As a Gen X’r we’re not “mean” but we can’t stand inauthenticity. When people lecture about “inclusiveness” and “compassion” my cringe meter starts to rise. These are often the same ones who run campaigns to cancel people who don’t agree with them. I have no problem calling them out on their bs.

As a Gen Z (22), I completely agree. People think Gen Z is the same as the millennials just more extreme, this is completely wrong. The guy in the video is a late millennial, I don't care what age he is. Gen Z is not woke, we're currently seeing conservatism on the rise in high schools, and literally Andrew Tate in the middle schools. Also it telling that these two people seem like some of the most privileged people on the planet and unaware of it, and no it's not because of their skin colour.

Yup. I guess this allergy towards “inclusiveness” or and victim mentality stems from our own childhood, where we had to figure things out by ourselves and any problems you had were met with “suck it up, buttercup!” This means we generally see victim mentality (and bullying, on the other end of the spectrum, which includes cancel culture) as the lazy way to deal with problems, instead of owning up to your mistakes and shouldering your own problems. Even if it’s “not fair.”

so because you suffered, you wanna see the next generation suffer is what I’m getting from you comment. How about you work together with your fellow human beings, including people of the younger generations to make this world better place. Some more very childish behavior from a so-called elder. Throwing a temper tantrum because you can’t handle a little change because the world isn’t doing things exactly the way you expect and demand it to. Blaming other generations for the problems of the world. How about you get to know someone a little bit, and then judge them on the content of their own personal character, instead of putting them all in a box. Which, by the way, is the same thing your parents generation to yours growing up. Other words, continuing the same vicious cycle of labeling, boxing in and blaming people to make yourself feel better. You’re nothing more than a grown child. So now we are told we are mean, when we were treated like garbage ourselves, and now have to deal with all the cancel cuture shenanigans just because Gen X is tired and in patient. We were ignored forever and suddenly now people want to criticize us. News flash we are over it by now.

You say society didn't give a flip about you but parents in that era did foster resilience in their kids and they trusted them with doing more mature tasks than modern kids are allowed by their parents to do and they let them go off and play together outside so long as they came back before dark. Parents today practically do an abdication of authority over their kids bend over when even their 3 year old kid says they don't feel like they are in the correct body and let the state and teachers tell them that their immature toddler kid knows and can make decisions about their gender by that age and should be allow blockers and later surgery.
Society has become mentally insane and illogical because of the emotionalism that has been injected into society and it's people yet you would wish to have had that type of upbringing of these younger generations rather than the one that you had? These modern generation don't have any intelligent thinking capacity of their own, they are completely made up of what ideologue in the Democrat party have taught kids for the past couple of generations. Modern kid are over emotional useful tools and guaranteed voters Biden, Harris, or whatever other emotional rhetoric used car salesmen of the Democrat party comes along. At least Gen X grew up in the era of Reagan didn't come in contact with all the modern gender and other narratives taught to young people.

We're bluntly honest and when we "spit facts" we don't beat aound the bush, sugar coat, or buffer the crap. Ya take it as it's given and figure it out yourselves. If you don't have the mental capacities to analyze and discern that's not our responsibility or problem...blame your parents...IQ is at least 50% genetic. We'll be inclusive if we vibe but we're generally libertarian individualists, authenticity and accepting your own personal self as you are without external influences screwing you out of being yourselves...we're not collectivistic but we will form groups temporarily for a mutual cause if we all believe in said cause but those that don't won't be a part of it and it's all good cause we respect each other's right to oir own values and individual perspectives...at least those with above average intelligence as it stood in the 80s and early 90s which, as a side note, has decreased by a full 20+ points to fit "average intelligence" criteria since then... Then there's the whole "don't fuck with us/leave us alone/ nonfucks given" norm...and as a follow up to those don't unless you wanna pull back a stump, wind up in a body bag or dismembered and fed to gators for example...not figuratively spealing either...leave us alone, we tell people that for THEIR safety not our own. We will not be held responsible for the outcome if you choose to ignore that warning and we will not pity, feel shame or remorse 'cause ultimately you were warned repeatedly, you chose to ignore the warning and you paid the price as we saw fit according to our own personal laws, values, and determinations...we will not apologise to you nor your parents nor any "authority" figure because we know, for ourselves, we weren't wrong in what we did and we know no one in governmental positions or those paid by them is to be trusted nor anyone else.

You blame everything on everyone but yourselves. GenX WERE rebels. They were rebels in the way a smarta** that's flunks out of school is rebel. We actually hate you and call you boomers because we don't gaf about generations really and most of think you are boomers not realizing the difference. Millienials are not QUITE as bad. But you did teach them alot of bad lessons out of your anger for "being ignored" (literally started the biggest corporations on the planet now that dominate culture but yeah you're "ignored" /s) ffff off what a hypocritical crock.

We need to address the failure of the educational system. Kids are not learning. They do not seem to understand that education is their path to a good life. Let’s make education a priority or the country will not be able to function in the coming decades. I know that social media has been a huge distraction. It does not have to be! Let’s help our kids learn the joy of reading, expanding their knowledge of the world and follow their dreams until they find them. It starts with all of us. It must start now.

This runs contrary to our life experience. Never being exposed to hardship and inequity as a child, makes that harder to adapt to later on in life and inequity is always just around the next corner. It isn't Gen X's fault Gen Z can't handle or deal with reality. Look, we've given them many years to grow into adulthood. They're now starting to age at 28, pushing 30. Yet, they're still behaving like narcissistic children
We're the generation who felt like 30 at 13, so we just don't have the time or the patience to coddle them anymore. They're adults now, if not older teens, responsible capable of doing things for the world
Gen X is planning their retirements, right now working extra hard. I've got 6 years. We've worked a lot of us since we were kids
We don't have time for their BS, their blatant passive aggressive ageism - as to me, their hatred of old people is the reason Gen X is holding their feet to the fire. We won't tolerate elderly abuse, have had it with their relentless onslaught onto to boomers and Karen's

We believe you have it in you to pave a new path , just be good inside, love yourself for who you are not outward appearances. Just believe in yourself for yourself never for someone else or praise from others, get you no where in the long run.....

We should learn to manage our emotions, not suppress them, or in other words “suck it up”. You also talk about how younger generations wrapped up in their feelings and yet there’s nothing but pure negative emotional energy radiating from your comment.

Millennials & Gen Z operate under a somewhat similar mental umbrella. However, Gen X operate under a more social, physical expression; not mental. Hence, bunching them up as a group is where the error begins. You need a perfect blend of manners+ grit+ "Social Value" or they'll put you in the "meh" box..

A single person can do quite a bit with a little effort. One person can get involved with their community through committees and provide representation to their demographic. In many municipalities boards responsible for making decisions consist of five to seven people; if you are one, you have impact. Having spent 36 years as a public official, I urge young people to get involved and run for office. Our town planning board has three members younger than 45, one of whom is in his 20s. They are taking the lead in updating the town comprehensive plan to guide the development of the community for the next 10 years.

Millennials and Gen Z have the ability to take control of local, county, and state government because there are more young voters than boomers. One of the Presidential candidates is only a few months from being Gen X, and the most outspoken political figure is a Millennial. It is way too late for this election, but now is the time for the young people to begin organizing to put at least 20 young people into the House of Representatives and at least 5 into the Senate. That voting bloc will be powerful. If you mobilize the youth vote, it can happen.

I was never allowed to be a bard. The idea of a Female Bard just put the wind up my male co players. I tended to play a lot of thieves, rangers and one time; a druid. In third edition I played sorcerors: pick the spells you know the best then at higher levels use them almost continiously. I was the team's GUN basically: ALL attack spells and a couple of defense. Im gonna ask my mate about Vicious Mockery and ask if thats an actual cantrip JUST for Bards or whether Sorceror's can do that? Because my Aranea Sorceror in the next game will be DANGEROUS if she can cuss people into oblivion!

We're not mean. We just had a different upbringing that made us more self suffient. My father taught me to swim by tossing me out of a row boat. It was sink or swim (I'm sure he would've jumped in if he had too, if there was an issue). I'll bet a lot of Gen Xers and older can relate to that.

I'm an X er and do you know the most important life lessen I've learnt that I think is ignored in all this generational difference stuff under the spotlight just now is. You HAVE to learn to tollerate uncertainty in your life. Uncertainty isn't a symptom of a mental health condition. Young people want certainty because it lessens anxiety. Let's stop giving kids mental health diagnosis in attempts to give then a 'reason' as to why theyre struggling with their inner lives and sense of selves. Its just an excerise in feeding into what the problem is. These kids dont all have undiagnosed ADHD, Bipolar I or II. Theyre a product of too much negative visual information and too little exposure to learning alongside other generations. Please! And let's all just start helping them grow up instead!

That's the entire Gen Z generation. And all they do is back talk for any little thing. I would never hire Gen Z that's a damn headache right there. And they think theyre so smart but you end up having to micro manage them. Cause they have ZERO problem solving skills for just common sense life stuff. They're only good at coming up with reasons for NOT to do something. And I haven't said anything about their insecurities. Theyre so quick to become insecure too. Very emotionally immature.

The problem with what the trans movement started was the confusion of the language. They want to change what a pronoun is. Language is meant to be descriptive, if anyone who is trans decides to be the opposite gender they expect others to comply with their choice. Another problem comes with males taking advantage of these new rules to be pretitors both in the athletic field and in the female protected spaces (bathrooms and lockerrooms). The older definitions used different terms to define a person who liked to dress like the opposite gender, mainly refering to men, that is crossdresser. This is a man who thinks and dresses more like a woman. They may or may not be gay. These choices were their own, they did not push their choices on others nor did they try to enter a womans bathroom.
Another problem is the LGBTQ+ movement is the division of society that they create, LGB is just a spectrum of homosexuality/cis. There is no conflict with these choices as long as they don't push it on others. Transition should be about the % of the conversion that they have transitioned like the character played by John Lithgow in "The World According to Garp" whom transitioned to a woman surgically.

We got the short end of the stick in life! We were the first generation that didn't do as good as our parents!
Yes gen Z i would not want to be you! You are going to have it worse than us!
I am on your side gen z, don't make a mistake of alienating any potential and! We know how hard life can be! We raised you, we wanted you to have a better life than us. We raised you the way that we did because we didn't want you to go through the same kinda childhood that we went through!
All of this arguing is pointless, pay attention to what's going on around you! Also you need to start questioning what our leaders are really up to!
Don't let them distract you by making you argue with each other.

We labeled millennials the whY me generation as that was there battle cry "why me?" Why do i have to get a job, do manual labor...(most, not all) both boomers and GenX didnt care for GenY.
We named genZ the zoomers because they remind us so much of boomers.
