educated at ivy league university THUMBS by about 10 years old, I was entrenched in baitcaster Snobbery, FOR LIFE!!! .
Zebco
Agree. They're built like a tank. Not the most refined or smoothest reel for inshore fishing but boy Fin-Nor make some great off shore/near off shore reels.
No doubt!
Loop-pid-i-doops, formerly known as wind knots, craftsman screwdriver can also accept a socket for when you need the extra.
KVD, may call em that too....haha
Fin-Nor is a Pure fishing company same as ugly stik and Penn .
I'm looking for a new reel for my Ugly stik Inshore select now I'm going to look at ihe Fin-Nor
Thanks
ONLY recently. CORPORATE PAC-MAN!
Double spool bearing support!! I actually have never seen that in my life! Finnor is an old brand and used to be very competitive, like Dam and Ryobi, which you probably haven't heard of. Then all of these european brands stopped manufacturing reels and would order reels from china and put their name on it. I think they still design them or something, and the chinese will manufacture whatever they design, so its not exactly an ebay reel.
I've heard of all of them I didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday. I know people that have old finnor spinners they are still using them today the engineering on them was like nothing you'd ever say ever again
Orowock1 mentioned Ryobi in his comment! Personally never heard of them!
@@melloreel So did ifish, started out okay then went kinda junkie. More popular in Europe.
Kvd is now with Lews
Highest bidder, highest bidder. Lews sprouted outa no where. Like kastking.
Capt Dave you are an anti spinite!! For shame on you. Never owned a Fin but they seem pretty durable. Not to go off topic but could we give an honorable mention to Mitchel reels? Never had one of them either but my father did. I think that when I turned 9 years old I was actually finally allowed to look at it ! The reel outlived my Dad. Biggest piece of crap I ever bought was a Royobi reel anybody remember them?
I remember all the old brands as I told iiFish, he thinks I fell off the turnip truck yesterday.
Chinese you haven’t seen anything yet wait until Beijing joe gets warmed up
Oh bty A new commander in thief was sworn in today, "Keyboard keeps sticking" please excuse misspellings. Lets give him the same trust, benefit of the doubt and respect that was given to president Trump by his critics.
not my president! a Chinese Communist Party puppet. That shouldn't even be there he's there illegally, just like all the other crap he's done me learned off of Hillary and Bill
Nice sarcasm there orowock1 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
