    Unclear. For tourists, expats sojourning for several months, or only for those with long-term legal residency in Japan?
    And is it a real phone number, as in you can make normal calls?

      GTN Mobile is convenient, because it's cheap, they have excellent stuff and you can cancel your plan monthly which others don't offer. :D
      With that you have a proper Japanese phone number.

    Hi can i have a question? where did you pay the initial application fee and how much? Or you will pay it by COD?

    • @SinaSofie
      @SinaSofie  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi there!
      I'm sorry that I just get back to you know.
      Did you already get your phone number or are there still some problems?
      Usually, you pay everything either with credit card online, or you pay the postman, which maybe costs some more yen...
      Once you go through the application form (online) you'll see in the very end how much it'll cost you.
      Otherwise, you can always call GTN mobile and they are happy to help you. :)
      English speaking staff ;)

    Hi. I just got my y mobile kit. I can not register the sim bec i can not open the qr code for ios. What should i do?

    • @SinaSofie
      @SinaSofie  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jamsin,
      do you still have a problem with the sim card?
      If so, it could be that you have to download a different qr code reader for your phone. Sometimes only Japanese apps work.
      In case you have difficulties to read Japanese, use the Google Translate app. With that you can import screenshots and translate them right away.
      If that is not the problem. Feel free to send me an email to: itsmesinasofie@gmail.com
      With that we can send pictures of the problem and I can help you better.

    How far ahead should I get my Japanese phone number?

    • @SinaSofie
      @SinaSofie  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there! :)
      You only can get a Japanese phone number when being in Japan. But as soon as you moved to Japan I would apply for a phone number. You'll need it basically for everything. :)
      But within the first month should be alright. It's also about you wanting to use your phone as usual. ;)
      And without you can't.

      Hey there!
      To answer your question: you only need to have a mobile phone. Because you'll get a sim card and a Japanese phone number. Therefore, no extra number is necessary. ;D
      I hope, I was able to help you. Let me know when you have more questions! Welcome to Japan!

    Hello ! I plan to move to japan soon. I am not on a working visa or anything like that. I just plan to purchase a house outright and live there. I do not plan to return to my home country and will fully agree to renounce my citizenship on the spot. If i am not working or studying abroad how can i go about getting a japanese bank account? Because at this current time i only have american banks and they have both declined to let me add yen to them.

    • @SinaSofie
      @SinaSofie  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there :)
      Okay, I try to understand your situation. Do you have a Japanese Visa already or do you have to apply for it? Maybe you're also on the spouse Visa...I can't tell.
      But usually it is a hassle as a foreigner to buy a house in Japan when you don't speak Japanese, are a Japanese descendant or married to one.
      The easiest way to apply for a bank account would be in Japan. Japan Post Bank should be a good address for you. Or Shinsei Bank. Both banks I advise you: bring a native speaker with you. Not only for the language, but also it may go faster to apply for a bank account.
      For buying a house you need a certified hanko/inkan with your name in either katakana or Kanji. There is a special one, for only buying a house as far as I know. So make sure you purchase a stamp.
      I hope I was able to help you somehow.

      @@SinaSofie Aha no visas. I kinda plan to just move over there heh I am learning Japanese as well as how to read it as i plan to make japan my permanent residence and as far as i know it is impossible to hold dual citizenship. I will try those banks too but i will also keep a international bank for currency conversion. I will be sure to purchase a stamp once i get established and locked on the house i want. My situation is ... unique to say the least. Money is no object as it pertains to living/staying there , it's just getting eveything like internet , phone , things like that set up.
