I’m curious as this goes by, when y’all talk about trying to evolve beyond caring about views and how much traction a record receives ....how do you find the courage to continue on when a song doesn’t rack up the exposure your “team” has become accustomed to? Have you ever felt the sting of “Jeez guys, sorry I’m not more famous” and somehow you’ve let down those people that went to bat for you? A cruel twisted form of ego meets embarrassment. I have. I’ve been in this business for a long time and somehow have made a nice life for myself. But side projects I care deeply about have never reached the commercial success of my main gig (or even close to!), and it’s often been easier to hide my head in the sand as opposed to saying “Fuck that, I’m getting back after it” and continuing on. I’m old now. I’m 40 but... I’m curious if y’all would answer this. Interesting podcast Also, Mr. Mack speaking about not being in the same lane as a Gaga or that realm... Do You Think Of Me is a bonafide hit song. As we all know, some shit sticks... some doesn’t.
